    Orlando -0.25 1.9

Orlando started the season with two draws, and we could argue they deserved more in both games, nevertheless I'm sure coach O'Connor is happy with what he has seen so far. Orlando had an awful last season, mismanagement, many injuries and they finished the year as the team who conceded most goals ever in a season. James O'Connor took over late in last the season, but didn't manage to change much, mostly used it to try out some players. He did change the formation in the offseason, Orlando plays 3-5-2 now, with their two DPs Dwyer and Portuguese Nani playing upfront, and fitting together very well so far.

Montreal kept their core from last season along with coach Garde and they will play their usual counter attacking style of football with one of the MLS greats Piatti leading the lines. First game they won in San Jose (2-1), while last week they lost late in Houston with the same score. Thy changed very little in the off season, Zakaria Diallo getting back after missing whole last year should help solidify them at the heart of defense, while Maxi Urruti was brought as a new number 9, he should help in holding up the ball, even though he's never been too prolific in his MLS career.

Montreal has a tough schedule to start the season, this is their third away game in a row, and in a third different climate and time zone. I do expect them to have a decent season, but Orlando at home should be very good in '19 and I give the hosts very good chances of winning this one.

Embarrassing performance by Orlando yesterday. On to the next one..

      Atlanta v Philly over 2.75 1.81

Atlanta is coming from arguably the most impressive MLS season we've seen, but things haven't started so smoothly this year. They lost their best player Almiron to Newcastle and they lost legendary coach Tata Martino. Now, they were replaced by two big name guys, Frank de Boer will surely take some time to adjust to new kind of football and world for him in MLS, while best player of River Plate Pity Martinez is a high profile replacement of Almiron, I have no doubt he will do fine. Atlanta was eliminated in CCL by Monterrey on Wednesday, they lost in MLS to DCU (0-2) and drew vs Cincinnati (1-1) last week, so today they need points to bounce back.

Phila started poorly as well. First they lost to TFC at home (1-3), then last week again in Kansas (0-2). The Union didn't change much from successful last season, coach Curtin is still there as all key players except Dockal, while they added Mexican star playmaker Marco Fabian. He will miss this game as he got a red card last week in KC, a frustration foul shortly after missing a penalty kick, everyone else is ready.

Atlanta's high octane offense has been stuttering out of the gate, but they have a perfect opponent today to get things going as Philly defense looked very shaky early in the season. On the other side visitors have a lot of quality up front and tI expect them to have their chances against Atlanta defense searching their early season form as well.

        Cinci v Portland over 2.75 1.88

Home debut of Cinci in MLS, 32k stadium sold out. Cincinnati is a team with better attack than defense, played both away games so far against top teams attacking football, in Seattle (1-4), in Atlanta (1-1), will go at it even more at home with a big push from the crowd. Portland also two away high scoring games, in Colorado (3-3) and LAFC (1-4), willl have their chances, I see this as a very open game with lots of goals.

My apologies for very short preview here, I wrote the big one, but the main site crashed, no time to write a new one now. Cheers.

          Colorado +1 1.91

In recent years we are used to such odds when these two meet, but I believe the gap between them is not as big anymore. Dallas made a lot of changes in the winter, long time coach Oscar Pareja was replaced by Luchi Gonzales, academy director, so he will keep the similar style of play. Some important players left, defender Figueroa, forwards Urruti and Lamah and they didn't spend much cash to replace them, they promoted some guys from their well known academy, and their biggest signing was Brazilian left back Pedroso.

Colorado had an awful first year under Anthony Hudson and the management decided they need to make big changes in the off season. However, instead of changing the coach, they decided to give him another chance and replace most of the players. This time the plan was to acquire proven MLS veterans who know ins and outs of this league instead of risking with international guys. So they got guys like Feilhaber, Kei Kamara, Diego Rubio, Rosenberry, Nico Mezquida etc. So far they managed to draw two out of three games at home (and lost 0-2 in Seattle), they do look improved from last year, but there's still work to be done.

As usual when playing in FIFA window, both teams will miss some players, for Dallas important midfielders Acosta and Gruezo are with Honduran national team, while first keeper Jesse Gonzalez is also out. Rapids are without Chilean striker Rubio.
I see Rapids as interesting team this season and they are worth backing here imo as Dallas is not the powerhouse team they were. Without their star midfielders I'd dare to say this could be pretty evenly matched game.

            Chicago v NYRB over 2.5 1.82

Brutal start of the season for Chicago thus far. Three games, in all three they had more shots on goal, more goalscoring chances, but they collected only one point. After injury riddled last season, they are now fully healthy, and when that's the case there's a lot of talent in this team, especially going forward. They added Polish national team winger Frankowski in winter, and last week new big money signing Nico Gaitan arrived, so now they even got embarrassment of riches in the attacking part. The problem last season for them and it continued this season is their leaky defense. They added quality goalkeeper Ousted and he is a big upgrade on Sanchez, but their defending hasn't improve much yet, we will see if national team break will help them in that matter.

Red Bulls played in Concacaf Champions League to start the season (eliminated from Santos Laguna), so their first three games fatigue kicked in and they also rotated a lot, so we can say the real thing for them starts now. They got four points in three games so far, and last week they lost at home to Orlando (0-1) in Sacha Kljestan revenge game, but they missed 3/4 of their starting defense and Kaku in that game and it was evident. Red Bulls will try to bounce back tonight with full team available (sans Valot who is out for season with another ACL tear), I am pretty sure they will have their chances vs Chicago defense, and I expect plenty of goals in matinee game in Windy City.

              Vancouver +0.75 1.84

LAFC has dominated the league so far, 19/21 points won so far, Vela and Rossi are clicking on all cylinders and even their defense looks much more solid than last season. On the flip side, Vancouver is still winless in six games, with only 2 points won, so you may say an easy one for LAFC tonight. Not quite, at least I don't agree LA team will have it easy tonight. First I have to say Caps are team in rebuilding mode, and while they are struggling a bit in the start of the season, they are doing it right, they hired a good coach in Marc dos Santos, they got some quality signings in defense and midfield and I expect them to gradually improve as the season goes. Dos Santos was assistant in LAFC last season, so knowing them inside out won't hurt today as well. The thing is even in losses all games so far were very close and they were in it, mostly lacking some cutting edge in attack to swing it their way.

So while LAFC possess attacking quality in abundance, this midweek away game is a perfect sandwich spot for them to rotate and with big game on Sunday vs Seattle in prime time, I don't expect their full focus tonight and possibly some of their stars may be rested. In two games played against top teams so far in BC Place, Caps tied Seattle (0-2) in a very tight game, while they lost to Galaxy (0-2) after missing penalty very early in the game and then flaming out. I expect Dos Santos to close down the spaces tonight and play for the counter as they did in those games and they are very capable of getting a result that way. It's never easy to win away in MLS, especially in midweek games, so I believe there's a very good value with the hosts tonight.

                Orlando -0.75 1.85

I am on Orlando here as I believe this will be 'schedule loss' for the Caps. The thing is, they played last Saturday in Chicago (1-1), then on Wednesday night they got their first win of the season against LAFC (1-0) at home, and now they are playing on Saturday matinee, at noon Pacific time with farthest travel possible in this league (4.200 kilometers) and as little time possible between two games?! Line ups are out and Dos Santos is not rotating, he selected his best eleven and as much as I think this team is pretty decent, I expect they will be very much fatigued. Orlando is not really an example of consistent team, but they are very talented, have their all main guys ready, and with Nani - Dwyer - Mueller trio in attack they will put a lot of pressure on Caps defense from the start, and I expect them to come out on top in the end.
