    Real Madrid - Liverpool

Liverpool played Arsenal away last week and I watched the first half. They asserted dominance and pressed high from the beginning. Their players were sharp and intense. Arsenal lost only once in their previous 6 PL games beating Leicester,Tottenham and Leeds. But Liverpool were so suffocating that they barely were able to leave their half.
We have to be careful with Liverpool as they have already produced several false dawns this season, still, they looked balanced with good understanding between the centrebacks, Fabinho impressing in the middle and Alexander Arnold with Robertson being able to support the attack more than before.

Real Madrid are not that imperious as their fans would like them to be, still, they are in the fight for the La Liga title and the Champions League as well. And we all know what they achieved with Zidane at the helm. This season they did enough to win their group beating e.g. Inter twice, then knocking out Atalanta in the same manner. But they lost spectacularly against Sakhtar in the group-phase at home and I am bringing up this game because Ramos was out. He is out against Liverpool as well, and without him I see Varane as a liability against a high-pressing team.
It should be a good game to watch. I hope to see Liverpool winning it and the odds are value for me. Still, with RM you never know what happens on the field (cue: refereeing).
Considering that Thiago has a taste for needless and untimely tackles, plus he is ex-Barca, which can easily lead to over-enthusiasm, it might be worth betting on him being carded. GL!

Felix Brych is the referee. His statistics show that this season he is more prone to give out yellows in international games (amongst clubs or national teams) than in the domestic leagues. His average is 5. That pays at about 2.3. It is well worth a try in knock-out phase.

Varane tested positive this morning. It looks like he is out.

And Real have the El Classico sandwiched between the CL-games.

          Bayern vs PSG
          Bayern win (AH -1) @2.70

Replay of last year's final, only it is two-legged.
Bayern changed gears after their loss to Frankfurt (15 February) and won 7 games in a row beating the likes of Lazio (twice), Dortmund and Leipzig (these last two are direct rivals in the BL) scoring 23. And now we get the odds for home win at about 2.00 and that is a rarity in Bayern's case. Ok, Lewandowski is out, which is of course a big deal. Gnabry is questionable. Still, they have enough quality players to step up when an opportunity like this is offered.

PSG under Pochettino are not at all convincing. Just to compare, they won only 4 from their last 7 games, while losing against leaders Lille and Nantes, both at home.
They probably played their best match this season against Barcelona away. Then Neymar was out injured while Verratti orchestrated those cutting-edge counters that helped dismantle a not very sharp Barcelona. Now Neymar is back and that I see as a burden for PSG, and Verratti is out which is a huge blow.

There are some rumours about tension between Flick and Salihamidzic but I believe the club will keep this thing inside the club and it won't interfere with their remaining games.

All in all, even without the two attackers I see Bayern as a formidable force while PSG are far from the composure they showed last year in the knockout phase of CL.
I expect the Germans win convincingly today. GL!

Mateu Lahoz from Spain will be the referee tonight. He can smile while giving out yellows. A frustrated Neymar should get one.
