    Rugby Championship

    South Africa vs Australia

This match is played in Robina on the Gold Coast, in Australia.
In their first two matches, South Africa beat Argentina 32-12 and 29-10 in Port Elizabeth.
The Springboks now have 9 points, 1 behind the All Blacks who top the standings.

The Wallabies lost 38-21 to New Zealand in Perth last weekend, their second loss in this tournament after losing their first match to the All Blacks, 57-22 in Auckland.
They made quite a few crucial mistakes against New Zealand and they were unlucky too to have a few intercept tries gone against them.

The Wallabies have made the team announcement and made a few changes to match the game style played by South Africa, as well as trying to find a formula that works best and for longer periods of time during a match.
Among the changes there is a big one at number 10, Quade Cooper, which is a big boost, perfect partner for McDermott.

Australia should be able to at least stay within the handicap against South Africa.
The number of points set for team total is lower than the number of points scored by Australia in their matches against New Zealand, so I'll take that as well.

I also expect Australia to come out firing and score a few points in the first half.

    Bet 1: Australia +11.5 @1.91
Bet 2: Team Total Points - Australia Over 18.5 @1.95
Bet 3: Team Total Points HT - Australia Over 8.5 @1.90

      Rugby Championship

      Australia vs South Africa

Quade Cooper landed a penalty at the death to give the Wallabies a 28-26 victory over the Boks in Robina last week. Cooper was foot perfect in landing 7 penalties and converting Australia's only try.

The Boks scored 3 tries last week, but Handre Pollard missed 2 penalties and a conversion and Damien Willemse also failed to convert South Africa's final try.

The Suncorp Stadium is a ground where points are a bit harder to come by and I am expecting a real arm wrestle here.

Suncorp Stadium has been a fortress for Australian rugby for many years.

I also expect the Boks discipline to improve from last week.

      Bet 1: Under 48.5 points @1.87
Bet 2: Australia [email protected] 1.92
Bet 3: South Africa winning margin: 1-12 @2.75

        Rugby Championship

        Argentina vs New Zealand

The match is played in Australia.

In last Sunday's match against the All Blacks, Argentina crashed to a 39-0 defeat and they remain bottom of the standings. They are the only side in the tournament without a single point.
The All Blacks now have 3 wins from 3 outings and they top the standings with a 5 point lead over South Africa.

New Zealand's victory over Argentina last week was one of the more dominant I have seen and Argentina never looked like crossing the line. Also, aside from a long range missed penalty, they didn't look like scoring at all.
Argentina are a top rugby nation (7th in the world), and they must have taken a good, hard look at themselves after that performance.
I don't expect them to repeat that poor showing and I think they'll come out fighting tonight.
I am still hesitant to take them on the handicap, as New Zealand are always capable of running away with late tries.
However, I think that Argentina will score some points.

Bet 1: Argentina over 6.5 HT points @1.90
Bet 2: Argentina over 13.5 FT points @1.93

          Rugby - Gallagher Premiership

          Newcastle Falcons vs Harlequins

Harlequins are the defending champions, however for this match they are missing several players. They have several debutants and some new additions.
The Falcons played very well at home last year and they even beat this team. They should be good enough to stay within the handicap.
Also considering factors like new season start and playing at home in front of their fans, they should be ready to put on a good show.

          Bet 1: Falcons +6.0 @1.84
Bet 2: Team Total Points - Falcons Over 22.5 @1.81

Adding another bet to the above.
I found a lower total line, and with the good weather for rugby,as well some changes to the rules, especially the 50/22 kick, which can lead to scoring tries, I'm taking the overs as well.

            Bet 3: Over 49.5 points @1.76

              Rugby - English Premiership

              London Irish vs Sale Sharks

London Irish games are high scoring. They have the talent to score points when they play at home, and as well as scoring, their defence is leaky.
Their home games last season saw many high scoring matches.
In the first game of the season, they lost away to Worcester 24-36.
The Sharks are not the same team that went deep into the play-offs last season, however they still play at a good level to score enough points here to go over the total line.

              Bet: Over 46.5 points @1.92

                Rugby - Bunning NPC

                Northland vs Waikato

This is a match between the bottom team against Premiership leaders, however head coach George Konia has named an experienced team to face Waikato.

After four losses, Konia is acutely aware of the need for Northland to put in an 80-minute performance with a strong focus on execution and accuracy.
Last round against Manawatu, they executed poorly, but they've had a good week at training and they hope to put up a good performance this week.

Both teams have had high scoring encounters between them as well as this season so far.

                Bet 1: Total Points Over 54.5 @1.80
Bet 2: Team Total - Northland Over 17.5 Points @1.82
                Bet 3: Total Tries Over 7.5 @2.00

                  Rugby Championship

                  Argentina vs Australia

The match is played in Australia.
This is the last round of the Rugby Championship. Australia are sitting second on the ladder with 3 wins and 2 defeats, while Argentina lost all their 5 matches so far.
They were hanging on at times last week in their first match against Australia, but still lost by 19 points (27-8).
The long time spent away from home under Covid conditions, in South Africa and now in Australia, is already taking its toll. Argentina's miserable championship looks like coming to a miserable end, with 6 players ruled out due to breaking Covid protocols.
I think their minds are already on the plane back to Buenos Aires.

We haven't seen such a poor Argentina side for quite a while. They are a shadow of the side that beat New Zealand last year and drew against Australia two times.
While Argentina are a team who are going through a slump, the opposite is true of Australia, who are on the up after some impressive results this year.
After back-to-back wins against the World Champions South Africa, followed by last week's victory over Argentina, the Wallabies will be keen to finish the tournament on a high with a polished performance.

                  Bet 1: Australia -16.5 @1.84
Bet 2: Team Total Points - Australia Over 33.5 @1.90
Bet 3: Team Total Points - Argentina Under 17.5 @1.75

                    Rugby Championship

                    South Africa vs New Zealand

The match is played in Australia.
This is the last round of the Rugby Championship. New Zealand are sitting comfortably at the top of the ladder, while South Africa are coming into this match after 3 consecutive defeats, sitting on third, 2 points behind Australia who plays earlier.
In the first match against each other that they played last week, New Zealand won a very tight match through a penalty kick at the death, 19-17. However, coach Foster wasn't happy with their performance and he wants redemption after a less than convincing display last week.
He made very few changes to the squad, replacing only those players who didn't convince. He put back a large part of that team out again as "it is going to be important to get the lessons".

The All Blacks were poor by their standards last week and they still found a way to win and I suspect that a tired Boks team, who have been playing since the British & Irish Lions tests in July, will battle to replicate the intensity required to test this New Zealand side.
At some point I am expecting the floodgates to open.

                    Bet: New Zealand -9.5 @1.88

                      Rugby - Bunnings NPC

                      Hawke's Bay vs Tasman

The weather is nice in Napier and I expect this game will be played in the same vein as yesterday's Wellington vs Canterbury game, close and high scoring (35-30).

                      Bet 1: Over 51.5 points @1.87
Bet 2: Team Total Points - Tasman Over 27.5 @1.90
Bet 3: Team Total Points - HB Over 23.5 @1.84

                        Rugby - Bunnings NPC

                        Otago vs Taranaki

Taranaki are leading the Championship Division with 4 wins. They beat three Premiership sides and have a very strong team.

                        Bet 1: Taranaki -7.5 @1.87
Bet 2: Team Total Points - Taranaki Over 34.5 @1.86

                          Hawke's Bay vs Tasman
                          Otago vs Taranaki

Tasman have named a strong team for this match. They are also leading the Premiership division.
Taranaki have had one week rest and will come out firing.

                          Bet 1: Tasman + Taranaki @2.19
Bet 2: Team Total Points (Alternative) - Tasman over 22.5 + Taranaki over 29.5 @1.90

                            United Rugby Championship

                            Leinster vs Zebre

Leinster are a top, strong team, current champions, dominating the championship along with Ulster and Munster. Last week they had a poor performance against the Dragons, a match they scrambled over the finish line to win by just 1 point.
Zebre are a poor team, they struggle to avoid the last spot. Last week they were beaten by Ulster at home, 3-36, which is a very good indicator of where this match may go.
Big teams bounce back after poor performances, and I expect Leinster to do just that.

                            Bet: Leinster -34.5 @1.91

                              Rugby - Gallagher Premiership

                              Wasps vs Northampton Saints

This is a match between two attack-minded teams who tend to play running rugby.

The Saints have been very good at taking their goal kicks, while the Wasps have been getting about two-thirds of their 3-point kicks.

As for the lineout, Wasps have been almost perfect, losing just one of their 32 throws, however the Saints have been very good at stealing the opposition ball.

The Wasps are expected to score their share of points however, as the Saints have conceded 20 points or more in each of their three wins this season.
Saints, who make three changes to their side for Sunday's trip, while welcoming back some key players, including England flanker Courtney Lawes, have won on three of their last four visits to Coventry in all competitions, including last season when they did the double over Wasps.
The Saints have had a very good start to their season, having won all their three games, including winning away to Exeter, the current champions.

                              Bet 1: Over 51.5 points @1.85
                              Bet 2: Team Total - Saints Over 25.5 @1.93
                              Bet 3: Saints +3.5 @1.87

                                Scarlets vs Munster

Scarlets are fielding a strong team with many internationals, while Munster are in with a second string team.

                                Bet: Scarlets -5.5 @1.84
