    Rugby International

    Australia vs France

France are without a number of regular starters but they were 15-0 up at some point in the first half, and after 5 minutes they scored the first try. They held the lead until making a mess of the opportunity to gain a first win on Australian soil since 1990, when conceding a decisive penalty at the death.

The Wallabies lacked accuracy, gave up soft points early (including an intercept try) and they keep the same team for tonight, with only one minor change.

Other than those early tries, due to lack of accuracy, the Wallabies dominated the match and didn't look like being in danger of conceding any more after that.
The French defended with grit and determination and Australia just missed chance after chance.

The French coach made seven changes to the team, as they want to win tonight and level the series.
The Wallabies coach wasn't happy with the win, as it was only at the death that Australia snatched a last gasp win.
Coach Rennie believes there is considerable improvement left in his team after what he described as a "substandard" performance in the first Test at Suncorp Stadium.

The Wallabies have not impressed last week, and while they won the match, I think they are in for another tough game.

    Bet 1: France winning margin 1-7 @6.00
    Bet 2: Australia winning margin 1-7 @4.20
    Bet 3: Under 48.5 points @1.83

      Rugby Union, Lions Tour

South Africa "B" vs British & Irish Lions

Despite the problems posed by Covid outbreaks in the Springbok camp the line up is a strong one. However, the cancellation of their second Test against Georgia means that the South Africa players are seriously undercooked compared to the Lions, in match and training time together.

With the Boks needing to give key members of their squad game time, this match has taken on some added spice. People are calling it a test but it is important to remember that it is not. Both sides are still preparing for next weekend's Test match. That's why it may not reach the intensity of a Test match, and instead of going for the posts and score 3 points, I think they will go to the corner and score some tries.

There is no such thing as a weak Lions team on this tour. They have with them the best players in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. They have had more match practice together and I expect them to be sharper here.

The Cape weather is nice and the surface should be in great shape.

While the Springboks haven't had enough game time, I am not convinced that the Lions defence has been truly tested on tour yet, and when it was put under pressure on Saturday against the Sharks it did open up and the Sharks scored 5 tries.

Peyper is one of the best referees in the world and he likes the match to flow, therefore the likelihood of points being scored increases.

      Bet 1: Total Tries Over 5.5 @1.96
      Bet 2: B&I Lions @1.70
      Bet 3: B&I Lions Over 24.5 points @1.90

        Rugby International

        New Zealand vs Fiji

Last week NZ won 57-23 in an entertaining match in which the All Blacks scored 9 tries. At half time NZ led 21-11.
Fiji have a world class coach and they have their European players.

        Bet 1: NZ Over 7.5 tries @1.83
Bet 2: Fiji HT over 6.5 points @1.91

          Rugby International

          Australia vs France

We've had two very tight matches so far, as this France team, although full of newcomers and players who haven't played much for Les Bleus, basically players who haven't played together for France, showed a lot of grit and determination. Both matches were decided at the end, 23-21 to Australia in the first match and 28-26 to France in the second.
For this match both coaches made changes to their teams, and while I expect the same fighting spirit from France, I think that the Wallabies can do better tonight.
In both games there were glimpses of what the Wallabies are looking to bring to the game but it just didn**8217;t quite work out for them. I**8217;m hoping things change tonight.

Bet: Australia Over 25.5 points @1.85

            Rugby International

            Wales vs Argentina

Last week Wales started as favourites and the match ended 20-20. Argentina have a strong team and they beat the All Blacks in November last year 25-15.
The first test absolutely went down to the wire but it was the visitors who caught the eye given the fact that they spent the majority of the game playing with 14 men, as they got a red card in the first half. With stalwarts like Montoya, Sanchez and Matera in their ranks I**8217;m happy to back the South Americans to get the job done at the second time of asking.

            Bet: Argentina @1.90

              Rugby - Lions Tour

Stormers vs British & Irish Lions

The previous matches between the Lions and South African clubs ended in wins by more than 40 points to the Lions.
The Lions backline looks very strong, while the Stormers lineup is thin on depth.
I think the Lions will resume normal business after their South Africa A loss a couple of days ago (13-17).
It**8217;s Gatland**8217;s (Lions coach) last opportunity to fine tune his tactics ahead of the first test (the main match of the tour against World Champions South Africa).
The visitors lacked some of their growl against the South Africa **8220;A**8221; team, but I**8217;m expecting the Lions to be back to their slick, efficient and ruthless best in this final prep game.
Stormers will struggle to keep things tidy.

              Bet: B&I Lions -36.5 @1.84

A triple based on the above:

                France +13.5 @1.33 + Argentina +8.5 @1.28 + B&I Lions -27.0 @1.28
                Total odds @2.20

                  Rugby - Lions Tour
Stormers vs British and Irish Lions

Further to my preview above I'm adding these bets.

                  Bet 2: Stormers Under 16.5 points @1.85
                  Bet 3: Lions over 7.5 tries @1.89

                    Lions Tour
Stormers vs British and Irish Lions

In the previous matches against club teams, the Lions ran away with the match in the second half. The Liins are a selection of the best players in the British Isles and the Stormers are anyway at a much lower level.

                    Bet 4: Lions second half -19.5 @1.91

                      Rugby - Currie Cup

                      Lions vs Griquas

Cold day in Joburg today and some wind, but the surface should be good and the Lions love to spread the ball. Rasta on the whistle and he is a good ref who likes a free flowing game.

The Lions pack is solid as rock and they have some power to call on from the bench as well. This could turn into a long day at the office for the visitors.

                      Bet 1: Lions - 6.5 @1.80
                      Bet 2: Over 58.5 points @1.83
                      Bet 3: Total tries over 7.5 @2.00
Bet 4: Team Total - Lions Over 33.5 points @1.83

                        Rugby - Currie Cup

                        Cheetahs vs Sharks

The Cheetahs played 2 days ago and the Sharks had a break.
The second half will be critical, as the Cheetahs may have tired legs and a fresh Sharks side can capitalise.

                        Bet 1: Sharks -5.5 FT @1.84
                        Bet 2: Sharks -3.5 2nd Half @1.80

                          Rugby - Currie Cup

                          Pumas vs Western Province

The Pumas play very well at home where they beat the Lions and the Griquas, which is very good form considering the Griquas are top of the table.
WP have been awful and will be tired after playing two days ago.
The Pumas to win at home.

                          Bet: Pumas @1.72

                            Rugby - Currie Cup

                            Bulls vs Lions

The Bulls have named a strong team and the Lions have been poor and they played 3 days ago.

The Lions may still have that game in their legs, so the Bulls can win this one by a big margin

                            Bet: Bulls -13.5 @1.87

                              Rugby International

South Africa vs British & Irish Lions

This is the first Test match of the Lions of their tour in South Africa.

The Lions will probably win the series as they have had the better preparation in the lead up to this game (they played several South African clubs and a good South Africa 'A' selection, and have been holding a lot back in their early matches.
By contrast the Springboks are not quite as powerful in the pack as they were in the World Cup final.
South Africa are the Rugby World Champions while the British & Irish Lions is a selection of the best players in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

The betting shows that this match will be very tight and it is difficult to pick a winner.
The Total Points line is very low, around 41.5, and that is understandable as this should be a really tight game.
In such matches the teams go for the 3 pointers when on offer, so I'll go for an unders tries play instead.

Both teams will put plenty of emphasis on defence and I expect we will go for long periods of play without a try, as is typical in such games.

Also in the previous Lions tour in New Zealand a few years ago, the scores were low and the teams went for the sticks.
I think we'll get 3 tries or less in this game.

                              Bet: Under 3.5 tries @1.97

                                Olympics - Rugby 7s

                                USA vs Kenya

The USA have Perry Baker, who has twice been world player of the year. He is sublime and the USA are a real threat too.
They also have Isles, the fastest rugby 7s player in the world.
USA have been beating Kenya for the past few years in all tournaments and the scores between these two sides are high.
Also, in this morning's session, all scores have been high, in hot and humid conditions, making it easier to penetrate defences with tired legs, especially on a full size pitch with 7 players trying to cover it.

                                Bet 1: USA -11.5 @1.90
                                Bet 2: Over 38.5 points @1.83
