Super Rugby
Hurricanes vs Highlanders
Regardless of the result in this match, the Hurricanes will end the tournament with the wooden spoon. They come into the final round with a poor record of just 1 win and 6 defeats, but they came close to victory in each of their last 2 matches.
In Round 9 the Canes visited the Chiefs who were closing in on a place in the final. It was a nip and tuck game but the Hurricanes held the lead going into the closing stages only for the Chiefs to land the decisive penalty right at the death to come out on top 26-24.
Prior to that the Canes pushed the Crusaders hard before losing to a golden time drop goal (27-27 full time) in a home fixture.
The Highlanders were on a bye last week and the results confirmed they are no longer in contention for a place in the final. The Landers have a record of 3 wins and 4 defeats and they are fourth best.
The Highlanders have had a wretched run of injuries with Fetuli Paea, Ngatungane Punivai, Freedom Vahaakolo, Thomas Umaga-Jensen and Connor Garden-Bachop all currently side-lined.
With Josh Ioane also ruled out at the last minute due to an injury at training, I'll take the Hurricanes to get another win, after coming agonizingly close two times before.
Bet 1: Hurricanes -2.0 @1.79
Bet 2: Team Total Tries - Hurricanes Over 3.5 @1.70
