    Odds comparison website - feedback

    Guys,

I'm giving you a chance to be included in an odds comparison website development.

Tell me what it is that you're missing with all the existing odds comparison websites, which one is your favorite one and why.

From New year I'll have an odds comparison website of my own and if you give me any hints on how should a proper odds website look like I might just use them. And then you'll have a website available which has that option.

For me, they're all frustrating and clumsy, that's why I'm building this one. I suppose the actual odds should be dominant on the website, and not all the flashy things and hard-to-find options. So my favorite is Betexplorer, because it's simple.

Which widgets do you guys use? Dropping odds? Moving asian lines? Let me know...

    For me most important is:
1.) odds reliable and quickly updated
2.) variety of sports and betting options like ASH, O/U, HT/FT, DNB
3.) the more bookies the better

For me OddsPortal works best - I still miss some bookies there and now and then a sports but anyway they meet pretty perfectly my needs.

If I had the money and efforts to do such site, I would include these:

        1. History of starting price and last price before start of the match and also the time of the movement for all the relevant Bookies (I think Oddsportal has this feature).
        2. Easy check of the betting volume matched from Betfair on each of the signs 1, X, and 2 and also for the AH
        3. Perhaps you could try some analysis on the movement of odds (something like the technical analysis for the ForEx trade - suport/resist levels)

If you put the first two things on your site, I will gladly place an advert to your site on my own - Infobettor.

          Appreciated, guys.

I personally use OddsOddsOdds when I need their easy-to-use Combo feature, and am not using OddsPortal because it's just too flashy.

Hands down, OddsPortal is probably the best one out there, I will have something equally strong but with easier navigation. I don't think anyone so far successfully solved the problem on how to display all that data and make it easy to navigate. I believe I did. Let's wait and see.

There will be 150+ bookies included, which is more than OddsPortal (75+), BetExplorer (70+), and equal to BetBrain (150) but they require registration and I will not.

Unlike BetExplorer and OddsOddsOdds, I will have all betting options.

Now I guess it all boils down to different widgets and options within the website.

saint_mario, we will have option #1, but option #2 is not something we can do at the moment. I wouldn't even know where to start, I didn't use betting exchanges much, that's a different world.

          Planned widgets:
          * Live odds movement (with time of change)
          * Live asian odds movement (with time of change)
          * Combo box, displaying top 10 bookmakers for the ticket
          * Dropping odds
          * Sure bets
          * Top list of the bookies according to their average odds in the current betting offer (could be cool to monitor the results!)
          * Top list of the bookies according to the number of different bets they're giving

We'll see how many of these will be possible to implement in the first run. But anyway, even with the simplest version in January we'll have 150+ bookies, all betting offers and a simple navigation to use it all.

I'm still listening to suggestions. Anything you say may help.

Something I forgot to mention which is important but I'm sure you included is a Search Field where you can put in a team name and get listed available bets.

              I forgot about that one.

You mean, I search for "Milan" and then all the bets ON Milan are displayed, or the entire betting offer for the match?

Thats what I was thinking of. Really helps a lot if you're in a hurry with a bet.

Also something that most odds comparison sites don't offer is:
                    - Under / Over on Teams and
                    - Both Teams to Score

In the first version there will be no widgets (odds history, moving asian handicap lines, combo box, dropping odds, safe bets, search function) to facilitate the testing phase and achieving perfection with the initial design.

But still the website will have these traits:
                      a) the fastest-loading odds comparison website
                      b) unique navigation
                      c) 150+ bookies
                      d) odds update every 1 minute
                      e) no flash, no banners, no registration, no distractions

About the bet types, it is expected we'll have only the basic betting offer at first (1x2, over/under) to thouroughly test the engine. In January all other options will be added, including Both to Score and everything you can imagine.

I think that in the initial design I'll already add one function which may matter a lot in the long run. During the day the website will be white, and during the night it will be black. To save eyes in a dark room.

So, the website should have a clean simple design. I personally don't like websites such as OddsPortal.com, which are too flashy and colorful.

Do you guys like that design or would you prefer a clean design? (BA has a clean design, though outdated...)

Do bookie pay to be in odds comparison website? Maybe they pay to be more 'exposed'? Or they just OK with affiliate links?

This is what I was trying to figure out too. And perhaps its depends how big rush the website has. I guess when its really big they may claim bookies to pay them.

Imo OddsPortal is outstanding so far in every aspects.
Lot of bookies I would never get or have to pay for at BetBrain, lots of sports, easy navigation and flashy?? Ok - on the right side they have some bookies but that does not barger me. I prefer this than to pay for a worse website that's less flashy.

I've never been on an odds comparison website which asks me to pay.

Which one are you talking about?
