    Asian handicap question...

I read a lot of pages about AH lately and i must say that i believe i understood with integer handicaps and with half handicaps (hope so).
I read about quarter handicaps but that didn't catch my attention and i am not too interested in it.

Please help me about this problem, tell me if my judgement is right.
I consider an international friendly comming in couple of days:
 South Africa (+0.5) Vs. England (-0.5). 1.82  2.12
Consider i bet on South Africa.
I will win this bet if home side wins or draws and i will lose it if England wins.
So the odd 1.82 is a 1X bet and the odd 2.12 is a 2 bet.
But the 2.12 odd corresponding to this 2 is not equal to the straight 2 odd (1.83) from the same bookie (Pointbet).

I am sure i am wrong with something about this so please tell me what is wrong.

    See ya :!:

I think I asked the exact same question here:

Thanks for the guide, i've already read that, but my question was not regarding +0.5 and double chance odds, i asked about +0.5 and straight odd.

      South Africa (+0.5) Vs. England (-0.5). 1.82 :arrow:2.12

So if i take 2 then England has to win for me to win the bet, so odds on 2 with -0.5 handicap is 2.12, but if i take them straigth to win the odd is 1.83.

So i am talking about straigth bets afterall... but with different odds at the same bookie.

      What am i thinking wrong...???

Nothing... It is a paradox of asian handicap -0,5. Bookies finances(I don`t know how it is called this fianancial operations etc.) and odds bookies payouts are made in such way that England(-0,5) is at higher odds then straight England win altrhough this two bets are exactly the same. It is up to that straight win is in 3 way option(1X2) and have other calculations then asian -0,5 (two options 1 and 2)

Before some time I noticed same thing as Blackhol3, but I thought that I don't understand asian handicap.... Are those bookies idiots???
Ken Rosenberg: Of course my client looks guilty. Just because he looks guilty doesn't mean he is. You look like an idiot, but that doesn't mean you are.

            Thanks a lot for helping.
I will now wait for the bookies which offer the highest odd on an away win to have this kind of handicap.
If Interwetten offers 2.10 for an away win, will they offer... let's say 2.30 for a -0.5 on England????

            Good luck!
