Metalist vs Sporting Lisbon = 1 (2.10) stake 5/10

Preview:
Metalist:
injured: Fininho (Defender 14/2);
Suspended: Papa Gueye (Defender 20/0), Marco Torsiglieri (defender 3/1), Cleiton Xavier (midfielder 22/9).
Sporting Lisbon:
Suspended: Daniel Carriço (defender 15/1);
Injured: Onyewu (defender 14/4), Rodriguez (defender 7/0), Pereirinha (midfielder 8/0), Rinaudo (midfielder 10/0), Jeffren (midfielder 8/3).
The first leg ended with a score of 2-1 to Sporting Lisbon. The Metalist landed for the first time to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League semi-final should be able to aspire to win, even 1-0 would be enough to overturn the deficit. Coach Myron Markevich said that his players must play the football that they prefer the offensive trying to avoid conceding a goal. An offensive department who scored 26 goals so far in the tournament. The same coach hopes his players do a performance with the necessary determination to bring to its goal of qualifying for the semifinals.

Describer, you are a Metalist fan, right?

Who will gonna replace Torsiglieri and Gueye ?
I already knew Torsiglieri from the matches he played in Sporting team last season. Gueye does not seem to be much better. Really strong guy, but slow as hell.
These central defenders substitutes are even worse?
Is that the case, I only can see Sporting scoring a goal at least. Capel, Fernandez, Volkswinkell and Izmailov rested this weekend in order to give everything on Ucrania.

But Metalist wingers are also great players, specially tayson. Both teams 2 score, seems a logic bet, but to be honest I didn't check the odd.

Are they important? Torsiglieri and Gueye? I watched the 1st leg, and Metalist looked very dangerous, i think they should finish the job tonight, or maybe 2-1 at least, and extra time....

Sporting have a very poor away record recently...

Yes.

Your logic has its merits, but there's one thing you cannot know. Thing is, those central defenders who will come out today have a lot to fight for. Both are Metalist veterans for whom this might be the last chance in their career not only to achieve trophy, but also contract extension. One, Milan Obradovic, who played as left back in first game, was in the team since it only begun becoming a third force in Ukraine, he never won any trophys and he has no contract past this season yet. So for him this game is surely an apex of his career - play good, get new 2-year contract, or play bad and retire, or return to some second-echelon Serbian club. Second one, Berezovchuk, is even more of a veteran, having played with team in lower divisions God knows when, then taking a break to play in other clubs. He has a reputation of strong defender by Ukrainian league standards, he was even considered into NT once, but he always had a weak mentality - playing amazing against weaker teams or stronger teams without motivation, but mostly failing in very tense games. Its he who denied Metalist quarter-final of UEFA Cup in 2009, when he scored own goal in decisive return leg against compatriots and local rivals Dinamo Kiev. So he has to redeem himself now, or, like in Obradovic case, find himself as either reserve player or in weaker club. So, these replacements are not too bad, but not to good either, they will however fight this game to the best they can.

My prediction of Metalist squad -

Goryainov
Villagra-Obradovic-Berezovchuk-Pshenychnykh
Torres-Xavier-Sosa-Blanco
Taison-Cristaldo

xavier cant play,i think edmar gonna substitute him,i saw 1 leg and metalist play very well and 2-0 would be too much for sporting that cant play carrico and renato will play,he is not that good.
lets see,i think sporting is a very nervous team in the end of the macth and usually karkhiv is very good in the last moments

I see a great value in Sporting. They are more then capable to preserve their positive result and to qualify to semi finals.Generally they are better team than Metalist and i think they will go thorough to the next stage.

Pick: Sporting +0.5 asian handicap @ 1.8 in Stan James

First do background checks before you spill out all kinds of BS about suspensions. You get a suspension after 3! yellow cards Xavier only received two so far.

My god, 7 post and 2 of them are just plain wrong.

LOL@first post confirms it, just LOL. Posting the same comment moreoften does not make it right

I think Metalist should win this game.
Ukraine is though place to play, in the league Sporting only won 5 times away from home, scoring 12 goals and conceding 13.
both teams are taking this game seriously but in my opinion the home advantage will decide between the teams.

Sporting away Europe League, this season:

Zürich 0 - 2 Sporting CP .
Vaslui 1 - 0 Sporting CP
Lazio 2 - 0Sporting CP
Legia Warszawa 2 - 2 Sporting
Manchester City 3 - 2 Sporting

Zurich win, was a natural victory, Zurich played like s*it this season.
Against Vaslui, Sporting was already qualified, and played with only 3 or 4 players from the starting eleven.
Against lazio, the 1st position was already secured, no players from the starting eleven, if I remember well.
Against Legia, on the first leg, 2-2 was a great result, even if granted with a lucky long range shoot, on the end of the match.
Finally the City match, was one of those crazy matches, where Sporting smashed during the first-half (0-2), but during second-half a stupid penalty from a unexperienced player (Neto only 20y), and a loss of concentration from Carrillo (another boy with 20y), let city return to the game.

Well, in my opinion Sporting has lots of potential on Matias, Volks, Capel and Izma. I think Sporting will proceed to semi-finals, with a score like 1-1 or 2-2.

Thanks for your reply.
In my opinion, the players motivation its on TOP for both teams, and for every player on the field. Metalist and Sporting are playing the season on this match, motivation won't make any difference today!
We can talk about motivation when we talk about a manchester city x sporting, or manchester united x bilbao, but not on this case.

Today what count is: physical condition, talent and inspiration!

Kharkiv had chances to qualify. They also have a more dangerous team. I fancy Kharkiv more, sorry they are out. It's unbelieveable Sporting could beat Man City and Kharkiv. Team like Sporting doesn't belong in the semis of Europa League.
