Pick 9 +157
Partizan-Arsenal
Pick: Over 3.5 goals
Odds: 3.10 SPORTINGBET
1:3, WON, +210
Arsenal is one of the most followed club for over backers and this one will be another goal-fest IMO. Gunners struggling on defence. Wenger did not buy any reliable, decent stpoper and with the absence of Vermaelen, they don***8217;t give confidence at the back, they also have an unreliable keeper, Almunia. Almunia is said to be out for this game, his replacement Fabianski is another walking-disaster. Fabregas, Van Persie, Walcott and Bendtner are other absents. Apart from Fabregas, they can be replaced. But I think players like Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky and Chamakh will be enough for Partizan. People and punters should not forget that, this is Arsenal and they are playing in an attractive way for years. Footballers come and go but Wenger***8217;s system always live. Some Serbian friends say it will be really hard to play in Partizan. I had similar thoughts before our game against Arsenal two years ago, and I was not alone, even Gunners***8217; fans were scared to play in Turkey. There was a decent atmosphere but scoreline was 2-5 in favour of Arsenal. It was the best football until I watch Barcelona in my life. They could make it 2-10. This team play great football and it is enough to crush teams like that Fener and this Partizan. Fabregas could be a much more big blow if Nasri could not show some improvements but he did. My main concern for this bet is Arsenal***8217;s weekend game against Chelsea. If they lead 2-0 or 3-0, they can slow down tempo but due to unreliable defenders and keeper, Partizan could score one to make this bet easier. I watched Partizan against Shakhtar and they suck on defence. Over 3.5 at 3.10 is so good to miss.

Chelsea FC---Olympique de Marseille
2:0, LOST, -100
At Stamford Bridge stadium, we expect the second round match of Group F , Chelsea host Olympique de Marseille . In the first round, Chelsea have won Zilina away and Marseille lost at home to Spartak Moscow 0-1 . Manager Carlo Ancelotti say that he will not make any radical changes despite their first league defeat this season at Manchester City .
His words :
We have to pay attention; Marseille need points from this game because they lost their first match, but I don't need to see a reaction from my players [after losing on Saturday]. Marseille are a good team. They have good organisation and attacking play and are quick. From the start I wouldn't change anything about how we line up and we have good players on the bench who will be able to come on if necessary.
Yossi Benayoun,Salomon Kalou , Didier Drogba, will not play for Chelsea. Deschamps has a fully-fit squad .
Although Didier Drogba will not play, we can expect an open match in which both teams can score a goal.
Best choice would be over 2.5, but for the purposes of POD my choice is :
Chelsea-Marseille : OVER 3.5
bet365 ODDS---2.63

Note that i have copied this pick from previous day thread, cause seems that this match because of rain delay will not start before 10:00 CET which is the latest allowable time for previous day thread. Thanks!
Pick #10 4-0-5 (+223)
Tennis, WTA Tokyo
Bartoli Marion - Ivanovic Ana
Pick: 1 (-1.5)
Odds: 3.50
Bookie: William Hill
VOID this one, its started on time and won, but even if it has been delayed, it would count in the previous day thread.
For my last pick in September I have decided to take straight sets win of Marion Bartoli over Ana Ivanovic. By the bookies Ivanovic is favorite in this match, but in my opinion Bartoli will not just win but it should be easy straight sets victory fo her.
Reasons: Well, Ana Ivanovic has better mutual score, she won three of four mutual meetings so far. But that's it. All other in my opinion is on the side of Marion Bartoli. She has far better ranking. Bartoli is on high 14th WTA position, while Ivanovic is only at 38th WTA place. Until recently,Ivanovic who in the past was world No.1, has had even lower ranking. But thanks to semifinal at Cincinnati and round 16 at US Open, she is now on 38th position. But already in her first appearance after US Open (Seoul, South Korea) she again played a desperate match (vs Vera Dushevina) and reminded us all why, until recently, was not even among the top 60 world players.
I am convinced that she will never return to world top and that those two successful tournaments at Cincinnati and US Open was just two exceptions which will be very little by the end of her career. Here in first round of Tokyo Ivanovic beat Alisa Kleybanova, but in my opinion it was only thanks to the fact that Kleybanova one day earlier has finished long tournament in Seoul where she won title.
But today against much stronger and not tired Bartoli, Ivanovic in my opinion is with no chance.

PICK #10 (3-0-6 -182)
HOCKEY, FINLAND, SM LIGA
HPK vs KALPA
PICK: HPK -1,5@3.40
BOOKIE: LADBROKES
2:2, LOST, -100
Both teams started this season well with 4 and 5 points after two games, but they remained at this number after that. HPK lost two in a row and Kalpa lost three since then.
HPK, last season's runner up, lost away at Karpat (4:3) and in the last round at home against Tappara (2:4). They haven't played badly in neither of these two games and we can say they deserved a bit more. Many new players came this season, so it might take some time to for them to adapt, but from what I have seen lately their game has improved. They also have quite solid defense and one of the best goalies in this league.
Kalpa became a strong team over the past two seasons, however they also changed a lot this summer as several very important players left the team. They started well, but now they seem to be in a downtrend. They look really poor in attack this season, well at least this was the case so far. They were outshot by a huge margins in every single game but the one against Jokerit ***8211; probably because Jokerit had so many penalties in that game. So far they scored only 8 goals in 5 games! Their defense looks better, especially their goalie, but this just can't go forever. In their last three losses they scored only twice and conceded 10 goals. In their last game Saipa outshot them by 37-16 and a game before that Blues by 38-16!
I couldn't find a thing about HPK's injuries, but I found that Kalpa will miss at least three players today. Experienced defender Timonen got injured in a game against Saipa and will be out for two months. Winger Salo and important defender Mashur (played several seasons for top swedish teams) are also out. One of the best scorers for Kalpa over the past few seasons, Kiiskiinen missed the last game against Saipa due to a stomach flu and is questionable for today.
Anyway, hockey is a tricky game, but in current situation I have to give an edge to HPK here. Kalpa seems too poor attacking-wise at the moment and like I said before, their goalie can't save them everytime. Odds are really nice, but IMO they reflect mostly on the past two seasons, so I wouldn't set them much higher than at evens at the moment. So we have a nice value here! Handicap for the POD!
Good luck!

Football, Champions League
Ajax - Milan
Pick: over3.5
Odds: 3.50
Bookie: WillHill
1:1, LOST, -100
IMO this game has all the chances to be open and offensive affair with goals involved in it too. Ajax, after losing last round in Madrid, has no other choice here than to go for a win, if they want to proceed to play-offs, so I don't expect them to wait for a chances on counters, they're not that kind of team, especially playin' at home and defense they has is vulnerable and shaky, while offense is the best part of the team with comin' back from suspension Suarez and in-form striker El-Hamdaoui, so I suppose they'll try to rely on their strenghts and will play with more attention to offense. While Milan with signing of Ibrahimovic, Robinho might become a headache to every defensive line. Maybe they still needs time to know each other better, to find chemistry, but IMO it's only a matter of time, Zlatan already proves his worth with scoring almost in each game, so Ajax defense will have hell of the task to cope with Milan's offensive weapons. However, I don't rate Milan's defense as rock solid and expect Ajax to have their chances too.
So generally, both team's strenghts lies in offense, while defenses are far from bein' stable, so I'd be surprised to see this game as cautious and defensive minded. It's hard to choose the winner here, but IMO goals should come one way or another. GL

AIK vs Djurgården(-1.5)
pick: AW
odds: 2.45 @ expekt
5:2, LOST, -100
Stockholm derby deluxe here. Now they move into the big globe and play in front of a massive fanbase that really hate eachother.
Djurgården are big brother and has a better squad. Haven't really kicked of yet for them with only one win in four tries. AIK has the same record but they are newcomers and nobody expect them to win anything but to get relegated directly.
Last round AIK lost 3-0 to Färjestad, I think was the burst of the bubble for AIK. They have a roster full of unexperienced players and they will only get so far with one man in defence(Tärnström). Other than that it is a team full of squadplayers that barely would make it into any of the other teams rosters.
Djurgården have a great team with players like Ekman, Ottosson, Widing, Falk, Tjärnqvist and Ölvestad that have so much routine amongst them that they can win this game just on that. Add to that the youngsters Krüger, Brodin, Norman and Cehlin that will all be national players in a few years.
So far AIK has been my nemisis in the POD but I think 3 time is the charm and now is the time to bet on Djurgården A sure win but I think it could be a big one too........

Champions League
AJ Auxerre - Real Madrid
pick: Real to win by one
odds: 3.75
bookie: betsafe
0:1, WON, +250
It seems that Mourinho getting older every day with Real's "stars" as I didn't see him so nervous in previous seasons . However they won in first match against Ajax , created many chances and scored only two goals but the guests played very unmotivated in this match and probably they came to Madrid to loose ... Tonight Real will have most difficult match knowing the fact that Auxerre is tight team especially when they play at home ground . Hosts will go into this match motivated , the great Real Madrid is coming for the first time , fans will be delighted with some positive result and everybody expects much from this match. Auxerre's players will try to make a use of bad atmosphere in the team of Real Madrid after their drew match against big underdogs in Spanish Primera , Levante. Auxerre's coach have some problems with the squad as their best striker last season Jelen will be absent for this match. Also Anthony Le Tallec and Yaya Sanogo are injured. For the guests Fernando Gago , Raul Albiol , Sergio Canales, Ezequiel Garay and Kaka all remain on the sidelines.
So , in my opinion we have the host who will fight for every part of the pitch and guests who are most quality team on paper and who came in France to take three points from this match . Cristiano Ronaldo still haven't find his form this season , he is desperate to score in every match and maybe his selfishness is the reason for bad realisation of the team of Real Madrid . I expect great battle in this match , the hosts will try not to loose but I think that individual qualities of Real players will decide the winner ... So narrow win for the guests is my choice here ...

Pick 9# 2-0-6/ - 330 pts
English League One: Bristol Rovers (-1EH) v Tranmere ***8211; Home @ 3.50 @ William Hill
0:1, LOST, -100
Bristol Rovers are playing in progress and have moved up to 13th seat following their four games unbeaten run (DDWW) of which two wins in last two games. They***8217;ve won 3-0 at second bottom Dagenham ten days ago and followed by a 2-1 home win on 15th placed Notts County. They are in very good form and will play with confidence. They will look forward to the win which can allow up to move much higher up as ten teams in front of them have no more than 2 points advance to them.
Meanwhile rock-bottom Tranmere are winless in five of last six (DLWLDL). They were beaten twice by 3-1 in two of last three games at low placed Yeovil and at Colchester. They did badly on their travels and are on two away defeats while Bristol Rovers are unbeaten in last two homes.
Bristol Rovers might field the same team that won last Saturday over Norwich as Wl Hoskins have recoverd from the a knock in that game and John Akinde is fit despite a cold.
Tranmere have major doubts over Ian Thomas, Adam McGurk and Ian Goodison and are under treatment along with Gunnar Nielsen, Marlon Broomes, Ash Taylor, Liam Darville and Alan Mahon.
I believe Bristol Rovers have good chances to win and beat a -1Handicap. I take the home win with -1EH @ 3.50 @ Wiliam Hill

Pick #9 (3W-5L +215)
Champions League
Sp. Braga vs Shakhtar Donetsk
Pick : Braga -1EH Draw (Braga to win by one)
Odds : 4.00 @Bet365
0:3, LOST, -100
Higly motivated "newbies", Sporting de Braga play their second game, after the "Emirates disaster", against a team that is used to these "high flights" and that won Uefa Cup in 2009.
Shakhtar is number 1 in Ukraine with a two points lead over Dynamo Kyiv while Braga is third on portuguese main league, not so good as last year, but, still, way lot better than "giants" Benfica and Sporting.
This is, however, a new thrill for Domingos and his lads even if for the money involved they'll try everything to win this game and erase the bad impression left in London. They got back to winning for our league last round after beating Naval 3-1 at home and for today i predict a narrow win for them.
The doubts most ppl had in the beginning are now gone after having beaten Celtic and Sevilla in the qualifiers.
Shakhtar won their first game at home against Partisan so i guess this qualification will be between them and Braga and i believe that playing at home, where Braga is very strong, the portuguese team will manage to beat the ucranians, despite all the pressure on their shoulders.
GL!

Champions League
Ajax-AC Milan
Pick: EH X Ajax -1 (Ajax to win by a 1-goal margin)
Odds: 4.10
Bookie: Unibet
1:1, LOST, -100
AC Milan won against genoa, but that's all positive about the match. It was another weak performance of AC, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic made the difference. But at the back they are vulnerable and without good wingers, and on midfield creativity is still lacking, meaning everything has to come from forwards. Ajax drew at FC Twente on saturday, and hitting the woodwork three times it could have been more, but with Twente missing some chances it could have been less. It is still unknown where the young Ajax team stands between the international top, and this will be the crucial test for survival in Europe or not. At home Ajax plays the better matches, and can count on their solid and concentrated organisation, with good marking and defensive midfielder Enoh relieving the pressure on the back. Suarez and El Hamdaoui is a class pairing up front, so a goal should be more than possible against the back line of Milan. When Ajax has the lead, thy'll try to maintain that till the end which is sort of a gamble against a top class striker, but in the end this Milan is far from unbeatable. As long as Ajax don't give to much respect to the susperstars of Milan an play with desire and passion, a win should be possible.

Atvidabergs - Trelleborgs
Pick: Trelleborgs +0 AH
Odds: 2.10 taken from bet365
3:1, LOST, -100
Here my bet is more on the higher quality side than on the higher motivation as the hosts are currently third from bottom in the table while Trelleborgs are quite safe in the mid-table. Atvidabergs were in great shape, remaining unbeaten in 5 consecutive games before eventually being trashed at IFK Goteborg by 3-0 while Trelleborgs are one of the most in-form teams in the league with 6-2-2 record in the last 10 games and without a single loss in last four, winning two games one of which away from home at quite similar team with Atvidabergs - Brommapojkarna. The reverse fixture was won by today's hosts but I think the times has changed since then and now its time for revenge and Trelleborgs will take it and maintain their great form and climb up in the table making their stay in the division even more sure.

3/7 (-14)
Well, I'll go with Bayern here despite the bad form lately. First of all these the Champions League. The aproach, the ambition and the motivation is totally different for Bayern here... This is Bayern's arena... This is the team that played the final last year...
I accept that Bayern lost some attacking power after the recent injuries and Basel is no walk over but there is one more factor that gives me the trust for this bet...
This Bayern needs to bounce back... After the loss against Mainz, i's a great chance to do so... The tean is aware of that... If you just check the offical website of Bayern, you will see that most of the statemenst are about bouncing back and so...
Besides, Van Gaal just signed a new contrat with Bayern which will end in 2012 so I guess this should give somehow a positive energy to the team...
To conclude, I believe in Bayern's win for tonight but will go for a handicap draw since the logical out come in my mind is Bayern to win by one goal difference...

Champions League
FC Basel ***8211; FC Bayern Munich (Tue 28 Sep 20:45)
Pick: o3.5 @3.25 StanJames
1:2, LOST, -100
Not going to pick a side here though I believe Bayern should have the 'Oberhand' in this one but I see a very good chance for goals coming.
Basel can't of course hide as it's their 1st home game and they simply can't wait for an appropriate opponent to collect points. They'll be out attacking and though not all up infront this will give Bayern good chances to build their attack. And yes it's time we see something coming from the 'big names' like Olic, Muller, Klose, Gomez, Schweins...+
Bayern surely had to make a re-formation after Ribery's out - and it's a big minus - btw his action prior Muller's goal when he got injured @Hoffenheim, was a great individual action. Still with guys like Lahm and Schweinsteiger (like those best) helping up infront and 'serving' the forwards should be more than enough to see at least 2 goals by them, but I'm sure they won't stop at that if chances and chances will be there.
Bayern playing in Switzerland is almost like playing at home ground in a German (also) speaking country with friendly team as opponents and surely many fans as well. Therefore and the mentioned I'm sure we'll see two attacking sides and a good to watch game which could finally end as their friendly in January (1-3).
5/10

Jordan - Kuwait
X(-1 EH) Jordan with 1 goal @ 3.80
nordicbet
2:2, LOST, -100
I think this is one very good pick for today.Match for WAFF Championship.Jordan and Kuwait arent so different teams and we cant say which one is the better.Maybe a little Kuwait are more famous but i think Jordan national team with their matches and results showed they arent worst squad.
Two years ago they was on the final played with Iran and they lossing 1:2.Now they are home team on this championship and ofcourse are with big expectations to reach the final again. But in the first match they was surprised very bad of Syria with goal in the last minutes for 1:1.In the last match for this groupe they faced Kuwait which team was the winner in the match with Syria so only win can qualify Jordan to the semifinals. We can expect hard match for them because Kuwait are with advantage and will played for draw, but maybe home factor will help on Jordan to win and for me probably with one goal difference.
Good luck,AL

Pick 8
So far 1-1-5 #-398
Champions League
Basel Vs Bayern
Pick: draw (odd:3.46 from 5Dimes)
1:2, LOST, -100
I think that we always need to be more careful for support the favorite teams in the second round Champions League group games, we could find out many many surprised results in recent years, remember AC Milan 0:1 Zurich, Fiorentina 2:0 Liverpool and Rubin Kazan 1:1 Inter Milan last season; Cluj 0:0 Chelsea, Inter Milan 1:1 Werder, Fiorentina 0:0 Steaua and Bate Borisov 2:2 Juventus at 2008-09 season. Also Liverpool 0:1 Marseille, Werder 1:3 Olympiakos ans Lyon 0:3 Rangers in 2007-08 season.
Today, I will be careful about Bayern, I am not sure van Gaal renew one more year contract was good news for them or not, Bayern has more than enough capital to build up a stronger them than last season, but this stubborn old man refused. Let me become more missed their great former coach Ottmar Hitzfeld. van Gaal just angry with Hitzfeld`s comment, about Bayern without Robben and Ribery already lost 30% attack power, van Gaal disagree with Hitzfeld, he think that other players can replace them. I also disagree with Hitzfeld, because I think only 30% is too conservative, they even lost more than that.
Bayern on poor form after world Cup, even with Ribery, they only scored 5 goals in 6 league games, the poorest attack team in Germany Bundesliga, if not the great breakthrough show from Ribery, they had no chance to fightback and beaten Hoffenheim. Now Robben, Ribery, Diego Contento and Alaba will absence, Klose, Olic and Mario Gomez all out of form, and the reserve players like Pranjic and Braafheid, both brought in from van Gaal, are totally a joke.
After the home defeat against Mainz, vice captain Lahm already said that, will be very hard and need a long period of times for Bayern to catch up the 10 points different, their League title racing have hugh crisis now. In coming Sunday, they have a win or die Germany national derby big game, play away against top form Dortmund, if they go on to lose points, will be a big disaster for the whole season. Bayern only left very thin manpower, they know that they have an easy Champions League group, already took three points from their most importance opponent Roma, the league game become much much more importance for them at that moment, if they can`t score an early goal and face hard fight, will be satisfied with a draw here. May be you can say that Champions League is the totally different games, we can`t only base on the league form recently. But we can see that Bayern only played 2 Champions League games without Robben and Ribery last season, the results were lose 1:2 in Bordeaux and beaten weak Maccabi Haifa 1:0 at home, both were substandard.
Basel coach Fink was the former Bayern players and youth team coach, this is his first time to bring his team against his former club, he know Bayern very much and already said that if Bayern can`t play 100%, everything can happen in this game. He will have extra motivation to show his ability today, because he has a dream to be the coach of Bayern one day in future. After the away defeat against Cluj, Fink know the right class of Basel in CL level, will be happy with take one point against Bayern at home.
A good odd draw is the most probably result in this game for me.

Pick 7 1W 6L -378
Chelsea OM
Pick Chelsea -1,0 -1,5 2.08 188Bet, Pinacle
2:0, WON, +108
Why?
Chelsea is great this season, while OM are still searching for their high form.
Chelsea scored huge number of goals this season, and is able (easily to score min 2, probably 3 goals OM).
OM sold Niang to Fenerbahce and new guys(Remy and Gignac did not a single goal so far).
Moreover Chelsea did not concede a single goal in 3 of 4 visits in England and OM scored only 3 goals(max 1 a game)in 8 visits in ENgland!
Chelsea is hungry for goals: becuase they are playing very offensive and atractive football and are not satisfying even with 3:0 lead and want to score as much as possible and in last game vs City they did not score a goal.
Also they are hungry and very motivated because a final will be played in their City in London.
Terry still remember that penelty he missed and he is extra motivated.
Chelsea have never lost to french team at home(220 balance)
The last but not least: last 7 visits in ENgland ended results by one goal margin, with every next game probability increases that they will win or loose with handi.
I predict a defeat with handi

pick 7
6W/0L +629
England,Championship
Watford-Swansea
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals
Odds: 1.96 ( 5Dimes )
2:3, WON, +96
Hello everyone.I have to swim away from my Bulgarian waters, because I am running out of time, and I have to pick a picks every day now, because I was not serious enough,to start the competition on time. But anyway,I have looked around for game, and despite I am not so good in English game,I will risk there.
My pick for tonight is Over 2.5 goals between Watford and Swansea and here are my reasons and statistick for that:
Both teams are very high scoring in the last few weeks:
Watford have got 4 over 2.5 goals from the last 6 games, with results: 3-1 won at home agains Middlesbro,6-1 won away at Millwall,2-2 draw at home against Doncaster, and 1-2 lost at home against Notts County for the League cup,and we can see that the team really score and recieve a lot of goals in all this games.I think they will keep playing in the same way tonight and score at least 2,after they scored 9 goals in their last 2 games.
In the other end Swansea is very similar team.Thay also have 4 over 2.5 goals in the last 6 games:Lost away from Forest 3-1,won away in Pitterbro 3-1,won 2-1 at home against Coventry, and lost away from Leeds,2-1.So with 4 overs from 6 games,I think they are good scoring team and they will score at least 1 or two tonight.
All this makes me think that this game will be over 2.5 goals, and I will go for it.
My pick here is Over 2.5 Goals.
You can follow me if you like this pick.
Good Luck

Pick #10 (4W-0V-5L) (+122)
Brasil Serie B, 02.50cet
Guarantigueta - Ipatinga
Pick: Over 3.5
Odds: 3.00
Bookmaker: stanjames
2:1, LOST, -100
I feel Leni is sleepin and forget to take this sure bet,... then I will take it .
Guarantigueta has never reached the form from the begining of the season. With a very few victories in the last dozen of rounds, they are 7 points close to relegation line. Even more they are witout a win in the last 4 rounds, G4 is far as far is relegation line. With no big squad problems for tonight they hope they can turn their fortune with the last team in the table.
Ipatinga has been bad whole season. 10 points trail from safety, they decided to make more risk in the last rounds. Its obvious that they score and concede in all of the recent rounds. They have the leading scorer of the league Alessandro in their team. Also very bad defence, but with one of the best goalkeepers in the league, Douglas. They are comming of a very dissapointing defeat at home to Mineiro 1-2. No big squad prolems for them also.
Reverse fixture has produced Ipatinga home win 3-0. I guess this game has no draw alternaive as both teams will try to break their bad serie. Guests are in good scoring form, and although they are last in the table, they scored at least once in the last 5 rounds. With not so solid defence of the hosts, I guess they will try surprise them with atacking game, they have no alternative with their defending game. The guests still dont have an away win so far this season and I am sure their patience is far over from now, so I believe that they will try to finally win tonight. On the other side, Guaratingueta are solid home team and I expect they want to turn their form in a good direction and instead of escaping from relegation line, they will rather chase promotion one. There is sure some revenge factor form a big defeat from reverse fixture. A game with a lot of goals I feel, and a game in which will be decided if Ipatinga is still in the game for survival and if Guarantingueta will fight againts relegation or for promotion.
