Rapid
Hedl - Kayhan, Sonnleitner, Soma, Katzer - Kulovitz (Hinum), Pehlivan - Kavlak, Hofmann, Saurer - Nuhiu (Hesselink);
- Bench: Payer - Patocka, Eder, Dober, Hinum, Trimmel, Salihi, Gartler, Hesselink;
- Missing: Heikkinen, Drazan; Kulovitz questionable;
Heikkinen is an important missing in dmf. If Kulovitz can't play as well, the "6" position would be weakened even more...
Rapid surely got the potential to do better than in those last four weeks. Results: 1-0-3, 4:7 in league, 5:4 Cup win after penalties vs Austria II (3rd div) and a 0:3 defeat at Porto in EL (overall deserved but perhaps tad too high). They are still struggling to catch some momentum, defense is a bit leaky and the team got scoring trouble. However, they create quite some amount of chances in every game (even vs Porto) and at least newsigned Vennegoor of Hesselink did already prove that he still knows how to stuff the ball in the net.
With Heikkinen still out and that bad luck / unefficiency in front of the goal, I have a hard time trusting Rapid to deliver at the moment, but when I read Yaman's info on Besiktas (defensive problems, rather offensive approach), I tend to agree about the 'over' here eventhough international biz is no domestic league...
I've read that Schuster is doing permanent lineup rotation. Is that the reason for the holes in the defense? Besides, I'd like to hear the opinion about Besiktas' first EL game vs Sofia when Ernst scored a last minute winner for the 1:0. Overall lucky or deserved? Did they waste lots of chances? Did they allow scoring opportunities of the opponent?
