R. Madrid - Atlético

The distance to the first place has been shortened to four points with an amazing ten games winning streak and now Real Madrid are obligated to give their 110% against Liverpool seeking for the CL miracle! And here is the trap they will fall in unless they cope with care the upcoming two games. Should Real have Liverpool in their minds then they could fail in both games against city rivals Atletico and Liverpool. On the other hand Atletico recovered confidence by their stunning victory over league leaders Barcelona and are facing the city derby and the upcoming Champions League return leg in Porto on high morale!! This is a crucial week for them as well, as they entertain Villarreal after their trip to Porto.

Gago has been completely recovered so Juande Ramos is missing Pepe and Sneijder who are suspended. Diego Forlan, abandoned training on Wednesday but he should be available by Saturday. Left back-half Pernía returns after serving his one game ban, while central defender Perea remains out.

My opinion is that Real***8217;s coaching staff is interested in Liga and will leave the Champions League encounter in God***8217;s (or Raul) will. Real can not win in Liverpool and will not risk fundamental resources to risk the clasico against Atletico. They will give it all in the derby and they should win this by the one or the other way***8230;

Prediction: Home win

*******

Barcelona - Athletic

Barcelona can be beaten; this is what we can figure out seeing los blaugrana failing to win in their last five official games. There is talking about crisis but this should be a, sooner or later expected, slip of form. The question is; how long it will last? On Wednesday they equalised Mallorca only when Messi came in and with the 1-1 draw they were advance to the cup final where they are meeting athletic de Bilbao. So, this is a walk through to the final as Athletic were the great winners in the other semi final against Sevilla. The Basques rotated big in their last Liga game as they had the cup on top priority. They grabbed a massive morale boost and their visit at the Camp Nou should be a fine test of what they are capable of. They have nothing to lose here.

Iniesta returned in action in the midweek. Ahead of Olympic***8217;s visit at the Camp Nou, Joseph Guardiola will keep on with his favourite tactic the rotations. Messi didn***8217;t start on Wednesday, so he is expected to start now. In Athletic, left side half Yeste fulfilled his sanction and is available for selection.

Prediction: No bet***8230;

Villarreal - Espanyol

This is an important game for both as the yellow submarines are trying to strengthen their place in top four, while Espanyol keeps struggling in the last places of the ladder. Villarreal will have Greek side Panathinaikos in mind but bearing in mind the only two victories in the last six games, it***8217;s obvious that they can not relax at all. Mr Roig, the president, set Villarreal***8217;s target in a top 4 finish and there will be hard decisions if this isn***8217;t accomplished. Many contracts expire on June and should Villarreal do not ensure incomes, some players will leave***8230; So Espanyol is the priority here and even if this doesn***8217;t sounds likely ***8211; ahead of a CL return leg - should the submarines treat Espanyol seriously then they will face no problems as they didn***8217;t face in the last four visits of the Catalans in Vila-Real (3-1-0). Espanyol are in a quite complicated situation. Pochettino***8217;s doing what he thinks best but it***8217;s a fact that the team***8217;s lacking stamina. They almost ***8216;walk***8217; in the field after an hour in the game***8230; They sit second from bottom and the salvation is now six points away. The upcoming games against Villarreal, Mallorca, Osasuna, Deportivo and Numancia, are crucial for the periquitos.

Pellegrini gave rest to Nihat, Senna and Llorente against Betis (they played some part in the final minutes) and something similar is expected to do now. Good news in Espanyol as keeper Kameni and right winger Rufete saw the green light from the medical staff, while Roman and Pareja set themselves available for selection. First choice midfielder Moisés Hurtado served his one day bad and is also available. So, Pochettino has an almost full squad to choose with only midfielder ***913;ngel obligated to stay another 3 weeks in the sidelines.

Villarreal are way too superior regarding quality and physical conditions, while Mr Roig set the word; Finish on top 4 or***8230; you have to go***8230; These odds on the yellow submarines, are more than fine!

Prediction: Home win 1.98 @ pinnacle 7 units

Edit: ups, sorry. It is 1.89 for Villarreal and not 1.98. It is not mistaken in the main page though...

Agreed with mantis. Barcelona are very much beatable recently. However, Bilbao also had the Cope game just few days ago and I think it`ll show vs. Barca, who rested half of their team vs. Mallorca (also in Copa)
Eto, Henry, Messi and Xavi didn`t start the match there.
Preview here: FC Barcelona - Bilbao

I am thinking about Real Madrid: Atletico Madrid to take a draw with like 4/10 in this local Madrid derby. Real plays at home alright and is chasing Barcelona, cause the difference is getting smaller really fast, but on the other side, they have very hard away fixture with Liverpool in CH. Atletico on the other side have regained their confidence with their glorious win against Barcelona, but are also facing CH game against Porto. This is a derby, both teams will be eager to win this one( Real maybe some home ground advantage), but both also have in mind CL games. But maybe Real will push harder in this confrontation and focus to catch Barca in La Liga, cause chances of progressing in CH encounter against Liverpool are in my opinion slimer than Atletico's chances against Porto, cause their confidence and moral are sky high now after defeating Barcelona- so maybe also 3/10 Real wins by one goal difference.

Great games tonight i real game odds seem well setled hard to pick anything would not write athletic off from nou camp ....will look deeper into both matches later on if time ....

some toughts ...

Primera

Espanyol (0) 3.5 5/10
A couple of factors may play in favour of guest that look like falling further down by a look at thier record but have some experience allready fighting against relegation plus great comitment among ranks counting with a number of home breed players many seasons on first team , in front Villareal has one of their most impotrtant games of the season facing Pao on CL at Athens so they will likely rotate wich in a team of their wide squad does not mean lower performances yet the focus on midweek action may affect the whole squad as usual & honestly do not like playing against blondies at this time in the season as they look gearing up but have great confidence on pericos to turn things around even if they look a bit disorganized under new coach when they have to chase a game however they have proved playing at Nou Camp that the holding rol may suit them & with Tamudo back plus other quality on ranks surely have what it takes to ask locasl a couple of questions .Guest will miss Moises & Torrejon the first one has some influence in the defensive game & is one of the leaders but with tamudo & peña back everythisng is covered .Host will wiss two defenders Gonzalo & Venta .h2h could be better & guest will have up to 3K supporters on the stands in a trip partly paid by players look forward to build on their defeatless run on the road in last 3 .

Segunda

Celta -1/2 @ 2.18 6/10 / [-1] 4.5 2/10 / over (2) 1.78 3/10
Host with new coach thet can change the course , Eusebio fits the profile of potential good coach as he was very wise as a midfielder & allready has some bench experinec with Rijkaard ,he plans to play more offensive & both the squad, pitch & rival -Huesca - suits that .
Guest are having a great season yet complacency could arise atm & they are not so good travelling nor defending , visitors have 3 missing players among them 2 regular ine hard to replace , host will miss Nogerol defender all in all may be a good time to back locals at present odds.Goals on cards .

Cordoba -1/4 @ 2.25 6/10 / [-1] 5 2/10 / under 2.25 1.72 2/10
Host have better squad than table position shows specially after signing couple of big profile players in winter break & under new coach have a good record tough keep losing too many points on last minutes just like last season , in front Castellon is having a great season but may have some doubts on their game under new coach on teh road following their bad game at albacete , to add woes they will miss influential Arana upfront with 5 goals & 10+ assist, not bad h2h for locals either .

Real Sociedad -1 @ 1.7 6/10
Sevilla B keeps falling down & it is not certain when they will evr win a game so tehy could be good pray for down real coming from 3 defeats but still not w/o chances in this hard & long segunda where 3 straight wins can change your aims from saving status to promotion candidate , host will miss Castillo while guest miss Cordero but missing players is not a factor .

Hercules +.75 @ 1.76 6/10 / under 1.85 2/10
This line may be 1/4 worng in favour of zaragoza as usual bookies overprice the big name yet Hercules has big galons in segunda and an equally strong squad that is delivering lately boosted by their win in anoeta , guest as said are a dificult team & very dangerous with spaces ahead .Host will recover Jorge Lopez but may field same team as against Murcia so may do hercules that will still miss Paz & Taborda both can be replaced .

Tenerife -1/4 @ 2 6/10 / over 2.25 1.9 2/10
Alicante still fighting & with 15+ rounds to go they sure can not be write
off yet their poor home record where they only got one clean sheet in september
plus fact Tenerife is fired up lately may be too hard to handle , host recover
influential azkoitia but still miss influential as well torrecilla , guest will
miss for a while Aragoneses & this is a dodgy factor as L Garcia is not know
as a sure thing in the gate rather the oposite as whenever he leaves a team it
is boosted on teh next season somehow :/ yet coaches keep having confidence in
him so may be time to vindicate .Goals on cards .Guest eager to present win to aragoneses, bit too much off pitch talks on locals nothing new.

Numancia (0) @ 2.5 5/10
I would never back locals on normal conditions but Valencia travels w/o Villa & Silva (moro & miguel) & their overwhelming superiority on firepower is not so big hence so bad momentum plus off pitch woes can be enough for locals to end winless strike .
Host miss winger Pino but Guayre could come back to the first eleven they are not sucha bad team but keep missing many chances.

I had Valencia's away win in my book, but since I received the latest news... I will definitely skip this...

Villa got injured yesterday in training and is out of the game, while Silva, Morientes, Angulo, Miguel and long term Renan are also missing....

Miguel is also an important loss and Curro Torres will play as right back. At least he is a better option than Maduro... Alexis retuns in the centre of defence and he is importnat.

Numancia - Valencia

Struggling Numancia entertains wounded Valencia in a game where both teams are desperate to pick up points. Numancia lost the last 7 games and lies rock bottom in the table, while los Che were succumbed to Valladolid at Mestalla and moved 5th in the table on equal points with Atletico, Depor and Malaga. As it seems the change in the bench didn’t serve the Soria outfit much, who lost the 6-pointer to Osasuna and the home game to Depor under the reigns of José Rojo Martín 'Pacheta'. Of course there is no need to say that the upcoming games against Valencia, Racing, Sporting, Betis and Espanyol are crucial for the Soria based side. On the other Valencia are under crisis. The players don’t get their salaries, the team’s display sucks, the UEFA and domestic cup eliminations, and the administrating chaotic situation, have an impact to the team’s morale and mentality. This isn’t the hardest situation Valencia were up to, but things are really complicated and it is on the players to pick up the team in their shoulders and return in winning days again.

Numancia’s manager José Pacheta will serve his 2nd day of suspension. In the ‘Che’ camp, Emery Unai can count on important right back Miguel again, while Angulo is also available. This isn’t the only good news, as key striker David Villa and central defender Alexis served their bans and they welcomed back.

With Miguel and Alexis back, Valencia’s defense becomes solid, while there is no need to comment the importance of David Villa in the team. We shouldn’t underestimate Numancia but it time for an ‘on the road’ victory for Valencia.

Today is nice chance to see first draw for Sporting Gijon. Almost 30 round without it is to much. Odds 3.65 is worth a shot. Stake 5/10

Against in form Osasuna in Pamplona? I doubt it. Should be an easy win for the hosts, maybe a 2-0 result, considering that PAndiani will be back in the starting line-up for this game. Osasuna are unbeaen for 6 games now, 3 wins and 3 draws, just after undeservedly losing against Barca and Real prior to these games, being superior to both.
Osasuna conceded only one goal in the last 5 games, away against RAcing Santander. Teams like Deportivo la Coruna, Mallorca or Valencia failed to put a goal in, while Gijon after a very good start of the season are free-fallling right now, losing 6 in a row away, and the last two at home against Barca and Mallorca. Huelva defeated them with 2-0, Getafe 5-1 so this Osasuna team that at the moment is better than the others mentioned should have no problems in their Reyno de Navvara stadium, where the the atmosphere is great and pressure builds up on the visitors.
Gijon defeated Osasuna 2-1 at home but at that time Gijon were a surging promoted team, while Osasuna were having great dificulties having now won any of their first 10 league games. ODds have dropped from 1.8 to 1.65 and will continue to drop until the kick-off. The value is not too good anymore, but a 1.65 or maybe a forced -1 AH at better odds should do. Good luck.

I had valencia also on mind against this numancia -they should have fired the strikers !! -
still playing on num risky as yesterday espanyol whenb teams get on that spiral everything goes wrong -murphy dixit !! -

kind of not agree on couple of games ...some toughts .......

Deportivo -.25 1.96 5/10 / [0-1] 2.75 2/10
Despite short upfront depor is one good team that at home delivers finally recovered couple of pieces even if Riki/lassad are not 100% midfielder with goals within etc ...Racing one solid piece of team usually gets somthg from riazor .

Mallorca -.25 2 5.5/10 / under (1) HT 1.79 2/10
Have to fancy bermellones here more a team able to sleep the game & leave few spaces to betis flair upfron , green whites still look a bit dodgy on the colective game , emana on the bench wich talks about chaparro worries on team balance these teasm know eachother very well after cup thriller when they score 1 overall yet on an open game with either one chasing the game could bring goals .

Sporting +1 1.79 5/10 / (0) 4.5 1/10 / under 1.88 2.5/10
Hard to back sporting here but a 1 ball is too much even ifd stats talk for themselves we can still se sporting bouncing back as they did earlier even if osasuna is too hard to handle last games .
Not losing at this stage mandatory so a low scoring draw could have the nod from preciado & camachin .Sp recovers units Osasuna bit short upfront with doubts on on their best finisher pand tough he should be ok .

Sevilla -.75 2 5.5/10 / over [3] 3.3 3/10
Hard to back this irregular sevilla but almeria did not look to me like a team well prepared to hold so on a open game sevilla great quality on ranks plus fact they come from embarrashing knokout in the mighty lions feud could add them a bit more of sharpness , almeria has some upfront players on fire so i expect them to score .

Nastic +.25 2.1 4/10
Host traits are worriying lately missng chances & not receiving too much face nastic that is irregula so far but has wepons to take adv above mentioned host miss sevilla guest miss n´gol.

Malaga +.25 2.1 5.5/10 / over [3 ] 3.3 4/10
Both have sharp front men & even if malaga does not get much from madrid i see them as better team with clear ideas afg the king of draw muñoz in need , geta can not defend leads & malaga does not speculate much so goals on cards .

cheers .

Sevilla - Almeria

Pick: over 3.5
Odds: 3.50
Bookie: Bet365, Stan James

Sevilla lost in Copa Del Rey in Bilbao with big 3:0 result in last match, and now they are eliminated there... now Sevilla hosting Almeria, team at the miedle of the table who play good games lately. Match for Sevilla is important, they are on 3rd place, and they want to stay there in places who lead in CHL for next season. Sevilla have three victories in a row in Primera... and their wish is winning row to continue...

This Almeria team play good, they have no some special worries about survival in Primera, they have 7 points from last 3 matches, and now they can play more relaxed, they have nothing to lose in this match...

Most important for this match is that both teams can score some goals, Sevilla attack is not the greatest in the league, but they score often lately and they must improve their third place on the table. Almeria score in their last 9 matches, and in last 8 they concede goal(s) in every one of them.

Sevilla is favorite for victory, but they have bad memories about Almeria from last season... and Almeria will not give up... they will score here too for sure... remember last season when Sevilla were hosting Almeria...
Sevilla - Almeria 1:4
...attacking football in both sides, goals will come...

over 3.5 (3/10)

Cheers... good luck

Agree with you Litost. Today we've seen some really crazy results and a lot of goals in La Liga. I lost all my bets, but it was special day in La Liga today with really amazing encounters, goal fiestas and turning points in many games.
