NFL Week 13
well since there are Thursday games , and a big one at that, i thought id start the thread early, sorry if i offend
Ok, big game obviously, 2 losses between them (GB & Dallas)
The Lines are Dallas -7 and The Total at 52, and i am here to post about the total i see rising above the Number!!
2 Reasons is the loss of one player, effecting two aspects of the game, Woodson, out at CB and returning kicks, which in my mind accounts for a hit on the D that could put Dallas in a much better position to throw the ball downfield, which theyll do anyway, believe that lol
And losing Woodson at KR/PR doesnt really hurt GB as much as i see it helping the special teams, Woodson doesnt get more than 12-16 yards at this point in his career, man face it, His returning Kick days really should be Left off the Playbook if you ask me, especially with him Obviously being on the field for the third down play that achieved the 4th down punt, if not second down too, so he could be winded before he takes the punt to begin with, so i personally think having a defensive guy returning kicks is suspect at best, so i see it as a + actually, it changes the dynamic of what to prepare for for Dallas and It gives GB a week to work on it, i see 10- 17 points coming from Special teams, not so much in SCORING the points, but putting them in the positions to be able to get a quick 3 or 7 with virtually no time elapsed to an extent
Defensively? Hey both are solid, what can you say, the numbers support them both as decent Defenses that have kept them both in plenty of games thru 12 weeks, so i also agan see 7 - 10 points from Defensive turnovers that Either lead to or are a direct result of a big play that changes the Length of the field, and how can you not also take notice of:
OFFENSE!!
Terrell is wanting to go out on the Grandest of stages and perform, this is indeed the equivalent of what transpired with NE and Indy, giving the winner of this game an obvious edge for post season in the NFC this time, so if you didnt notice this was a big game? STOP GAMBLING!!!! lol
Ok then, Over me at 52 boys and girls!! I see points in abundance and if it was honestly at 48 or so id think twice but i think What i call "Vegas" (Americas line setters) Set this line in the 50's at worst obviously expecting a 30-22 type result with the -7 Chalk and the 52 total, so where is the money?
OVER!!! 52 !!!
I see points in all 3 aspects of the game, as mentioned not directly from them (Ofcourse a KR and a Def Return would jack me up, but i hope for mistakes on Defense, with two offenses that have proven theyll move the ball, Big game or not, Neither 10 win team will lay down and if they do, itll be when its 48- 24 and out of reach and were all ready PAID!!!
Final Play and result
G.B Road Points = 20
Dallas Home Points = 34
Dallas -7
G.B / Cowboy Over 52!! (that aforementioned 48 - 24 score will be alot more accomodating lol)
Go get yours!!! and Buono Fortuna!!

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys
These are two very good teams that rival the best the league has to offer. That being said, I do think Dallas is a little better than Green Bay, but just a little. Defensively, I actually like what the Packers do more than the Cowboys. They have a solid secondary with two safeties that can really move on the ball in the air. Dallas has two huge hitters and can be taken advantage of deep down the middle, or in man to man coverage with either safety. I think these teams are very equal offensively, with the Packers having the slight upper hand. This is the best the NFC has, and that being said, I think both teams feel as though they have something to prove on Thursday. This should be one hell of a game, a close one, and getting more than a touchdown, I have to go with a Packers team that should probably be undefeated right now. Yes, believe it. They are a self destructive second half away from a perfect record. Each team has had their close games, and I see this being yet another one.
pick:Packers +7

Atlanta Falcons @ St. Louis Rams (-3)
I think the Falcons are just about done winning games this season, and the Rams just started. Despite losing last week at home to Seattle, St. Louis played a pretty solid game, and still has one of the best offensive units in the game when healthy. The Falcons don't have enough offensive firepower to keep up with St. Louis, unless the Rams have an injury to Bulger or just come out flat-lined. I like Steven Jackson to exude some force in this one, especially against a defensive tackle group full of backups. I'm sure the public will be riding the Rams in this one, but I honestly think they'll win by more than a touchdown.

NFL
PHILADELPHIA -3 Seattle
We have said it many times—the Eagles play their best with their backs to the wall. We’ve also said it before—the Eagles have played better without Donovan McNabb. It may be the play calling and it may be that the respective replacements the last two years of Jeff Garcia last year and now A.J. Feeley this year, release the ball earlier, but Philly is better without McNabb.
This is a 10 a .m. game for Seattle as they are on Pacific Time. They are also without their deep threat D.J. Hackett.
Sure Shaun Alexander is back for Seattle , but at the very least it should be short-term chemistry problem, plus many respected scouts think Alexander has lost his edge since signing a fat contract.

let me say this straight. i am not usa sports expert, and i usually take advices from american guys here and take them into consideration with what i know.
but for today i have to tell you that washington against buffalo is one of the best bets.
during the week sean taylor from washington was shot death and his father went to address the team to play for him during last 5 games. at least this will be enough to fire them up against not so strong team buffalo. I don't know about names of the players but it seems buffalo is playing with its rookie qb and averaging 10-15 points in last 3 games and lost last 2. washington lost last 3 games as well, but i think they will be motivated to play for their friend at home field. I also read in some other forum that many players in buffalo team also had flue.
i am planning to go redskins now line is -6, but maybe i'll try -5,5 considering a low scoring game with many field goals at highest stakes, but i will be happy to get some public opinion as well?

American football is not like football we know, you can't win by just being "fired up" ... it takes an entire week of practice, film study, and play planning, just for one match ... and with such a distraction, you have to question how tactically prepared Washington will be ... they might be more motivated, but Buffalo would have done more homework, and in this game, more often than not, brains beat brawn
also, Sean Taylor was not just some average guy on their team, he was the leader of their defense, and hard to replace
that being said, Buffalo does have some serious injury concerns too, both Running Backs are now out, as well as a coupe of defensive starters
difficult game to call

Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans (-3.5)
I like the Titans to rebound here. I don't believe the hype that Albert Haynesworth's absence has caused all the problems with Tennessee, but obviously getting him back would give the team a boost against a Texans team that is playing pretty solid football right now. Andre Johnson is back, and if the Titans can't pressure Matt Schaub into some mistakes, it could be another long day for Tennessee's secondary. However, I think they'll easily shut down the Texan rushing attack, and force Schaub into 3rd and long situations - that will be the key for Tennessee to cover this one.

New England Patriots (-19) @ Baltimore Ravens:
Okay, this 19 point thing is getting a little ridiculous, but unlike the Eagles, the Ravens can't put up points against the Patriots. Also unlike the Eagles, the Ravens don't have a secondary that is strong enough to eliminate Randy Moss, or cover well enough to make Tom hold on to the ball that extra second. This spread is huge, but I have to take the Patriots. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a Monday Night shut out of the Ravens. I think the score will be 31-7 or something ridiculous like that. Baltimore is bad, and their amazing run defense won't matter against New England.

good job kumru, better just skip the game when in doubt, washington was clearly unstable during that game
and yes franky, Baltimore's offense won't be able to score even against a college team, they run a ball-control offense, which will be useless if they get behind early, they simply can't pass the ball down field ... defense they do get back pro bowl corner Samari Rolle after injuries, their other all pro corner Chris McAlister is listed as questionable, as well as tight-end Todd Heap, who's key part of their pass offense

will their amazing run defense matter considering new england can't have pass offense because of heavy wind? thanks for mentioning it. I don't understand why moderators delete plain picks because this isn't more usefull than plain pick
p.s. frankie do you even understand what 20-30 mph wind does to pass offense?

obiviusly cause you're stupid, firstly don't be smart after match is over and secondly what would forum look like for example if here is 1000 plain picks: 250 for NE, 250 for Ravens, 250 for over and 250 for under
you can find voting picks on american forums or some sites like www.wagerline.com

I hate to say it, but the Patriots should have lost this game. My wife always told me, "You know, those games are all fixed. There's more important people than those players, and they know the right people, have enough influence, and are big enough asses to decide who wins and who loses." Aside from crying, and telling her she was wrong, I've still never agreed that games are won and lost because rich guys pay off poor guys, but this game could definitely cause a stir amongst those who believe the other way. Honestly, I just think great teams often get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the closest of plays, and while that will always piss someone off, it's just the way it is. Mike Jordan got the calls, Larry Bird did as well - Joe Montana and the 49ers were the angels of the NFL back in the day, and Wayne Gretzky did what he wanted when he laced up the skates. I hate to say it, but that's just the way it is. Right now, I'm officially off the Patriots picking train, and back to actually capping their games.
To franjo:you're being pathetic!
