England: League Two 29.09
Shrewsbury v Rochdale (27-09-2007 14:42 CET)
Shrewsbury, on level points with the leaders, are on a downtrend judging by how they play but they show the all important ability to get something on not so good days too and their ambitions of staying in the top throughout the season must be taken seriously. They were shining in their first few games, but seem to have dropped a level since then. Worried they might not be ones to handle success, their manager hired a team psychologist a week ago. I couldn't possibly know how that would affect them but in their game after this, they again showed the mentioned ability to get a result so it might well be he have worked wonders on them. They were a good hometeam last season, placing them in the Play Off, and with three wins in three (5:1) plus an extra time win against Championship side Colchester (1:0) and a solid performance against The Premiership's Fulham (0:1), they look even better now.
Rochdale have been going nowhere for some years now and it would appear this season will be more of the same. Their last couple of games, two eventless draws, have held a low standard - even for this level, and it looks like they could use a few new options to their attack as they really lack ideas. The highlight so far was their only win; a dramatic 3:2 against MK Dons, but it was hardly a deserved one and they both equalized and got the winner when the clock had passed 90 minutes. Chris Dagnall, who scored twice in that match and is more or less their only decent attacker, injured his knee last week and could face a longer spell on the sidelines. If his injury proves to be a serious one, it's even harder to see how they'll manage to score unless they bring in someone new.
I think Shrewsbury are in with an excellent chance of winning this. Rochdale are highly likely to come for the draw but Shrewsbury have a proven goalscoring potential and I'd be very surprised to see them failing to score. It is hard to see their solid defence allowing Rochdale anything at all and the homeside copying their 3:0 win from six months ago could well happen.

Darlington v Peterborough
Very good pick, I also had this one on my sheet. But what do you think about:
Darlington - Peterborough
I think Darlington will win this one. At home very strong until now, Peter therefore away not that good. For sure this will be a close game I think, but Darlington is good and they play at home.
Besides I think the OVER is a nice bet, isn't it? The Offense of Darlington at home is good, Peter got enough goals against them away. Perhaps a 2-1 or 3-1. the lst five H2H (from 2006 and 2007) are all over.
Darlington by 6/10
Over 2,5 by 3/10

Wycombe dealt double injury blow
Wycombe have been dealt a blow with the news that both their senior keepers face long periods out of action.
Scott Shearer has broken an ankle in training and Jamie Young's injury is worse than was first feared and he is likely to be out for several months.
Manager Paul Lambert told the club website: "This is really bad news.
"We were just coming to terms with Jamie's injury when Scott snapped his ankle during training when he caught his studs in the turf."
Lambert added: "We're left with two untried youngsters so we've obviously got to get a keeper on loan and we've got to act quick.

Re: Bradford v Wycombe
Well, does that mean we should put some money on Bradford then? Sounds like that.

It's just info... But Bradford do perform quite well at home and this would be a clear advantage for them unless Wycombe sign someone today..

Well, Morecambe shouldn't be underestimated. Especially after a defeat as heavy as the one in the midweek League Cup game at Sheff Utd. They've only lost twice after their promotion and have adapted nicely to this level where they seem to like their role as underdogs...
Dons have the chance to move first with a win and play some excellent football, so naturally they are expected to win, but MK Dons (-0.25) @ 2.00 doesn't look good enough to back in my opinion. I think the under 2.5 at the same odds would be a better option.
----
"Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has no new injury worries ahead of MK Dons' visit.
However, Wayne Curtis is still out with a chest injury, while Fraser McLachlan continues to recover from a broken leg.
MK Dons captain Keith Andrews will start for Paul Ince's side against Morecambe despite being knocked out in last weekend's win over Darlington.
Colin Cameron, Kevin Gallen and Scott Taylor are all out, but Mark Wright (foot) and Drewe Broughton (ankle) could both return to the squad."

Wycombe manager, Paul Lambert, just set the loan contracts with two young goalkeepers: Frank Fielding (Blackburn) (3 months loan) and Przemyslaw Kazmierczak (Bolton) (a month loan).

Re: Bradford v Wycombe
Bradford v Wycombe (28-09-2007 21:54 CET)
Bradford had a struggling start to the season and reached the bottom with a 1:5 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Doncaster in the beginning of the month. It woke last season's League One team up, as they recorded good results and performances in the following two games, away to Lincoln (2:1) and at home to Peterborough (1:0), but what they showed in last week's defeat to Hereford (2:4) was evidence there is much work to be done before they are performing at the level expected of them. Creating chances and scoring goals isn't really a problem for them, so defensive lapses would be the key reason for their problems; a single clean sheet in seven games (nine if you include the cups) isn't what upper half teams are made of. I'd expect them to adress this problem and that we'll see an improvement to this sometime soon, but most so in awaygames as they play to entertain and have their focus on an attacking mentallity in the homegames.
Wycombe are doing just fine and look worthy of challenging up there. They'd won two in a row ahead of last week's 1:1 at home to a hard-to-beat Shrewsbury but they had probably deserved all three points and we should them very interested in getting them here. They approach the awaygames with their minds set on attacking and the three so far (1-1-1) have held a high entertainment level. They've scored twice in two of them, which is a good achievement in this league. They find themselves in the unfortunate situation of having both their 'keepers injured so they have brought in two unproven youngsters from Premiership teams on loan the day before this match.
This could well be a good game. Bradford will play for the win and have the firepower to take advantage of the suspected insecurity in the Wycombe defense. Bradford's defense isn't exactly secure themselves, so the visitors, unafraid to go forward, should get their chances as well and three goals look well within reach.
