from uefa.com
The sons of two famous footballing fathers will be on the bench as AFC Rapid Bucuresti and FK Mladá Boleslav seek a first win in UEFA Cup Group G.
• Rapid have drawn both of their Group G games to date, 0-0 at home against Paris Saint-Germain FC and 2-2 at Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC.
• Mladá Boleslav did not play on Matchday 1 and lost their opening game on Matchday 2, conceding at the death to go down 1-0 at home against Panathinaikos FC.
• The two sides have never met in European competition.
• Both clubs are led by coaches with famous fathers. Rapid's Razvan Lucescu is the son of FC Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu, while Mladá Boleslav’s coach Dušan Uhrin's father, also called Dušan Uhrin, led the Czech Republic to a silver-medal finish at UEFA EURO '96™.
• Rapid have never taken on opponents from the Czech Republic in UEFA competition.
• Mladá Boleslav have never met opponents from Romania either.
• Sides from Romania and the Czech Republic, or the Czech part of the former Czechoslovakia, have met eleven times in the European Champion Clubs' Cup, UEFA Cup, UEFA Intertoto Cup, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Super Cup over the years.
• In total, Romanian sides have won three of those fixtures, with three draws and five wins for the Czech sides.
• In Romania, the home side has won twice, with three draws and one win for the Czech visitors.
• Czech side Spartak Hradec Králové – now SK Hradec Králové - were due to face Romanian side CCA Bucuresti – now FC Steaua Bucuresti - in the preliminary round of the 1960/61 European Cup, but the Romanian side withdrew. With the Romanian national team having lost 2-0 and 3-0 against Czechoslovakia in the quarter-finals of the 1960 UEFA European Championship, Romania's ruling communist party had decided in June 1960 to ban all Romanian clubs from European club competitions and withdraw the national side from the 1962 FIFA World Cup qualifiers to avoid the risk of further humiliation.
• PSG play Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Matchday 3's other Group G game.

Rapid really needs the victory in this game as the last game will be in Greece where they meet the best team from this group.
They show excellent skills lately scoring 11 goals in 3 games while receiving none and this game is the game of the season for them.
Ive seen Mlada in a game lately when i had a bet on them and even if they won by 2-1 they didnt look at all impressive.
What more can i say? Great form, no injuries, very important game.
I expected odds higher than this, but even 1.50 is good.

in fact the odds are not good at all!and there will not be an easy victory as the present odds sugest.
Dont underestimate Mlada!
Rapid is in good shape latelly but they play better away than at home where they could easely lose some points against Urziceni!
Mlada played this weekend away at Slovan and made a draw 1-1.I dont know much about this game but Mlada was in 10 men fron 27's minute.
The czechs will come to Bucuresti with nothing to lose and the presure will be on Rapid as they must win this game!
IMO a draw is not out of question and i will not bet with such low odds!

One injury for Rapid: defensive midfielder Lazar will be replaced by Grigore most probably.
And another news: Mazilu will be in first eleven instead of Moldovan because he scored 4 goals in last matches.
I think that Rapid has the qualities to win this game without any problem, even with more than one goal difference.

First of all, Mlada wont come in Giulesti to defend, just like Urziceni did or most of the teams. They will come to win. It will be an open game, just how Rapid likes.
Second of all, Lazar is not unavailable for the game, he is just doubtfull and has chances to play. And remember vs Ceahlaul Lazar injured in 62nd min at the score of 0-0, so Rapid managed to succeed a 3-0 even without him.
Mlada looks to me a solid team, they succeeded some nice results..but most of them at home. They have a very tall defence and thats not an advantage for them IMO. Rapid's strikers..Zicu, Buga can speculate the imobility of Mlada's defence.
All in all I see an open game with 1 result, home win. And dont try to accuse me of being a fan here, I posted my arguments. I think as a punter.
Cheers!

I do not think MB will not defend. IMO they would be satisfied with one point from that game. Their defence was working quite well in the game againsta Panathinaikos. They made just one mistake and Panathinaikos punished it. On the other hand, Pana did not seem to be much interested in attacking.
Anyway I have to agree completely with your point concerning tall defenders. In the Czech league they often have problems with smaller and faster forwards. That might be the reason Liberec changed both of their forwards for their Sunday's game against MB. These problems are obvious especially when the terrain is not good - after heavy rain, for example.
I also have to add recently MB had some troubles regarding fitness. Too many matches for a team that is not used to it. Also, about 3 weeks ago some of the players suffered with entero-idea, what made them even weaker. Anyway, they seem to be over these problems.
I think MB should not win in Romania, but because I do not know that much about their opponnent I am not able to say whether Rapid is going to win. What I am sure about, the odds for HW are not worth taking the risk.

Rain was the prognose, here in Bucharest, made today for tomorow...
When a side without experience in Europe who is coming for a draw meats a side with experience who needs badly a win usually the experience wins.Rapid hasnt squad problems, havent recieved a goal for some matches,is undefeated for ten games in a row, so everything is perfect.Last champioship match of Rapid was a hard one cause we have played with a team playing with gest one stricker and rest of the team defending the 0-0 without a real atack for the whole match.Rapid usually has problems with this kind of teams but some fine display in the second -half was enough for whose three points(some other 2-3 chances were missed by Rapid). It was a big win cause now we have the same points with the second place and this year this place guarantees a preliminary CL ticket!
Rapid coach was present at the match won by Mlada with Most and he saw a hard match for the hosts playing not so brightly with an average team from the Czech republic. They dont have our technique ,their football is based on force and organisation and usually they score from set-pieces.So,two totally diferent styles of play.
Rapid will win!even handicap is a good choice.

Rapid will play on a wet grass like they did vs PSG too. So the rain wont be a problem. Rapid will take care of that, they are not stupid.

Can someone explain why the odds are set so low on home win? Is there any important absences in Malda Boleslav, they are in poor form or maybe Rapid is playing great lately? I am asking this because 1.50-1.55 is really to low and according to my knowledge the quality difference between these two teams is not that big

AFC Rapid Bucuresti - FK Mlada Boleslav
pick :Rapid
1,60@expekt
After they have started with some inconstat results, Rapid is playing well those days and they need bad the points in this match.
Rapid must win this at home, because at Panatinaikos it will be hundred time much dificult to win.Rapid has big suport at home and they should win this.
The atackers from rapid are in great form last games and i think Mlada will not resist .Also the guests are not having the best form.

I watched M. boleslav when they played against Panathinaikos in the last round (0-1 FT), three weeks ago. I don't know if they underperformed for an unknown (to me) reason but the Czech team was really awfull. No creativity, no experience, no attacking power. They created their first goal chance in the game in the last minute.
And take in mind that Panathinaikos was far from being a strong team in that period (a small progress has been made since then).
I know nothing about Rapid.
