Hello fellow punters, decided to share my winter play for today's DH.

Elena Fanchini - Lara Gut 1 (1,83) 5/10

Took the veteran against Lara, so far Gut hasn't convinced me yet, still searching for that awesome form imo. + Italian showing some great skiing over the past few weeks.

Mikaela Shiffrin - Michelle Gisin 1 (1,83) (4/10)

The Slalom/GS queen of the past few seasons is getting better and better in fast disciplines. Young american is starting to impress me, reminds me of Tina.

+ gonna go for Goggia on podium @ 5, real small stake though, more of a "fan pick"

Hope this thread comes to life, love betting on winter sports, i think it has great value when you got good knowledge.

Zdravo, Linex!
Nice to see someone else, this thread should thrive, with Olympic Games and all the classic races that are coming.
One won, one lost, nice one on Shiffrin. A pity for Elena, she had about the worst possible conditions and had no real chance for better result.
I won one and lost one, too today and won on mens downhill (i really dont understand how Fayed was favourite against Sander).
GL, tomorrow two more races, let us win some more!

So another ski weekend ahead and here are my selections:

LEITINGER Roland - MUFFAT-JEANDET Victor (GS)

I believe those 2 should be rated as even competitors but bookies favored Mufat-Jeandet. However, i do believe Roland should finish above the frenchman IF he doesn't make a big mistake. Which he does so many times, unfortunatelly.

LEITINGER Roland (2,1) 2/10

Tina Weirather - Lara Gut (SuperG)

Still not impressed with Lara's preformence this year and i will continue to fade her untill i am . Not to mention Tina won first SuperG this season, which shows se was able to keep the form she was in in last season. No-brainer for me.

Tina Weirather (1,83) 5/10

Leans:

Myhrer over Tonneti (GS)
Haugen over Olsson (GS)
Goggia over Vonn (SuperG)
Worley over Schnarf (SuperG)

might post something tomorrow for sunday, gotta see the conditions first and more accurate weather forecast.

PS: Taking Boe to win pursuit tomorrow in Hochfilzen (Biathlon). Lately, Fourcade's starts of the season are slow, normally he becomes the beast as we know him by after the NY. I also hope his time has come, Boe showing incredible form this year and might end Fourcade's reign in Biathlon. One can only hope.
i know its not the right thread but im not gonna start one just for one pick.

Boe to win pursuit (2,75) 5/10

Welcome to the thread, mate!
And we took the same pick!!
I did not bother to bet on Super G (Ladies), weather will be poor in StMoritz and even if the race takes place it could be full of surprises.

But I took these from Men`s Giant Slalom in Val d`isere, weather there also poor, but on GS the influence is not so tragic.

As expected, Muffat Jeandet disaster, but as you were afraid, Leitinger out...

Yup ladiesGS went as expected, "all-or-nothing" Leitinger dissapointed me yet again oh well...At least Boe delivered, gonna back him in friday's sprint for sure.

Normally i don't bet on Slalom since the room for error is too small but i'll give it a go tomorrow with a few lowstake picks.

Loic Meillard - Manuel Feller

Going with the youngster here, he's starting to shape into a great rider, perhaps he's abit too eager and has psychological issues like Leitinger but on the long run he shouldn't dissapoint.

Meillard @ 1,66

Henrik Kristoffersen - Marcel Hircher

Taking Henrik here, basiclly we saw in Beaver Creek already that he's still on the top level, what supprised me though is Hircher's performance in Slalom. Might be still abit sleepy or phisically not there yet so i'm going against him today (which i normally never do).

Kristoffersen @ 1,66

+gonna throw some change on these2:
Khoroshilov on podium @ 6
Hargin on podium @ 7

Might back few underdogs to win outright in the morning, but only if the conditions will be bad. In my opinion Henrik and Marcel are at least a level above the rest. So tread lightly.

**** we are on oposite side here, I like to go against "favourites" (all ties are tight anyway so there are no clear favourites) in slalom, I rather take Hirscher @2,20 or Feller at about the same odds. I also took Marko Schwarz.

12/10/2017 09:30 12/10/2017 00:41 Foss Solevaag - Schwarz General picks A Macot
12/10/2017 09:30 12/10/2017 00:35 Kristoffersen - Hirscher General picks A Macot
12/10/2017 09:30 12/10/2017 00:51 Meillard - Feller General picks A Macot

Well Feller (had best times and did stupid mistake at the end) out again, otherwise he would win against meillard who was skiing on very poor piste and is only 22nd at the moment.
Other two pairs still alive, but not kicking.
Hirscher v Kristoffersen will be tight.

A small profit at the end for me, Hirscher won the tie, Schwarz void same time as Norweigan and only Feller, who had the best partial times in the first run, did not finish...

And Super G Ladies was cancelled so nothing there.

Overall great first part of the season for me, Boe increased my bank for quite a bit, but i doubt things will be the same after the christmas break. Next up Oberhof, 02.01.

Might post something in the evening for the Sunday Alpine races, and apologies for using this thread for Biathlon picks
