Ludogorets sits on top of the domestic First League as well as in Group C of the Europa League. Dimitar Dimitrov’s men have won 8 points in four Europa League rounds and remain above the other main round of 32 pretenders, being on one point over second-placed Braga and with four over third-placed Hoffenheim, whilst Istanbul Basaksehir have won two points only. This means that a draw here can be an acceptable result for Ludogorets, especially if Hoffenheim fails to win in Braga.
In the official pre-match press conference Dimitar Dimitrov stated that even a draw would be a suitable result for Ludogorets, but his team will play offensive football and put its best effort to win. Indeed, a victory will secure Ludogorets a position in the next phase, no matter what happens in Portugal.

Cosmin Moti and Virgil Misidjan have both missed the last domestic league round but everyone in the Razgrad outfit believe they should be ready to feature against Istanbul Basaksehir. Moti should take his position as a centre-back partner of Igor Plastun, while Virgil Misidjan, who missed the first leg in Istanbul, will lead the attack. Misidjan playing the “false nine” role can be a dangerous challenge for the Turkish defensive line as his presence in Ludogorets’ attack increases the overall pace.

Visitors from Turkey are heading to neighbouring Bulgaria with a minor chance to qualify for the next round. First of all, Istanbul Basaksehir must chase a mandatory victory in Razgrad but they must also hope Braga will slip up against Hoffenheim at home.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Avci’s men are doing extremely well in the Süper Lig where they have accomplished a massive 5:1 success in a derby on top vs Galatasaray last Saturday.

Abdullah Avci likes to rotate the squad and it seems that the Süper Lig is his main priority, although club’s chairman Göksel Gümü***351;da***287; has stated the game in Razgrad is not less important compared with last weekend’s match. In fact, Turkish teams don’t give up that easily on the international stage, so I sincerely believe Istanbul Basaksehir will be keen on getting the full set of points, even if Avci makes some changes in the starting lineup. He must refresh the squad anyway, it is not a secret that big part of the experienced names are aged over 30 and club’s overall age is: 30,1.

Former Ludogorets player Junior Caicara has missed the weekend Süper Lig round due to suspension and is likely to start in Razgrad. Goalkeeper Mert Günok may get more first-team football by replacing Volkan Babacan, while captain Emre Belözoglu and Mahmut Takdemir, who have both missed the match vs Galatasaray, are still questionable. So Abdullah Avci may decide to stick within same central midfield duo between Gökhan Inler and Irfan Can Kahveci.
Adebayor (scored a hat-trick vs Galatasaray) and another former Premier League star Gaël Clichy did not traveled to Bulgaria due to pain felt after the last match, so Istanbul Basaksehir’s medical staff decided to leave them in Turkey as a prevention.
Aurélien Chedjou, Egemen Korkmaz, Tunay Torun and Mehmet Batdal are all recovering from injuries and will miss out.

Possible starting XIs:

Ludogorets: Jorge Broun – Cicinho, Igor Plastun, Cosmin Moti, Natanael – Anicet, Jacek Goralski – Jody Lukoki, Marcelinho, Wanderson – Virgil Misidjan. (4-2-3-1)

Istanbul Basaksehir: Mert Günok – Alparslan Erdem, Alexandru Epureanu, Joseph Attamah, Junior Caicara – Gökhan Inler, Irfan Can Kahveci – Kerim Frei, Marcio Mossoro, Edin Visca – Mevlut Erdinc. (4-2-3-1)

More about the game for all interested: Ludogorets vs Istanbul Basaksehir

Ludogorets are favourites in the second leg but I don't think the Turkish side should be underestimated here, neither those players who don’t get enough first-team football and can use that game to prove their ability.

Pick: Both teams to score - Yes
Odds: 1.83 @ NetBet
Stake: (7/10)

Ludogorets -0.50 @ 1.75 SBOBET

Basaksehir are a decent team. They just defeated Galatasaray 5-1 in the league. I backed Basaksehir with high stakes even though they were without key players! Because Basaksehir know how to play this kind of games and their coach is a genius for this kind of local games. When he pays attention to the game, play with best available lineup and analys the opponent, they are always a hard team to defeat. They almost knocked out Sevilla in the Champions League play-off round.

Basaksehir started with best available lineup against Ludogorets in the first game of grup stage. But they played very poor. Ludogorets were more closer to win. 3 days later, Basaksehir dropped 2 points in the league. After that, Basaksehir coach started to make changings in the Europa League. Against Braga, he decided to rest 3 players. They lost that game. And then he decided to make more changings! Agains Hoffenheim, there were only 3 regulars in the lineup. They lost again. In the return leg against Basaksehir, coach decided to play with only 3 regulars again. They got a draw with a last-minute goal.

Basaksehir have never won Turkish league title and they are in a good position in the title race this season. So they dont care the Europa League. They will play a tough league game against Kayserispor. Basaksehir coach decided to make changings again. Key striker Adebayor and regular left-back Clichy are rested. Key midfielder Emre Belozoglu and regular midfielder Mahmut Tekdemir did not play in the last league game due to injury. They could play here but coach did not want to take any risk, they will not play. Reserve striker Mehmet Batdal and reserve winger Tunay Torun are injured as well.

We are likely to see lots of reserve Basaksehir players to start again. More importantly, Basaksehir coach does not analys these Europa League games like league games. As I said, analys is an important part of his success. Motivation is definitely on the home side. I know they also have some injury concerns like Misidjan, Moti but this game is no important for Basaksehir.

Ludogorets could win in Istanbul against Basaksehir. They recorded two wins in a row after that, defeated Braga and Hoffenheim. In the last game, they got a draw against Braga after conceding a late goal. I think they defeat Basaksehir at home.

Moti and Misidjan will play. But let's don't forget that Ludo's defense is far from stable if they're put under a little pressure. Only a few weeks ago they've lost to CSKA Sofia (true, the game was only three days after their draw with Braga) while playing 11 against 10 in closing parts of the game, but CSKA were those who controlled the game and showed that Ludogorets needs some serious improvement at the back.
