Default AUSTRALIA: A-League - 23.12

Football / Australia / Kick off: 23 Dec 2017, 07:35
Wellington Phoenix - Sydney FC
Pick: Away (1X2) @ 1.537 9/10 PINNACLE

Sydney FC have the best defense and the 2nd attack, against the last one which took 1 point in 4 matches I think that the difference exists

Wellington Phoenix coach Darije Kalezic has a handful of headaches with key trio Roy Krishna, Michael McGlinchey and Andrew Durante battling injuries, while Dario Vidosic looks to have suffered a serious knee injury too during last round's 1-0 loss in Perth.

Sydney FC have few problems with Milos Ninkovic returning from a calf injury with 30 minutes off the bench in last round's 3-1 home win over Melbourne City.

Wellington Phoenix
Injured/unavailable: Dylan Fox (hamstring); Dario Vidosic, Roy Krishna (both knee); Michael McGlinchey (groin), Andrew Durante (calf)

Sydney FC
Injured/unavailable: Rhyan Grant (knee)

Sydney FC haven't lost in New Zealand in the league since 2013, so the trip across the Tasman holds no fears for the champions. Sydney have also won four of their five away games this season, proving they travel well.

Wellington Phoenix's woes haven't been helped by poor home form, having only recorded one win from five games at Westpac Stadium this campaign. The Phoenix have scored 12 goals in those five games, but conceding an alarming 13, the highest in the A-League.

Sydney have only conceded two goals in five away games this term and I think that says it all. The Phoenix won't be able to break them down nor stop the goals the other way.

Wellington Phoenix haven't beaten Sydney FC at home since 2013, with the Sky Blues unbeaten in their past five matches across the ditch. These two clubs have met 37 times, with only five draws, while Sydney have won 17 of them.

Away Win

1:4
easy won by Sydney FC

Melbourne Victory vs Newcastle Jets
Kick off at 9.50 CET
2.00 3.79 3.60 @bet365

Both teams are in good shape. But Melbourne Victory (current form 3-0-2) are one of the worst home teams while Newcastle Jets (current form 4-0-1) proved that they can beat anyone this term no matter where they play.
Big missing for Newcastle is their best goalscorer O'Donovan, but he only played once (33 minutes) in the last 6 games, and Newcastle won four times scoring 14, that is, they can cope with him being unavailable.

Melbourne Victory won 3 out of their last five. All games were won away. Two wins came against the last two teams and they won against Melbourne City with a 96th(!) minute penalty.
At home they look clueless: two draws against weak teams (Brisbane Roar and WS Wanderers), and three losses.
For me nothing indicates Melbourne Victory to be favourites.
Am I missing something, or is there a trap here?
Any thoughts are welcome!

My bet is Newcastle to win. Even X2 pays well, 1.83@bet365. GL!
