Default Norway Eliteserien 15-17 July

Saturday 15.07.2017 Lillestrøm - Stabæk:

Both teams are using natural grass at their home stadiums.

Game start at 17:00 CET (18:00 Local Time)

Lillestrøm (6-3-7) played 3-3 draw away against Sarpsborg 08, and the change of Lillestrøms play and enthusiam of late are remarkable. 4-1-1 in their latest games, and their 3 latest home games are won.
Lillestrøm are 4-0-4 at home, with goal score 10-9.
Marius Amundsen (Def 16/0) is suspended.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Stabæk (7-3-6) won 2-0 at home against Brann, and can once again (if they keep top scorer Omoijuanfo) shock with a top 3 finish at the end of the season.
Stabæk are 3-1-3 on the road, with goal score 10-15.

Lillestrøm - Stabæk ended 1-2 in 2016. (Stabæk - Lillestrøm ended 2-4 one month ago).

Battle between two sides, that are more than capable of winning such game of late.
Lillestrøm used to be the gritty defense team, that may score on counter-attacks by their quick attackers, or some once in a lifetime long shots from midfield.
What a transformation Arne Erlandsen and the Lillestrøm squad have done the latest months. Entertaining football, a "never give up" attitude that has been gone for years, and best of all, all first 11 eleven players are still in the lineup as were halfway into the season.
If they avoid the temptation to sell, Lillestrøm can be a top side at the end of Eliteserien 2017.
Stabæk havent been at the same level as in the earlier rounds the latest months, but they still show that they are capable of defeating most sides on a good day.
The 4 latest mutual games between these sides (home/away) have ended with 3 goals or more, and in their current form, I dont see why Lillestrøm should go back to their "defense first" strategy here. Lillestrøm will miss a key centre-back here, and Stabæk should get to good chances as well.

Pick: Over 3 goals, 9/10 stakes, odds 1.99@SBO. Good luck!

Sunday 16.07.2017 Molde - Strømsgodset:

Both teams are using artificial pitch at their home stadiums.

Game start at 17:00 CET (18:00 Local Time)

Molde (8-3-5) won 3-0 away against rivals Aalesund last round, and only the goal difference seperates Ole Gunnars Solskjærs talented squad at 4th, and Brann at 2nd, as were halfway into Eliteserien 2017.
Molde are 5-0-2 at home, with goal score 16-7.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Strømsgodset (4-6-6) played their best 45 minutes so far this season, in the first half against Kristiansund last round (4-0 lead at HT). They won 4-2 in the end, and easy victories against newly promoted sides at home, are no more than expected wins for the Drammen side.
Strømsgodset are 0-3-5 on the road, with goal score 4-15.
Key defender Lars-Christopher Vilsvik (Def 15/0) and Francisco Junior (Mid 16/0) are suspended.

Molde - Strømsgodset ended 4-2 in 2016.

Normally a battle between two medal candidates, but Strømsgodset are far from a top side this season.
Molde have won 7 of their 9 latest games (league+cup), and key attacker Bjørn Bergmann Sigurdarson (Att 16/10) have scored in 4 straight league games now.
Strømsgodset with season best at home in first half against newly promoted Kristiansund, but they have yet to win away from Marienlyst, and they have two key players out tonight.
Former Molde coach Tor Ole Skullerud will most likely be well prepared for facing his former side, but Strømsgodset have only scored 4 goals in 8 away games so far, while allowing 15 goals against. That doesnt bide well, against a in-form home side, with many capable goal scorers, and a top scorer candidate with 5 goals in his 4 latest games.
Molde have won 3 straight home games in the league now, and they have won the two latest mutual games with at least two goals.

Pick: Molde (-1.5 AH), 9/10 stakes, odds 3.10@Unibet. Good luck!

Sunday 16.07.2017 Odd - Viking:

Odd are using artificial pitch at Skagerak Arena. Viking are using natural grass at their home stadium.

Game start at 17:00 CET (18:00 Local Time)

Odd (6-4-5) played 0-0 draw at home against Sarpsborg 08 last round. In fact 4 of the 5 latest league games have ended 0-0 draw for the Skien side, and its rare to see them involved in high scoring games of late.
Odd are 4-2-1 at home, with goal score 8-3.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Viking (2-4-10) played 1-1 draw at home against Sogndal last round, but the bottom side have played better in their latest games, and have been unlucky in the last minutes several times.
Viking are 0-2-6 on the road, with goal score 6-18.
Karol Mets (Def 15/0) is suspended.

Odd - Viking ended 2-2 in 2016. (Viking - Odd ended 3-0 earlier this season)

Odd have impressed defensivly all season, but they have lacked the many goals scored, especially at home, up front in Eliteserien 2017.
Viking started the season terrible, and they have still a long way to go to avoid relegation, but coach Ian Burchnall and his squad, seem ready for the fight.
Vikings 5 latest games have all been close games (1-2-2), with one goal differences in their defeats or victories.
10 of Odds 15 Eliteserie games this season, have all ended with 2 or less goal scored.
Viking have clearly turned things around in their defensive end of late, and I believe Viking will be satisfied with a solid defensive effort, and a low scoring draw here.

Pick: Under 2.5 goals, 9/10 stakes, odds 1.92@SBO. Good luck!

Monday 17.07.2017 Kristiansund - Vålerenga:

Kristiansund are using artificial pitch at Kristiansund Stadion. Vålerenga are using natural grass at their home stadium.

Game start at 18:00 CET (19:00 Local Time)

Newly promoted Kristiansund (4-5-7) lost 2-4 away against Strømsgodset last round, but they are undefeated at home since the season opener (3 wins, 4 draws).
Kristiansund are 3-4-1 at home, with goal score 12-9.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Vålerenga (6-4-5) played 0-0 draw away against Brann last round, and the Oslo side have 5 straight games without defeat now (2-3-0).
Vålerenga are 2-1-4 on the road, with goal score 9-14.
Rasmus Lindkvist (Def/Mid 6/0) has signed for Swedish side AIK.
Herman Stengel (Mid 12/2) is out.

No recent mutual games in Kristiansund. (Vålerenga - Kristiansund ended 1-0 earlier this season)

Newly promoted Kristiansund were 0-4 down at HT away against Strømsgodset last round, but stepped it up in 2nd half, and lost 2-4 in the end. Much stronger performances at home though, 7 games undefeated (3-4-0) now.
Vålerenga seem to slowly advance into a upper half/medla candidate side now, and if key players like Fredheim Holm and Moa will stay clear of injuries, the stage is set for a great second part of the season, including the opening of their new stadium, for Ronny Deilas men.
Kristiansund played a 3-3 draw against Rosenborg in their latest home game, but 6 of Kristiansunds 8 home games in Eliteserien 2017, have ended Under 2.5 goals.
Vålerenga played 0-0 draw away against Brann in their latest away game, and 3 of 7 away games have ended Under 2.5 goals.
I believe Vålerenga will have a strong second part of the season, but the away game against Kristiansund will sure be a tricky task, and they will be cautious regaring Kristiansunds quick counter-attack/long ball strategy. The home side will be very focused on their defensive tasks after the Strømsgodset game, they will be very aware of Vålerengas threaths, and Kristiansund have only scored one goal in 8 home games in the first 45 minutes.
Under 2.5 goals will be my call. (1.91@188bet, 1.94@SBO, Pinnacle, @1.97 Unibet, @2 Marathonbet)

Pick: Under 2.5 goals, 9/10 stakes, odds 1.97@Unibet. Good luck!

Ooh, my!
Counting on Kristiansund's leaky defence and their ability to score I already bet on over.
