FC Basel VS Apollon Limassol
For me this match is a "1X2" but when your precious money is on the line you start to think that Basel at home may wake up and start playing well, so Apollon to qualify over two legs is probably the safest approach here.
AS Trencin vs AEK Larnaca
I notice that Trencin concedes a lot of goals at home and the "Spanish" AEK is good at scoring them!
Trencin also happens to score a lot of goals at home but can they do so against AEK's near perfect defense? I'm just not convinced that Trencin is the team that will ruin AEK's good run ...just yet.
This match is a "X2" for me.
APOEL Nicosia vs Astana
The current APOEL is just too unstable and unpredictable to be betting on.

Copenhagen are missing important midfielder Rasmus Falk and do not have a 1:1 replacement for his offensive abilities. Instead, central midfield will most likely be either Zeca-Kvist or Zeca-Gregus. In both cases, balance in the team will be disrupted as it will be two defensive midfielders seeking the same positions and not contributing anything to the offensive.
Atalanta have had some very impressive results so far and they might just thrash Copenhagen completely and meet the overs on their own, but I don't see value there. I would rather go for Atalanta to win, both teams to score: no @ 2.25.
Probable result: 2-0. Of course we cannot completely rule out that Fischer pulls off something spectacular but I'm sure FCK will have very few chances tonight.

As I said, I don't know enough to come to an informed opinion about Burnley's degree of motivation to play this competition.
If that's what you're saying then tell us why they weren't motivated to win top dollar by entering the GS!
This is not making sense...

My point is that if we expect FCK to take a whooping here (which is quite likely) it makes no sense to go for overs @ 1.87 and not just home team -1.5 @ 2.25.
Or do what I recommended above, taking into account the possibility of some unlucky finishing and still winning bet with a 1-0 result.
Good luck!

The EL may be a lot of money for teams from Eastern Europe but it's not a spectator magnet or gold mine for English clubs.

About Olympiakos (vs Burnley)
Most of the things have been mentioned so i will add only a few. I'm not interesting on betting on this game as there are too many factors involved that can make the bet "unstable" but let's see a few things.
As was said above, Olympiakos is a very new team. New coach, new players, new roles, new striker, new defense, new midfield line etc etc. It is important to mention that beside that Olympiakos doesn't have games on their feet, some of their players don't have also games on their feet. Some transfers came with better physical condition and some came with worst. It is still early to name them as a team that knows what it is doing on the pitch, that's why i wrote above about the too many factors involved. Other than that, they will have a strong team this season with some transfers they made and surely they will put a fight tonight as well in order to win.
I will agree with most saying that English teams (Premier League teams actually) don't bother much with European games in EL. But i tend to agree also that this is something that much older coaches were doing (like big Sam for example). Mostly that was because the money from staying at Premier League were much much bigger than playing at EL and might end up been relegated at domestic league.
I don't know much about Burnley but i can see that they have tall bodies and if they are good at set pieces, then they might score. Also, because of their height, Olympiakos will play mostly with the ball on their feet and not in the air but then again, how good is the pitch for that? As mentioned also above, Neither Burnely or Olympiakos trained at the stadium yesterday (Oly went at training grounds and Burnley at Panionio's stadium).
Mind also that the owner of Olympiakos is the owner of Nottingham Forest as well, so getting information about Burnley wont be such a problem. And since we came down to that, Oly doesn't see that much the qualification for the EL money. It's more like business to them, they sell players at high prices over the last years. If i can't post here for some reason, find me here https://marianov6.blogabet.com/

About Basel since they were mentioned and since my team (PAOK) faced them at the CL round
It's not about when they will wake up but more like when they will be ready for it. They are not a bad team and i rate them as a dangerous team but the previous coach seems to have made big mistakes in preparation during summer which has lead to a team with very bad physical condition. It has been three weeks now since PAOK faced Basel, so their physical condition must be a bit better but still, i don't know if it is where it should be at this stage of the season. If someone has following them on their last games, he may write an update on thisIf i can't post here for some reason, find me here https://marianov6.blogabet.com/

About Rangers since i wrote a few things about them already in the past days
One bad news and one good news.
The bad news is that Jamie Murphy got injured during the League Cup game against Kilmarnock and he will be out for the rest of the season. Steven Gerrald critisize a lot the plastic pitch of Kilmarnock for this injury and since i happened to watch that game, i'm still wondering how Kilmarnock players don't have knee problems The pitch was very very bad.
The good news now is about what i wrote the last time, that Morelos cannot play alone in attack and that they need a second striker. Yesterday morning Kyle Lafferty passed the medical and become again a Ranger's player (he was at the past again but left when Rangers dropped to third division). Lafferty is EXACTLY the kind of player Rangers were missing in attack to play along Morelos and he will add a lot at that line. They signed him yesterday, Rangers had an opportunity to add him at the EL list since yesterday afternoon but i don't know yet if they did that. If he has been added and if Steve start him tonight, then Rangers will be different no matter that Lafferty hasn't train with the rest of the group this summer. He knows the ground and his characteristics are what Ranger's were missing. We will learn later today i guessIf i can't post here for some reason, find me here https://marianov6.blogabet.com/

If Falk was in the team FCK would stand a fair chance of scoring, but as it is I think there will be very few chances for the visitors.
Especially if Kvist is playing their possession play will be extremely slow-paced and they will probably be forced to employ a lot of long passes towards N'Doye who will have to battle the defensive line on his own.
Nothing is ever certain but I just don't see Copenhagen scoring tonight.
(I think I said the same thing when they faced Atletico Madrid in February and Fischer scored with a back heel five minutes into the game, but... yeah, THIS time I'm sure lol)

I want to warn everybody who is going to bet on Atalanta - copenhagen game, that the referee will be a crazy guy from Czech Republic (Pavel Kralovec). I had huge respect to FCK until this month, but since I'd watched both games with CSKA Sofia, this (FCK) is not a football club, but a mafia structure. I am 100% sure that Kralovec will make whatever it is necessary to help FCK to get a good result. Otherwise, the efforts of his colleagues Vertenten and Umut Meler will be in vain. The mafia does not work that way. Kralovec is known for easily giving yellow cards, so I expect over in yellow cards, maybe a red card for Atalanta, or a penalty for FCK. If you find these bets you should try it. The only reasonable bet here is FCK +1.5, because the offside rule does not exist when they attack, it exists only when they defend and oh my lord how it exists... even if your player is 2m covered by their defence it is still offside. Oh, I forgot to add one more thing. They are playing to the old rules of football. Their goalkeeper can catch the ball when a defender pass back to him. Stay away or bet on FCK. This is the UEFA Mafia reality.Last edited by valdi; 23-08-18, 13:32.

I think 0-0 is well worth a punt in Trencin vs. AEK Larnaca at odds of 12. Both teams will not have expected to stand a realistic chance of making it past the playoffs and qualifying for the EL would be a huge feat for them. I believe Trencin have an annual budget of 2 million euros so you can imagine the difference participation in the EL would make. Trencin have never accomplished this and Larnaca have only managed this once before in 2011. At the time, Larnaca who have been very solid defensively so far played 0-0 away with Rosenborg. I would not be surprised if we see a repeat of that. I am expecting both teams to take a safety first approach and to try to get a grounding in the game while seizing up their opponent. As the clock runs down they may be even less inclined to take risks. Both teams might settle for a 0-0 score. Of course, a lucky punch could change the dynamics but I'd be surprised if we see a lot of clearcut scoring chances. Moreover, while Larnaca are marginally stronger than Trencin that should be canceled out by the home advantage so that the 2 sides are more or less even.Last edited by WiserthantheCrowd; 23-08-18, 13:29.
