Default Basel - Man City
21:45 Basel - Manchester City 9.36 4.93 1.35

Taking this bet as soon as possible. Basel lost a bunch of very important players and found no decent replacements. The key playmaker Luka Zuffi, the best defender Akanji, the right wing Renato Steffen all left.

Basel looked horrible vs Lugano. Actually, horrible is a weak word. I have never seen Basel so pathetic against another Swiss team. They couldn't create a single chance, they looked completely clueless, desperate and with zero confidence in all lines of the field.

City have some injury concerns. Leroy Sane is out, but I think Bernardo Silva is playing well in the two games as a replacement so far. David Silva has some injury,.but he should be okay. Left back Mendy is long term injury, but his substitute Danilo is a top player.

I personally expect a demolishing here. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4-5 to nil win for City, given Basel's dismal condition at the moment.

Man City -1.5 @ 2

Yes, I got corrected on private messages, but forgot to update the info. Anyway, he will not play (injury).

Watched Basel vs Thun. Played better than against Lugano, but again too far from their form from the autumn. They look very dull upfront. Eloynoussi, Stocker, Bua - these guys are simply not good enough. Oberlin and Wolfswinkel are a bit better, but these two guys won't make it in any Premier League team.

There is one factor, which I didn't consider, though. The League Cup final vs Arsenal on Sunday. I don't know whether it will have effects on City. I am sure it will affect Arsenal game vs Ostersund in EL (because they play Thursday and because it is crucial for Wenger to get a trophy), but I doubt it will affect much City.

As I wrote, Leroy Sane is out, also Silva very likely will miss the game, as he still has injury concerns. However, exactly at this moment two players of City are hitting their absolute best form of the season- Sergio Aguero and De Bruyne.

Cuadrado isn't such a blow, but Dybala surely is. Bernardeschi who plays well in the past weeks or Douglas Costa will start as a right wing and Mandzukic from the left side, with Higuain on top. The Argentine striker is in form, scoring six goals in the last four games but of course, we can't compare matches against Sassuolo, for instance, with a CL 1/8 final against Spurs. However, Juve are really strong at home and Tottenham's boss perfectly knows that. I expect more cautious approach by Spurs but they will surely try to score, since a goal in Italy and avoiding a defeat would be a massive result before the second game at "Wembley".

Some sites predict Aurier to start as a RB for Spurs which can be a great opportunity for Juve, imo. Aurier and Sanchez playing in one zone, that's a great chance for the hosts who can surely benefit from these two defenders. Aurier is very overrated while Sanchez has a lot of potential but is still far from Alderweireld's level.

Possible Lineups:

Juventus FC: Gianluigi Buffon – Alex Sandro, Giorgio Chiellini, Medhi Benatia, Mattia De Sciglio – Sami Khedira, Claudio Marchisio, Miralem Pjanic – Mario Mandzukic, Gonzalo Higuain, Federico Bernardeschi. (4-3-3)

Tottenham: Hugo Lloris – Ben Davies, Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez, Kieran Trippier/Serge Aurier – Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele – Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son – Harry Kane. (4-2-3-1)

Other pages suggest Spurs will start with a 4-2-3-1 and Wanyama in midfield.
Juve's defensive line is not so stable as well, they do not have the same trio from the past few seasons and Chiellini is expected to start with Benatia, while De Sciglio should play as a RB. This opens a fine opportunity for Spurs. BTS is my choice. Maybe we can have 1-1 or 2-1 as a final score here.

Juventus are undefeated in 26 European home matches since April 2013, having 16 wins and 10 draws ever since. Spurs, on the other hand, have one win only in 8 previous visits to Italy (4 defeats), winning 1-0 against AC Milan in February 2011.

More about the game for all interested: Juventus vs Tottenham

Pick: Both teams to score - Yes.
Odds: 2.05 @ NetBet
Stake: (5/10)

Good luck!

Statistically, Juve have conceded just once in 16 matches (a 3-1 win over Verona) but tonight they have a match from completely different quality. Duo Chiellini-Benatia is not Chiellini-Bonucci and De Sciglio is not Lichtsteiner.

Probable line up
JUVENTUS (4-3-3): Buffon; De Sciglio, Benatia, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Bentancur, Pjanic; Mandzukic, Douglas Costa, Higuain.
TOTTENHAM (3-4-2-1): Lloris; Trippier, Sánchez, Vertonghen; Alli, Dembélé, Dier, Davies; Eriksen, Son; Kane.

This will be Kane vs. Chiellini, best scorer from EPL and second scorer from CHL vs. one of the best defenders in the world, youth vs. experience. Imo, Kane will score but probably Tottenham won't win.
Tip: BTS (2.10).

Benatia is performing 10 times better than bonucci. As a defender he is way better than the italian trust me.
Also de sciglio is playing well, solid.

However also matuidi and barzagli are out for juventus

Juventus vs Totenham 0-0 HT @2,35

Juventus are a very solid defensive team, and they know travelling 2nd leg to Tottenham will not be easy at all, Real Madrid already lost there and in this 1st leg game will be cautious not to conceed. Totenham its good tactical team so i think this 00 HT have good value.

FcPorto Vs Liverpool

Liverpool not good defensively but with good attaking power for sure will score, FcPorto will score as well, they are a very solid home team. FcPorto rested important players last weekend. I belive only in 2nd leg at home Liverpool will show their superiority as a team

FcPorto to win and both teams to score or Draw and both teams to score @2,25

I would say watching Liverpool's recent games that their offensive production has slowed a bit, but then this is off a very high standard. Also with Van Dijk now in the side their defense seems to be slowly improving.

In the UCL Liverpool have played in Portugal 3 times and never won. 1 of those games was against Porto with the game ending 1-1 (2007). They also played Porto away in the Europa 0-0 (2001).

These were all low scoring games and it's fair to say that English sides in the UCL have found it tough going in Portugal with most games ending with few goals. The goal line at 2.5 tells you something and I would lean towards under 2.5 here. If Klopp uses Oxlade-Chamberlain with Can and Wijnaldum than I would be less confident.

Either way I'm leaning towards Porto to just edge it or play out a draw, so Porto + AH 0.25 for me.

Thank you for this. I followed your call - and you were even right about the 4-0 :-)
We all know the strength of Man C but it was nice to have some recent info about Basel so thanks again!

Daemon Caledor, thanks, bro!

Guys, careful with the goals in Porto-Liverpool. It isjust 1st leg. Liverpool have tightened their defense a bit lately. Offensively, they lack desperately Coutinho's creativity, also Mane is in horrible form.

It would pretty much depend on Porto's approach. If Porto "go for it", i.e. press hard and go for goals, then Liverpool would surely react and match their approach, so we will have a nice game with goals. But if Porto are more tactical and keeping it slow, Liverpool will not impose high tempo.

Soo, should we expect two 0-0 first halfs, as all four teams will be cautious?
I really do not expect Real and PSG overenthusiastically attack from the first minute...

Probable line ups:
REAL MADRID (4-3-3): Navas; Nacho, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Kroos, Modri***263;; Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema.
PSG (4-3-3): Areola; Dani Alves, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Berchiche; Verratti, Diarra, Rabiot; Mbappé, Cavani, Neymar.
This should be a goal fest, Real has big problems lately and Psg has a lot of quality. Since odds for gg or over are low, one bet to be considered is Neymar scorer (2.40). He played for Barca, he knows Real and Bernabeu, his determination should be high.
