Default Norway Eliteserien 09-11 Sept

Saturday 09.09.2017 Brann - Sogndal:

Brann are using natural grass at Brann Stadion. Sogndal are using artificial turf at their home stadium.

Game start 17:00 CET (Local time 18:00)

Brann (9-7-4) won 4-2 away against Viking before the break, and the Bergen side may very well finish the season at 2nd place twice in a row (ended 2nd as a newly promoted side last season). They are 2-1-2 in their latest games.
Brann are 6-3-1 at home, with goal score 24-5.
Backup goalies Alex Horwath (Kee 4/0) and Markus Olsen Pettersen (Kee 0/0) are injured.
First choice goalkeeper Piotr Leciejewski (Kee 16/0) is small doubt.
Brann have signed former Aalesund backup goalie Lars Cramer (Kee) on a free transfer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sogndal (6-5-9) won 2-0 at home against Kristiansund last round, and got 3 much needed points to gain some distance to the teams in the relegation zone.
The guests are 1-1-3 in their latest games.
Sogndal are 1-3-6 on the road, with goal score 7-19.

Brann - Sogndal ended 2-0 in 2016. (Sogndal - Brann ended 2-3 earlier this season)

West coast rivalry that have a tradition of being close high scoring games.
With Lars Arne Nilsen as Brann coach, we have seen a change of patterns in Brann gameplay though, and its been a while since we have used the words "hawaii-fotball" when Brann are playing at home.
Much of the reason for this is Nilsens focus on defensive structure as base for the teams chances to win. Brann have not allowed more than one goal against in their 10 home games in Eliteserien this season, still they have won 6 of 10 at Brann Stadion.
Sogndal are a 5 game non-winning streak on the road (0-2-3), and they will most likely be very defensive minded here, as it will most likely be very close in the relegation battle this season, and they will need any points possible.

- 4 of Brann 5 latest home games in Eliteserien have ended Under 2.5 goals.
- 2 of Sogndals 5 latest away games in Eliteserien have ended Under 2.5 goals.

Sure these are sides that have a history playing close high scoring games, with loads of chances, but Brann have changed their gamestyle under Lars Arne Nilsen, and they have yet to allow more than one goal against at home in Eliteserien 2017.
Sogndal will be very happy with one point here, and may try to park the bus Saturday.

Pick: Under 2.5 goals, 9/10 stakes, odds 2.07@Pinnacle. Good luck!

This will be the grand opening of Vålerengas new home stadium, and the home side will get massive support from the home supporters tonight.
Both teams advanced to the Cup Semi-Finals before the International team break.

- 4 of Vålerengas 5 latest home games in Eliteserien have ended with two goals or less scored.

Sunday 10.09.2017 Strømsgodset - Rosenborg:

Strømsgodset are using artificial turf at Marienlyst. Rosenborg are using natural grass at their home stadium.

Game start 19:00 CET (Local time 20:00)

Strømsgodset (6-8-6) played 0-0 draw away against Sarpsborg 08 last round, and the Drammen side are 3-2-0 in their latest games.
Strømsgodset are 6-3-1 at home, with goal score 21-11.
Centre-back duo Kim Andre Madsen (Def 11/0) and Jakob Glesnes (Def 20/1) are suspended.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Top side Rosenborg (12-5-3) lost 0-1 at home against Haugesund last round. They advanced to the Europa League group stage after eliminating Ajax in the playoffs, and lost 1-2 at home against Vålerenga in the Cup Quarter-Finals.
They are 4-0-1 in their latest league games.
Rosenborg are 5-3-1 on the road, with goal score 15-7.
Matthias Vilhjalmsson (Mid/Att 18/7) is out.

Strømsgodset - Rosenborg ended 2-0 in 2016. (Rosenborg - Strømsgodset ended 3-1 earlier this season)

Normally a battle between two title candidates when these teams face each other, and even though Strømsgodset have under-performed this season, they have showed signs of a team on the rise lately, especially at home (3 straight victories), and I expect a home team entering this game with a nothing to lose attitude here.
Rosenborg impressed a lot when defeating Ajax in the Europa League playoffs, and the reigning champions have many possible goalscorers these days: Jevtovic, Adegbenro, Helland, Bendtner.
Two teams motivated and fully capable of scoring many goals, and the home side will miss their centre-back duo with suspensions here. Over 3 goals will be my call (money back if 3 goals scored)

- 3 of Strømsgodsets 5 latest home games in Eliteserien have ended with 4 goals or more scored.
- Rosenborgs 3 latest away games in Eliteserien have ended with 3 goals or more scored.
- 4 of the 6 latest mutual games at Marienlyst have ended with 3 goals or more scored.

Pick: Over 3 goals, 9/10 stakes, odds 2.21@SBO. Good luck!
