Monaco lost 4-0 in Nice last week-end but this result isn't very surprising, last season they made the same result in the derby and this match is between the international break and the champions league, it has an impact on legs and minds.

I'm waiting for news and the probable line-up but i trust Monaco because, if they have lost important players, they have bought talents and the team has a lot of experience of this kind of champions league match.
The last 2 times they played champions league, they were in that kind of group where every team can qualify (2014-2015 : Bayer, Zenit, Benfica ; 2016-2017 : Bayer, Tottenham, CSKA).
And the both times, they finished first of the group and there was a German team.

If someone could write few words about RB Leipzig it would be great, i don't know much them.

Saw RBL so far once.
They totaly deserved to play CL imho. And with a very mad FCB i even keep them capable for a surprise in German BL.

But for this game i stay with the golden rule that CL games are based a lot on experience. So far all newcomers, no matter how good they have been in their local leagues got teached a hard lesson when they participated in CL for the very first time.

Considering the attacking style of RBL with their lack of experience and the very ineresting methods of Monaco may be BTS is an option here

Well, first thing I thought about this game were goals, many goals. Monaco has a huge offensive potential (smaller because of Mbappe but still nice with Falcao as a leader) and Leipzig is a good home team with some footballers that are creative in offense.

RB Leipzig last Season finished above Borussia Dortmund and that not by Chance. They have a very good but Young squad. If inexperience at this Level will cost them remains to be seen. Key Players Nabir Keita and Emil Forsberg are doubtful and if both would miss the match it would be a big blow for Leipzig. Best is to wait for the official line-ups. Odds seem to be set ok by the market.

Monaco maybe it's quite possible going to lose...Why? Because without Mbappe is don't same club like last season in Champions League! Mbappe has a well start on PSG tougher with Neymar... Monaco lost 4-0 from NIce last weekend...Falcao for me is not a good attacker and will hardly score a goal against RB Leipzig. I expect home win in this match!

Monaco is far from a one man club like you think. They have very good system and still good players. They signed Jovetic, who is imho great addition and underrated player. So what if they lost to Nice. This is CL and motive is higher than in league games, so it's not comparable. I believe that we will see goals in this match and bts + over 2,5 is my choice at first look.

People forget that Mbappe started playing minutes AFTER the winter break last season. Before that he did not play and Monaco was still on top, with Germain and Falcao up front. Monaco was a scoring machine before the winter break as well.

They also played Carrillo and Boschillia a lot back then, but they went down with injuries.

Players like Lemar and Falcao are influencial and they are still with the team. Key components like Sidibe, Fabinho, Glik, Jemerson and Subasic also. Jovetic should be a good addition as a 2nd striker and a huge upgrade over guys who are currently playing.

Yes. Moreover, Monago got hammered by Nice also last season, so this is not a big deal.

I'd be worried for Monaco only if one man leaves - Jardim. As far as he's there, the team will be very competitive.

Exactly like Miccho said. Jardim is the engineer of Monaco's success.
All players that they have signed, now and in the past, under Jardim, they performed well.
For me dnb on monaco is the biggest value of tonight, in the Champions league.

Lemar out for Monaco, he's injured.

Big blow for the French side, he's the best Monaco player with Fabinho (imo).

Jovetic is in a life time form right now! He scores for NT Montenegro vs Romania, their capitan and best player. He scored 3 goals in Inter's pre-season games. He scored 7 goals for NT and 3 assists, hat-trick vs Armenia and some really amazing goals. Buying him for 11 mill was the best move in the whole summer transfer period!!

Hattrick vs Armenia?
Terrific! Maybe he should get the golden boot.
Timo Werner in comparison not worth mentioning.

Honestly I expect nothing but a homewin.
Experience is a big word, but it's not all about that.
many expected Leipzig to collapse in Bundesliga, but they didn't.
They are not scared of CL they will enjoy it. There is no pressure.
Qualitywise this Monaco edition is surely not above the Germans.
We will see.. I expect Leipzig to score at least 2 ***128588;

This thread reminds me of Romanian teams playing in Europe,a lot of contradictory opinions. This fact along with gut feeling pushes me towards over2.5 and bts.

Able to understand what u read?
I said that Leipzig has at least the same quality as Monaco edition 2017/18.
If u think that Monaco is worldclass then u r right.
IMO still many ppl underestimate Leipzig and overestimate Monaco.
But Leipzig odds drop like hell. Still I would never touch Monaco.

Btw: I don't like Leipzig

When you compare Germany vs Armenia then you should say that someone from Germany scoring hattrick is noting special, because Germany is better team and it's expected. But when you compare Montenegro vs Armenia, it's different story. Watch highlights from that game and you will see how good goals he scored.

Naby Keita is unlikely to be fit enough for RB Leipzig's UEFA Champions League debut against Monaco on Wednesday, according to head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. (bundesliga.com)

He's an important player for them, will play at Liverpool next summer. Kevin Kampl is expected to make his full debut in Keita's place. Leipzig are an attacking team with Werner, the french Augustin (a very good and young forward), Forsberg, Bruma, even Sabitzer is good enough.

I'm taking over 2.5 and bts, I watched Leipzig against Freiburg and their defence was exposed in the first half on counters. In the second half, they scored four goals.

ps. the pace of Werner is insane, watch the second goal scored against Hamburg (sorry)!

I'm taking also both to score in both halves @ 11.

Lemar is out, but someone like Keita Balde could start in his place. Or Ghezzal.

I'm going for over 3.5 goals @2.60 and having a small punt on both teams to score in both halves @11.

This could be a 3-2, 2-3 type of game with the winner depending on the clinicalness of the team's offensive weapons. Could go either way.

Allez ASM FC!

PS: Moutinho is battling illness, Tielemans could start in his place.

Expecting something of:

Subasic, Sidibe, Glik, Jemerson, Jorge, Tielemans, Fabinho, Rony, Keita/Ghezzal, Falcao, Jovetic/Diakhaby.

Interesting starting eleven:

Benaglio
Toure, Glik, Jemerson, Jorge
Fabinho, Moutino
Sidibe, Tielemans, Diakhaby
Falcao

1st match of the season for Benaglio, not the best match to start.

I don't understand this tactic, why Touré is starting the match and Sidibe in this position ?
Very weird.

With this monaco line up, the overs have lost any kind of value imo.

It will mainly depend on Leipzig tactic, if they start the match carefully or not.

Yep, next time it would be better to wait for the lineups. Did not see this coming.
