Atalanta is not playing at home because its stadium doesn't have the UEFA license. They are playing in Sassuolo's stadium but a lot of supporters are obviously expected for their first european match. Gsperini will fild more or less the best XI here

Why? You are some kind of a sommelier or what? Give us some arguments and facts, otherwise your post is useless..

Everton away in Europe aren't going to open up too much.
They'll be happy with a point and it is much easier to sit back and defend to draw, than go all out to attack and win.
Atalanta with the ground change too, may feel like a bit of an away game for them too, even with more fans.
Could be wrong but it just shouts out a low-scoring match.

Ronald Koeman says he is taking the Europa League "very seriously," as Everton begin their campaign with an away tie against Atalanta on Thursday.

James McCarthy, Ross Barkley, Ramiro Funes Mori, Yannick Bolasie and Seamus Coleman are injured, whilst Aaron Lennon has also not travelled to Italy.

Koeman has indicated he may make some changes to the team.

"We have more than 11 players available, so we can make some rotations," he said.

"But, like always, we will start with a strong team,"

Cypriot side Apollon Limassol and France's Lyon are the other two sides in Group E

How will Arsenal cope with the Europa League?

'We need to forget about Tottenham'

Ronald Koeman says Toffees were 'too nice'
The Toffees qualified for the Europa League group stage after a 3-1 aggregate win over Croatian side Hajduk Split.

The club have had an indifferent start to their domestic season, despite bringing in 10 new players in the summer.

After a Premier League opening day win over Stoke, followed by a hard earned draw with Manchester City, they have lost consecutive games to Chelsea and Tottenham.

Everton forward Nikola Vlasic, a 19-year-old deadline day signing, says the club "need to forget about" Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Spurs, a result which prompted Koeman to say his side were "too nice."

Home away from home

Atalanta's Franck Kessie beats Torino's Joe Hart from the penalty spot
Atalanta, seen here scoring a penalty past Joe Hart on his Torino debut last season, were the surprise package in Serie A in 2016-17, going unbeaten in their last 10 games to finish in fourth place.
Atalanta, managed by Gian Piero Gasperini, qualified for the Europa League after finishing fourth in Serie A last season.

However, home advantage may be limited for Atalanta, who will play their Europa League home matches at fellow Serie A side Sassuolo's ground Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia.

The stadium is 120 miles away from Atalanta's home ground the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Itali in Lombardy, which is currently being renovated.

After consecutive losses to Roma and Napoli in their first two games in this season's Serie A, Atalanta are coming into the Europa League fixture off the back of a 2-1 win over Sassuolo on Sunday.

Everton play away at Old Trafford this weekend so surely Koeman and his players will have one eye on that upcoming game. It is true that Everton so far have performed underishly, in 8 games they have played 7 have ended in unders so the under is the logical choice here. I think that CS 0:0 is worth a shot. They will surely again try to keep it tight at the back and considering their lack of firepower it could easily end 0:0.

I agree with the shouts for unders for reasons stated above.

Both teams aren't known for their offensive prowess anyway. Both are very cautious, organized and tactical to begin with, current circumstances only boost those traits.

When i watched Everton against Chelsea, they were so limited in offense that is incredible. Even if they had some chances to attack it was so slow. They are limited offensively very much despite having Rooney. They will barely score 2 goals in one game, we will very rarely see that. Will Italians treat EL seriously? If yes DNB on home team is the play.

Atalanta will play this one hard from the start. I see a well drilled tactically astute side that will cause Everton problems. They deserve to be here and after so many years out of Europe they take this serious. A hard fought but well deserved win imo is coming to Atalanta 2.18 I have on pinnacle.

How so?

Does he only have 11 capable players? What's wrong with rotating? I'd say it's smart if you want to keep a healthy squad to choose from.
