For this game Liverpool are still without Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana. Coutinho will probably be on the bench. Sevilla rested some players during their win to Eibar at the weekend - David Soria, Nico Pareja, Guido Pizarro, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Luis Muriel and Ever Banega all didn't feature. Soria started training with the rest of the team last week after recovering from a finger injury which he suffered in the first round against Espanol. However Nolito suffered a thigh injury against Eibar and is out for this game. He scored the last goal against Eibar. Johannes Geis is also injured.

It was crystal clear from Klopp's reaction that all focus goes on to the next one and everyone at Anfield will try to forget last weekend's humiliation as soon as possible. You know, Mane was sent-off in the first half and his three-game suspension means he can entirely focus on the Champions League efforts for a few weeks, while Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino were all substituted. Moreover, Coutinho is back to training and even if he doesn't start, he can always be an option sitting on the bench. We all know that Klopp does well in the big games (well, there are some exceptions like final games or the last weekend result), but generally his ambition is to revive Liverpool on the European scene.
Last attempt (three years ago) with Brendan Rodgers was a total disaster and despite a dramatic late win over Ludogorets at home, Liverpool don't have a reason to remember that Champions League season. In fact two wins over Debrecen and a win against Ludogorets are the only Champions League group stage wins Liverpool have for 8 years and this makes the match against Sevilla something special.
BUT there is one "small" thing... Liverpool's defense. Now here expectations are for a "new line" and three rotations compared to the squad used vs Man City. Lovren will return at the centre as Klavan will make way (what players are the option that Klopp has...), Joe Gomez may start as a right-back and Andy Robertson will replace Moreno as a left-back. Matip plays the most constant role there and Klopp doesn't have any other option right now.
On other hand we have Sevilla who are really strong at home but not so good away... last example was the defeat to Leicester City couple of months ago, although it has been preceded by three clean sheets on the road in last year's group stage. This once again proves Sevilla's poor record in England (2 draws and 3 defeats), so Liverpool have a good reason to claim first "big win" in the groups when the Champions League anthem returns at Anfield. Brilliant attack with awful defense... won't be surprised if the final score is something like 2-1/3-2.

More about the game for all interested: Liverpool vs Sevilla

Pick 1: Liverpool
Odds: 1.75 @ Bet365

i dunno about this odds ... deja vu orpay back !? ...
this sevilla in terms of squad is better than that one probably in terms of bench cous ei rate berizzo better than emery and sampa ... in some aspects ...

there is no doubt their suqad is better ... only miss vitolo ... nasri and jovetis ..loaned and disposable ..then brought cracking and likely to deliver units in every line ...

for this one nolito out ..not that they do not have similar players ...

imo keeper position is still their soft spot as rico looks not rock solid sp on big stage and big ocasions... ... they imporved their back line couse ramy is slow ..

I couldn't understand the reason why odds are such high for Liverpool. I have watched Sevilla against B.sehir and Espanyol and I watched nearly all matches for L.pool.

At home L.pool is a really big dog. I expected odds to be around 1.5, 1.55...it is 1.74

Best forget the Man City game, Liverpool had a red card quite early on. May well have lost anyway, but not 5-0.
We all know what European nights at Anfield are like. The club have been waiting for this day for quite a while now. They'll be motivated.

Sevilla aren't as strong as last season under Sampaoli in my opinion. If he was still in charge I'd fancy quite an exciting game here. When Liverpool get in full stride, especially at home, not many can cope with them, as Arsenal recently found out.

Champions League: LIVERPOOL V SEVILLA, Wednesday 13th Sept

Just when we thought Liverpool is on its way to take it all, Manchester stopped their momentum in a surprising 5-0 defeat last Saturday. Even Sadio Mane was no help during the first half. This match against Sevilla is their opportunity to bounce back, and probably, to take revenge too. The Spanish Side blew their European dream last year after beating them 3-1 in the Europa League finals.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation from @scottsltr: Sevilla 0.25 at 2.820

RB LEIPZIG V AS MONACO and TOTTENHAM V BORUSSIA DORTMUND are included in the full preview. Check it out here!

Good luck!

Just for comparison... what a "pace" in that squad. When Liverpool played for the last time in the Champions League, the starting lineup looked like this:
Mignolet, Enrique, Lovren, Skrtel, Johnson, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Lambert.
