In my opinion, Manchester United are too short in this game and should not be below evens. Aston Villa have the best defence in the league, and in Milner, Young, Downing and Agbonlahor they have some very talented attacking players capable of picking open a defence. Villa are currently 7th in the league and have only won one of their last 6 league games. However, these were mostly difficult games and their victory was an impressive away win at Fulham. Villa have a home record of 6-4-2, and have only lost once there since the opening day of the season – an unlucky defeat to Liverpool. While they have seemed to lack a cutting edge in recent games, their defence has been solid and they are always a very dangerous side on the counter attack. This ability to hit on the counter could trouble the centre back pairing of Brown and Evans for United. For this game Villa have Heskey out (possibly a blessing in disguise), as well as Warnock.
As mentioned, United are missing Vidic and Ferdinand for this match, and in my opinion this could cost them. Of course United are still a very strong team and will be on a high after their victory over Arsenal and thrashing of Portsmouth, though the Portsmouth result was flattering. With an impressive away record of 7-1-4 they will be full of confidence, but as the game progresses at Villa Park, I can see frustration creeping into their game if Villa can keep it tight. United have often struggled this season away to the better teams, and 5 of their 7 away victories have come against teams in the bottom half of the table. For these reasons I will be taking Villa on the +0.5 handicap.

I will stick with just the Villa bet and keep my fingers crossed for Arsenal to get the victory...
