We know that Romania finished at 10th place on UEFA Official country standings, after the 2005/06 season, and by that Romanians will most probably have 1 team directly in CL next year ( but only if this years CL winner qulifyes directly to the CL from their domestic league - as Barcelona did last season), and 1 team will also play in CL qualifyers.

So, if winning the Romanian league means playing in the Champions league in season 2007/08, does it means that teams like Rapid and Dinamo won't push so much in UEFA Cup this season, and give their best in domestic league, trying to win the first place, or second place eventually ?

Were there similar talks or predictions in Romania ?

I find this important, because if this is the case, maybe Rapid and Dinamo will prefer not to play in UEFA groups stages, and we can get rather nice odds if we bet against them !!!

No talk in Romania about this. Both Rapid and Dinamo very motivated to go as much as they can in UEFA Cup. But Rapid started very poor this new season heaving big problems in scoring goals after Daniel Niculae left for Auxerre. I think that if FK Sarajevo will score a goal in Bucharest, that they will pass Rapid.

From what I have heard both teams are fighting hard to get in UEFA Group phase.

I agree with Betinio, here. All the romanian teams want to qualify further, and IMO Steaua and Dinamo will qualify easily, only on Rapid I have some doubts, but not because they don't want to advance, only because their poor form... :roll:
