Well,at my eyes seems again the story of underestimated irish teams, they just lost 1-0 first leg vs Start but Drogheda isn't doing bad in ireland maybe if they are not as strong as some weeks ago,but Start isn't at the top in Norway even if they are recovering from a bad start (!) of the season.
I think the value here is with the home team and the draw,it'll be hard so we need to wait for line-ups,missings,etc.,but in my opinion I can't see Start as clear favourite because irish teams such as Cork,Derry,Shelbourne, showed that if they are full strenght are very hard to beat and I think they put lots of effort in their playing and never give up.
Start have definitly impoved after they fired Tom "Keiko" Nordli. They have 8 wins in a row. And 4 of the victorys is againt the top 3 at the league 1.Brann (two win), 2.Rosenborg and 3.Lillestrøm so I would defintly say they lock to be in good shape atm. But I doubt they will get it easy against Drogheda, Irish league is one of the most underestimated legues in europe. Away odds is bull as Start dont have to win and defend the lead will be most importent for them here. I expekt physical and tight match, I expect few goal, under most likely. Borgersen (d), Berlin (a) and Hæstad (m) was out against Lillestrøm suterday, but should be back here. 1X and under lock ok here IMO.
Starts (4-3-3): Rune Nilssen - Steinar Pedersen, Atle Roar Håland, Bård Borgersen, Marius Johnsen - Geir Ludvig Fevang, Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim, Kristofer Hæstad - Alex Valencia, David Nielsen, Bala Garba.
Drogheda havent been doing to well of late (got a lucky 3:2 win against waterford on friday is their best latest result). I've a gut feeling that Start, who are on form and have beaten the likes of RBK will win this by more than 1 goal. I hope I'm wrong :)
I can not understand why bookies always understimate the Irish teams. Derry City was overpriced once.. Big odds @5.00's and they did not just win but scored 5 goals.. Now Drogheda gets the same high odds..
When i see a team from Ireland in Uefa or CL qualifing matches, and when i check the odds, i always ask me the same question;
"is there something that i don't know??" and i skip the match. Later, the team from Ireland does his job and i just miss it for less knowledge about Ireland..
I don't know Cork, Derry or Drogheda. Have not watched them more than once, and i don't bet on Irish League.. That's why i have to skip this match as well..
My feelings, Drogheda wins 1-0 and Extra Time... Still is Starts style open for an away goal. Drogheda's strong defense looks also bad in the last games (talking for on paper stuff... i did not watch the games...) . So if Start scores one goal, this match can surely end very very different as well... Still if DROGHEDA scored the first, then the extra time looks logical
Nice predict...
Juan Kaan you are the best;)

Just to joke a bit: when have Irish teams ever done their job?
Apart from Derry - who by the way beat Scottish juggernaut Gretna, not exactly Barcelona or Milan - I cannot remember Irish teams doing anything else but lose severely against third- or fourth-tier European teams.
But maybe I'm wrong...
Drogs won't be able to use one of his most influential players despite his recovery from injury. captain Declan O'Brien misses out. Despite missing almost two months of action, O'Brien is still the Drogs' top scorer but due to an administrative error the club failed to register him to play in the UEFA Cup.
I think i'll go for X.

Göteborg-Derry City
Helsinki-Drogheda
they were not a joke :!:

I'm sorry.
You can remember two times in twenty years that two irish teams won. And against a finnish and a dane team no less.
And this means that irish teams are able to "do their job"?
Ah well, for a moment you had me worried that I forgot a team making a brilliant run in a cup.
(but, wait a moment, passing one turn for Irish teams IS having a good run  )
Irish results have steadily improved and now its expected to go by at least one round. Start however meet Drogheda at the right time as Drogheda have been stumbling lately in the league. They are rock solid in defence though and I'd say unders would be a good bet. I think Start will go through after a 0-0 draw
In the first leg Drogheda played for the 0-0 and restricted Start to very few chances. However they will have to come forward a bit more in this game. My heart says Drogheda will do it but my head says that Start will pick them off on the counter attack.

Excellent prediction by JuanKaan, match finished 1-0 to Drogheda and went to extra time. Drogheda lose penalty shootout 10-11 (!!) The same player (Gartland) missed both Drogheda penalties in the shootout. First time I've ever seen it happening.
