2nd day of the competition and we start early as I'm closing down now, Tahoma will update Saturday's scores on Sunday when he wakes up(and gets his head cleared up  )

Read the rules unless you already know them by heart, post your picks at least one hour before it starts and have fun.
Oh yes, please post some winners as La Coruña, Bayern Munich and Vitesse really hurt me today :(

Good luck :)

Ok here we go...
Mallorca v Valencia ASIAN (0 : 0)---->2 (1.60GB)

I find these odds very tempting as Valencia is a great team that had some unlucky results against Celta and Depor but now its time to win again..( like Barca did last week against an opponent that has only one dangerous Striker-Eto).I cant see Valencia losing but draw may occur as an upset...but i dont think so...

I was trying to forget about Vitesse... :(

I hope today will be better...

Charleroi - Heusden-Zolder 1 1,95@WilliamHill

Important match for home team, who is on a last place in standings and without a single win in all of 10 previous games. They started to play better in last games, but they lost just 1-0 against Anderlecht and 2-1 (conceding goal in dying minutes) against Vesterlo.

Visitors are newcomers into Jupiter league and one of weakest teams there. Their away record is terrible: 0-0-5 - with 0-11 goal difference. If they want to win, Charleroi couldn't find better opponent.

Good luck!

Pick 2 [Football] Turkish Ligi
BURSASPOR v Adanaspor: 1 @ 1.65 [Interwetten]
Relegation dog fight here. But for me Bursaspor are better than their points total of 7 currently suggests.Been involved in quite a few Draws so far, some against the top teams in the league.
Also unbeaten at home so far, which will give them confidence against a team who dont play well on the road, and are struggling to score goals.
Good Luck

Minnesota Vikings - Green Bay Packers 2 2.89 @ Expekt

Division derby will be played tomorrow in the Metrodome when Vikings (6-1) will welcome the biggest dissapointment so far - Packers (3-4).Vikings finally lost last week when another struggling team (Giants) managed to beat them away, and i predict their downtrend is coming.Even after their 6-th win their coach Mike Tice said they only managed to take advantage of a bit easier schedule and that they can hardly win gold.Key of their good results are 2 fabolous offensive players who play brilliantly this year: the best player in NFC in September QB Daunte Culpepper and WR Randy Moss who leads NFL with 791 recieving yards for 8 TD :!: .
Still, i believe Brett Favre and co. will have an answer.Seeing the table you surely realised how important this match for Packers is who can't allow Vikings to beat them again after defeat in season opener on Lambofield. The most important news is that Favre will play in spite of suffering a hairline fracture under the thumbnail of his throwing hand in a 34-24 loss to the Rams 2 weeks ago.Interesting thing is also very bad record Favre has in Minnesota - only 2 wins in 11 matches :!:.Packers just musn't fail on this one and i believe they can get their vengence tonight.

Bursaspor v Adanaspor 0:1/2
Bursaspor -1/2 @1.65 at Interwetten

Bursa is a good team but also the unlcukiest one. Coach Gheorghe Hagi brought a marvelous athmosphere to the team. Good transfers so far. But a poor performance due to bad schedule. Bursa is unbeaten at home but lots of them are Draws. When you see Bursa hasnt relegated, this means they had good points at home. Because they cannot win away games. Almost the worst away team for last 3-4 season Turkish Super League History. The strongest weapon of Bursa is home games. Adana is a lucky team that they could play in Superleague for years..:) They have a MAD coach. But their coach has a habit that he can win the last games of the season. I am sure that Bursa will not be beaten. If they can score in the first half it will be a huge winning.

Good Luck

Hi there again !

Firstly, I must apologise to those who followed my Panathinaikos pick yesterday... It was a pathetic display by the Athenian team and, not surprising, they couldn't even get their customary lucky goal late in the game this time ! Coach Shum may still be there for Tuesday's home game against Stuttgart, but I wouldn't bet on it

My pick for Sunday is again from Greek Div.1 :

Olympiakos v Ionikos (+2.5) ............ 2..........................2.0 at Pinnacle

Nice price, evidently due to the bookie's anticipating a blowout in this game... Recent games (6-0, 5-0) would also suggest that such a pick is risky at best ! However, Olympiakos has a crucial CH.L. game on Wednesday against Galata and, in addition, will miss a couple more regulars (Carembeau, Castillo & Pantos) on top of their long-term absentees. I suggest Olympiakos will have a hard time scoring early in the game and, if they do, they'll only slow down to conserve energy !!! Ionikos, a terribly limited team, will defend with 10 players behind the ball (that's no news anyway...) and might even come close to a major surprise if the giant gets too impatient and careless. Either way, I just cannot see Olympiakos, given their current shortage of striking options, winning with a margin greater than 2 goals !!!

Goog luck to all 8) 8) 8)

CAGLIARI - NAPOLI pick 1 @1.8 at Expekt and William Hill

Cagliari 4 win 1 draw at home, scoring 14 goals, winning against Livorno and Ternana.

Napoli, the draw specialist, 1 win, 3 draw and 1 loss on away matches, scoring only 3 goals.

As our friend Joecambo advised, the coach of Cagliari will be fired if he lost this game. The team will also has extra motivation after the humiliating 2-0 loss of Vicenza. Napoli played better recently, but they can't score much. They will try hard to draw the game. The main pt is, can Cagliari break the defense of Napoli? I think so.

Good Luck!

Fredericia - Skjold home win @ 2.1 (Expekt)

Good home team Fredericia (4-2-0 15-8 ) meets not so good away team Skjold (2-2-2 9-13) who are missing their top scorer due to a suspension.
Fredericia has a full squad except suspended defender Brian Fakkenor. Teams also have very different home/away forms as last 3 at home for Fredericia is 2-1-0 and Skjold is 0-1-2. Let's hope for the best although the stats are never a good way to make a conclusion about a match.

Aug 18, 2002 Fredericia - Skjøld 1 - 0
May 3, 2003 Skjøld - Fredericia 1 - 4

Chievo - Inter OVER 2.5 @1.95 Gamebookers

This two teams played each other 2 times in Verona and Chievo won 1 match (2:1 last season) and 1 match was draw 2:2.Anyway this two teams played eachother 4 times and all matches were OVER 2.5 (2:1,2:2,2:1,2:1).

Last 3 matches Chievo scored only 2 times and 2 times had to get ball from net,so they showed some luck of scoring, but this matches have great inspiration on every player and I`m sure that they will score at least once today. They scored 33 times in 37 matches on their ground since they are playing in Seria A.They are always playing great against Favorites at home so I think that they aren`t in some underdog position here.

On the other hand,Inter had great start of season when they didn`t get ball from net first 5 matches, but then it came derby against Milan and they were trashed 3:1 so that was first matxh where Toldo was defeat. After that match they were away in Brechia and after they were down 2:0,they managed draw (like always in last minutes Vieri scored).Last week they played against Roma scoreless draw, but they had some great chances(so as Roma) to score. This match is just too important for them so they will try to score as soon as possible, but that gives chance to Chievo from counter attack.Zaccheroni likes to play offensive football so they will play with Recoba and Vieri in attack.

One thing is interesting too.Vieri scored in all 3 matches against Chievo so I don`t see reason why don`t he do that thing today too.

Both teams have great goalkeepers (Toldo and Marchegiani)and it is hard to score against them, but because of scoring tradition between this two teams I must take over.

Hi, my pick for today is:

Espanyol - Zaragoza 1 (2,25 William Hill)

Espanyol has won in the midweak against Santander 0:1
and this is surely a bright light in Espanyol future in the League.
They are better team then their current standings shows.
Zaragoza menaged to play 0:0 against the mighty Real Madrid
but this was on their home ground and i think that they will lose
in Barcelona today.

If you ask me you picked the same bet here. This bet is 100% the same as if you bet on home team in 1 X 2 type of bet. My second pick:

Villarreal - Osasuna - 1 @ 2.15 at Centrebet

Villarreal is for me better team with better players although they are lower than Osasuna at the table. Osasuna's luck will sooner or later disappear and they will start losing. They don't belong to top part of table in Spain and they will fall back to the middle soon if you ask me.
Villarreal has 4 draws in 4 matches at home and it is time for first victory of the season at home. Players like Anderson and Riquelme should be enough to garanty that. Osasuna's away form is not bad (1-2-1) but they will be put on the real test here. I doubt that they can stay unbeaten here and this is a real great odd for a home win. I am giving Villarreal something like 60% to win this game.

Good luck!

P.S.: Fafko do you dare taking handicap win again? ;)

My pick of the day is Fulham - Liverpool 2 @ 2.40 betandwin

My opinion is that Liverpool is better team and Fulham can make one more suprise.
And this is good value on Liverpool. Junichi Inamoto is suspended, Jerome Bonnissel is doubtful and Alain Goma is definitely out, with either Andy Melville or Martin Djetou coming in.

Liverpool have a major doubt over Michael Owen, who has a swollen ankle.

Sami Hyypia, Vladimir Smicer and Florent Sinama-Pongolle are carrying injuries while El-Hadji Diouf is suspended.

Fulham (from): van der Sar, Lea****, Knight, Volz, Melville, Djetou, Bonnissel, Malbranque, Inamoto, Clark, Davis, Boa Morte, Legwinski, Pembridge, Saha, Hayles, Boari, Crossley.

Liverpool (from): Dudek, Finnan, Henchoz, Biscan, Hyypia, Riise, Traore, Biscan, Murphy, Kewell, Gerrard, Le Tallec, Diao, Hamann, Heskey, Kirkland, Owen, Sinama-Pongolle, Smicer, Welsh.

Icehockey, Sweden, Elitserien

Brynäs-Södertälje UNDER 5.5 goals ----> 1.70 @expekt

Södertälje have no big injury problems at the moment.
Brynäs got a defender Casselstål badly injured in the last game, he won't play any more this year, but most importantly, they will miss Ove Molin, who is one of their most important offensive players, and he's also one important player in Brynäs strong first line.

Södertäljes bad start will also probably make them a lot more motivated than Brynäs in this game. Brynäs have done much better than expected.

Södertälje is really awful when it comes to attacking, but they defend hard with their whole team (which is probably why they find attacking so darn difficult) and they have excellent goalkeepers, and Lindqvist that will probably be in goal today have played really phenomenal these last two games. He's in good form.

And it's very easy to think that Södertälje should be much weaker than Brynäs, but I don't see that there is much seperating these two teams, even though there are many points seperating them in the standings.
I know Södertälje had a losing streak of nine consecutive losses, but if you look a bit closer to those matches, it's really not that surprising...

Two of those games were away against top team Färjestad. One game was away to top team Frölunda that hardly ever lose at home, the same thing goes for the away game against HV71. Then they lost twice against top team Djurgården, who were in phenomenal form at that time.
And then there were two narrow defeats against Malmö and Modo, but those games were away from home, and then one overtime loss to Timrå.
All in all, at least 6-7 really expected losses, and 2-3 probable losses.

Despite all this, I still think Brynäs are small favourites to win today, they will for sure dominate this game, and Södertälje will defend hard.
The decisive factor will probably Södertäljes goalkeeper, against Brynäs perfomance in power play. I see a tight game here, with very few goals.

Portuguese League:
Uniao Leira - Alverca X2 1,60 Expekt

Both teams have not play well recently. Uniao Leira is in a relegation zone , at 16th place. They won the only one meeting at home ground (against Moreneise). In a last 3 games they gained only one points:
Gil Vicente 0-2
Marítimo 2-2
Beira Mar 4-2

On the other hand we have Alverca. About this team i also can't say good words: they lost 4 from 9 matches. But this is typical "away team" As a visitors Alverca gained 9 from 12 points losing only with better Beira Mar. In fact they had not the giants as opponents. They won against last placed Amadora and Pacos Ferreira. But both games ended with pretty big winning margin (twice 0-3). So they play well against underdog and do appreciate a possibility of each team.

It will be tight game, maybe Uniao will win but odds given by Expekt are definately tempting.

I will take 1,60 for Alverca not to lose.

Good, I found a bet to take after some looking around.
Roma-Ancona winning margin: Roma by 2 goals or more.
1,85@ Gamebookers

Roma are truly very good, they've got an awesome defense with Chivu and Samuel and just Delvecchio missing up front. Lots of offensive power, no Champions League games for distraction and just the league to focus on.
Three home games, all wins and 10-0, overall 14 goals scored in 7 games.
And this is when they've played both Inter and Juventus away from home.
Reggina has drawn 5 out of 7 games, so they're no pushovers but I truly can't see them stand up to Roma at Stadio Olimpico.
Totti, Cassano(what a footballer), Montella and/or Carew will strip them apart and win by two, perhaps not more but that's all I need. :)

My pick is Kaiserslautern-Leverkusen 1X 1.45 GB

Leverkusen, though having played well have been lucky at times this season. Their attack is suspect at best. Clearly their run will come to an end.

Kaiserslautern have been improving since the horrendous start to the season and have played well their last 5 matches. At least a point for Kaiserslautern

Hi everybody,

my pick today is Bologna - Sampdoria, Sampdoria 0 & + 0,5 @ 2 - unibet

Bologna is much weakest than last season and I think they will have a lot of trouble. They have a very poor defense and today they wil suffer Bazzani, the main Sampdoria striker.
Sampdoria is a good team they should have more reached more points but they had a very hard calendar so far. I'm sure they will climb the table very fast.
Their excellent strikers Bazzani and Flachi, inspired by Doni who seems to be back in shape, will surely give a lot of problems to Bologna defenders.
Sampdoria defender Carrozzieri has skills to stop Signori, the only real dangerous Bologna player.
So I'm sure Sampdoria will get at least 1 point today.

I cannot believe it. But last matches of Grasshoper were good and won also the match with Zurich 2-0 last Sunday which is a local derby.

I will go for:

Valladoilid (-0.50) vs Albacete (+0.50) - Away @ 2.10 Pinnacle

Valladolid will be starting this match with Marcos…and this may have some impact to their defense. Valladolid has been performing rather well at home but to me, they have some problem in consistency… in other words, they are more or less unpredictable. Makakula and Chema have been doing fine and should be able to deliver but the main problem will lie in their defense… as to how many goals will they concede.

Albacete’s story begins in about 2 weeks ago. First, they hosted Real Sociedad, of which Albacete has been considered to be a sure loser then… but surprise, surprise, they won 3-1. Then, they visited Betis and again, were expected to lose… sure they lost that match but not after giving an early scare to Betis. Recently, they hosted Villareal and again they were expected to lose… and surprise again, they won 2-0. IMHO, these guys are really improving. It seems like they are getting the hang of playing in Primera now… and if they have really adapted well, they should be able to start improving their away record from this match onwards… especially with the rising form of Parri and Basti

With Albacete’s story told, I dare not stake against them for the time being… and from the inconsistency of Valladolid, I see some realistic chance for Albacete to collect a point here. I will be expecting more improvement from Albacete and will not mind to stake on them with a +0.50 AH… Good Luck!

CORDOBA - ALGECIRAS - pick home win - @2.20 (GB)

Cordoba is without win in championshiop , 0 6 3 , they are very hungry to win this game , at home they have 0 3 1 , 3 draw with good teams (Tenerife,Ciudad Murcia and Getafe and lose against very godo Almeria) , on other side we have Algeciras who have two games in row at home , and not win in that games , moral is probably low , and i think Cordoba win with good motive to take first win and Algeciras bad form lately is enough form me to take this

is 1 = -1/2 ? So why do the bookers offer 1/2 handicap?
-2 1/2 means Over in other words? Because a team has to score 3 to cover the line.
Anyway..

Mallorca v Valencia 1/4:0
Valencia -1/4 @1.825 at Sportingbet

Mallorca underachieving so far at home or away. Valencia has bad results due to bad luck. Hope Valencia will get 3 points. I have huge bet on Valencia. If Valencia plsy as himself, this game will be huge..:)

Mallorca 1-2-1 (5-5)at home
Valencia 3-0-1 (6-2)away

Last 7 games between two teams;
Valencia 4
Draw 3
Mallorca 0

*Valencia is unbeaten to Mallorca for last 7 games.
*Valencia is without a winning for two games. I think it is time to win tonite.

I don't know why they offer 1/2 handicap. I mean I don't know why is odd on the team with +1/2 higher than odd for X2 because it's the same bet!? That is the only time I use this kind of handicap when I bet on X2 and the odd here is higher.

And when there is handicap of -2.5 I don't think that the odd is the same as for over 2.5 goals. It should be much bigger. If it's the same I think it's better to take over than this handicap bet.

Dont have any information about the teams but PSG is in great form and have 5-1-0 in last 6 league games while Lens is a poor away team so far this season with 1-0-4.

So i go for PSG at home here.

P.S does anyone now about a site where i can read team info about French teams, must be in English.

Weity, yes, sometimes there is a small difference in the odds between a team on normal win (1X2) and the Asian Handicap -1/2 (or -0.5). But it's still the same bet. I think the reason why bookies offer teams -1/2 is that they must have two outcomes, not just one team +1/2, but also the opponents with the opposite handicap (-1/2).

So if someone has picked a team on normal 1X2-odds, it's of course not ok to pick the same team with handicap -1/2.
