MLB
MILWAUKEE (SHEETS -110) St. Louis (Reyes)

It’s tough to not go against the Cardinals right now. They have now lost eight straight -11.2 units. Milwaukee is a solid 4-2 their last six. The Cards are 2-6 their last eight. St. Louis is hitting .230 in their last 10 contests. Ben Sheets if off a good outing for Milwaukee and that is good news as they are 11-5 in Sheets starts following a quality start.

The Redbirds have lost five straight Reyes night starts.

Hello ppl !! Let's see now ...

Oakland Athletics @ Seattle Mariners
5 units on A's ML @ 1.81
2 units on A's RL @ 2.31
It's not often that you see a pitcher with a solid ERA of 3.72 (not mentioning an excellent 1.15 WHIP) and a losing record (8-9). Well, Danny Haren is one of them, mainly because of the very poor run support he has had throughout the season. More, Haren got two of those wins in his last two outings, thanks to some brilliant efforts - seven innings against Boston and a complete game vs the Angels, giving up only one run in each of them, striking out a total of 9 and walking only one. I've talked about the A's still being one of the worst teams in baseball regarding batting average (.247), but they do know how to figure Joel Pineiro and Seattle. Oakland are 10-1 vs the Mariners in 2006 (winning the last 10) and has tagged Pineiro for 19 runs (15 earned) on 23 hits during 17 innings of three games this season. The righthander has had some nice performances lately, but opponents still hit .312 off him. Given these considerations, odds look very juicy IMO.

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs
3 units on Pirates ML @ 2.16
1 unit on Pirates RL @ 2.79
Two of the poorest teams continue their series at Wrigley Field. I'm choosing the guests as they look more inform and their starter seems more reliable to me. Young southpaw Zach Duke (7-9, 5.26 ERA) is on the mound for the Pirates. In his last outing, Duke was cruising against the Giants. needing just over 60 pitches and giving up only one run during 6.1 innings, before being stopped by a drizzling rain. He already won twice (one complete game shutout !) vs the Cubs in 2006, yielding just one run and working 16 innings. The Cubs will count on Mark Prior, a pitcher who had success against the Bucs - he has a lifetime record of 6-1, 2.43 ERA. However, the righthander is still very shaky since coming back from his nasty injury - he owns a 0-5 record and a 11.30 home ERA. Quite scary numbers; add the facts that the Pirates just blew Big Z 6-0 yesterday and that the Cubs aren't very succesful against lefties (.237) and you can make a picture why I'm going with the underdogs here.

New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles
6 units on Yankees RL @ 1.81
I gotta warn you - this season I have played six times on "The Moose" and lost four times, so I'm also looking to even some stuff here too. None the less, Mike Mussina (13-3, 3.40 ERA) has a great season and is a model of consistency for the Yankees. A former Oriole for ten years, Mussina is 77-40 with a 3.62 ERA in 154 starts at Camden Yards. Despite some good swinging, Baltimore keep losing most of the games and are now 12 games under the .500 mark. Rookie Adam Loewen (1-3, 6.44 ERA) will start for Baltimore and I foresee some tough innings for him against some red-hot Yankees. The Newyorkers are 9-1 in the last 10 and are involved in a tight battle whether for the AL East lead or a wildcard spot. Injuries of Sheffield or Matsui are quite forgotten, with new guys like Guiel or Bobby Abreu starting to produce. And don't forget August is the favourite month of A-Rod.

Another thought was to take the Reds against the shakey Braves who start with an "emergency" pitcher. The price is very good for them, but that's because Arroyo will pitch on three days rest. This is also the reason I'm staying away for this game.

Good luck ! Will come bak with more ...

Koronka,John [TEX Rangers] Santana,Ervin [LA Angels]

Well Can we see 3 games won in a row or will there be a loss, that will be put to the test as we have 2 very good and telented pitchers on the mound in Anahiem Cali. We have a great race brewing on with La, Tex,and Oak in the middle of it all. Now the Rangers have not won 3 straight games in a single series in LA since June 1999.

Keep in mind the Rangers have won 4 in a row. Rookie John Koronka (7-6, 4.96), has played La once and won that game giving only 2 runs,6 hits, in the 6 innings that he has pitched.

Ervin Santana (11-5, 4.20 ERA), Will try not to lose 3 games in a row for the team and himself. He is there Ace and most wins on his team of pitchers. Santana who is 2-1 with a 7.88 ERA against Texas looks to change that tonite. So with that said I am going with La Angels Win (1.76) Sportingbet, 9/10 Units. This is my money maker today. Good luck.

Sequel ...

Colorado Rockies @ SF Giants,
4 units on Rockies ML @ 1.95
2 units on Rockies RL @ 2.51
Another symmilar situation - a solid pitcher with a losing record, Jason Jennings (7-9, 3.58 ERA). Jennings got a win on his last outing (1 ER over 7 innings against San Diego), but had a streak of six winless games, going 0-3, but with an excellent 2.93 ERA. He was a victim of poor run support (just above two runs per game in that span), like most of the Rockies rotation. However, it looks like the lineup found some momentum nowadays, looking for the third series win. Quite a good timing, as the Rockies will face mainly NL West rivals in the near future. And what a fight we have there, as the last place Giants are 1 1/2 games behind Colorado and just four behind division leaders Padres. Struggling Giants are 1-9 in their last 10 and are trying to avoid a fourth consecutive series lost. They will put Noah Lowry on the mound. The lefthander was pretty incosistent throughout the season - 5-7, 4.50 ERA - and will face a team which prefers lefthanders (.282 Rockies BA vs LHP).

Boston Red Sox @ TB Devil Rays, 1 unit on 2/1 @ 6.40
Fun bet. Fossum has been pretty decent against the Red Sox this season, while Doug Wells had quite a poor outing on his first game after being back from the DL. I foresee a small advantage at the mid for the D'Rays, with guys like Ortiz or Ramirez taking advantage of the brutal Tampa bullpen.

Good night !

This will be the first start for Francisco Rosario. Rosario has pitched in 15 games for Toronto giving up 16 hits and 11 runs in 19 innings pitched. White Sox starting pitcher Javier Vazquez has a 7.79 ERA in his last 17 innings pitched. Vazquez has a 5.46 ERA in ten starts on the road this season. I like this bet alot and it will be my first (10/10) bet in a long time.

Chicago White Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays

Over 10.5 @ 1.98 (Pinnacle) 4 units

CWS: RHP Javier Vazquez (9-6, 5.44 ERA)

TOR: RHP Francisco Rosario (1-1, 5.03 ERA)

I'm not big fan of double digit overs, probably the first time i play one this season, but what the heck. 2 teams with plenty of firepower, hitters park and 2 starters with very questionable numbers. Javy Vazquez has been really brutal lately. 6.66 ERA over his last 5 starts and he has really been strugling. Hasn't lasted more than 6 innings in a long time and in last 3 games he has given up exactly 5 runs each in 5-6 innings. Blue Jays' Francisco Rosario is a question mark. He has been a relief pitcher this season, with very mediocre numbers. He has been pitching in Minors for a month and a half with pretty good success, but it's a different thing to come back to majors and pitch to a team like WSox. Both bullpens have also been shaky lately, especially Toronto's. A good chance this one will sail over the total imo. Sorry for late post, this one starting in 35 minutes.

Thanks Juuso but I do not think we will need luck with this one. Look at last night's game, eight runs in the first five innings and that was with Garland and Halladay pitching. I should also mention I will be watching the game on tv and will update in the livescore thread.

Decided to take one more for the night.

Milwaukee Brewers @ St. Louis Cardinals

Brewers @ 1.962 (Pinnacle) 5 units

MIL: RHP Ben Sheets (2-3, 4.58 ERA)

STL: RHP Anthony Reyes (2-5, 4.56 ERA)

Cards are on a 8 game losing streak and their bats have been cold and their bullpen has been overworked lately. They will snap out of it eventually, but i'll have to take Ben Sheets today. Sheets, the Brewers ACE has been injured for most of the season, but in his last 2 games after coming off the DL he has performed really well, posting a 1.80 ERA. Stamina seems to be good as he has went 15 innings ( 7 & 8 ) in those starts, giving up 3 runs on 13 hits, striking out 15 and walked 1. Sheets is 3-2 with a 3.38 ER in 8 career games at the Busch Stadium. Cards' Anthony Reyes is a talented young pitcher, but hasn't looked very sharp lately. He has a 6.33 ERa over his last 4 starts and has given up quite a lot of hits and walks, while his usual strike out numbers have gone down. Milwaukee was favored more in odds earlier today, but the odds have moved to pick'em now. 1.962 is enough for a medium stake play for me.

One bet for tonite

GOing on Minnesota again @1.70

Minnesota gtg strong , they hoping to catch up. Silva is doing good in last match and his star is better than Hernandez, although Silva is very incosistent but I am counting on Minnesota fire power to push to victory. Kansas city still don hv 1st baseman and sweeney, they r on injurd list.

10/10 stake for me again

Good luck

Great day so far I hope some of you guys went for the game I took big 9 unit play:). Well I am going to take one more game tonite so lets rock and roll!!

Astacio,Pedro [WAS Nationals] Thompson,Mike [SD Padres]

Alfonso Soriano and Felipe Lopez are getting along just well together, Friday they had a big day. Soriano had an RBI double and Lopez went 2-for-4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Soriano has hit .373 (19-for-51) in his 13 games that he has played till this date. His partner Lopez has batted .429 (21-for-49).Pedro Astacio (2-1, 5.23 ERA) will try to improve his record against S.D. which is a descent 9-5. his first loss this year was to the Padres giving up 5 runs and 9 hits in just 3 innings. The Padres send rookie
Mike Thompson (3-3, 4.34). Only thing backing Thompson up is his era at home thats it. He has never faced the NAtionals. So I really think the rookie will get a lesson from the vetran Astacio. I am taking Was win (2.22) odds 4 Units Sportingbet

They have been playing some of the best ball of their season lately, going 9-2 in last 12 games. That's not inconsistent at all. No team can win all their games.
