On paper, Trabzonspor is a better team than last year. They sold legendary striker Fatih Tekke to Zenit. This is a big absence when we think that he scored more than 50 goals at last two season.

But there many key transfers. First one is Herta Berlin's Brazilian Marcelinho. Surely he is above Turkish league standards and may be impressive if he repeats Hertha performance.

Talented striker Umut Bulut has been joined to club for replacement to Fatih. May be his contribution won't be high as Fatih but I beleive he has a potential to achieve great things. He proved this at his previous club Ankaragucu.

Last year's Anorthosis shock had caused many problems last season. Trabzonspor's downtrend began with that match. Now everybody took a lesson from that and each player will be more carefully and concentrated.

Only question is for me the capacity of Brazilian coach Lazaroni. He has a bad career for years and I don't know what to expect from him this season. He is known as a defensive play performer and now he has a proper squad for away games. Yattara and Marcelinho are two pacey wingers who will carry the ball to opposite area.

Despite knowing nothing about Apoel I fancy Trabzonspor because of having better individuals. And of course motivation will be very high after last year's disaster.
