Why? It's Roma. Great team in great form. On the other side - poor Ancona. A surprise? Not this time. Roma in almost strongest squad (only Panucci missing as far as I know) with Totti, Cassano, Emerson, Chivu and Samuel. I think that they can be stopped only by few teams (Milan, Juve, Inter) in Serie A at the moment and Ancona is just gonna be humilated on Olimpico.

Comments: Both teams have played a total 11 matches this season and ALL of them ended up as Over 2.5! Also, in 8 meetings between these 2 sides, 6 ended in Overs too. Both teams look great coming forward and are always subsceptible to opponents fast counter-attacks. Counter-attacks are probably Fulham's trademark and this tie looks to be most certainly an explosive one. Both teams' great scoring form would very likely magnifest themselves here as a leaky defence of both clubs would proof vital. My max bet for Under/Over bets for this match most definitely.

Comments: Lazio comes into this match after an undeserved defeat at home to Parma. Other than this minor glitch, they have performed rather well all round in the league and also in their European adventures. H2h is strongly in favor of Lazio with a record of 4/1/1 with the loss coming way back in 1997. Empoli has traditionally been a very mediocre side and would certainly struggle here when these 2 sides meet. I consider Lazio to be in form and moset likely Stankovic and company would not disappoint. Afterall, Juventus and other fellow rivals are most unlikely to slip up against minor oppositions. Empoli themselves are experiencing some problems in defence. To lose 5-1 to Juve is really no big deal...but to lose to newly promoted Siena 4-0 speaks volume of the class of the club. Clearly, they are going to struggle this season and is certainly 1 of my favorites to get relegated this season! Odds of 2+ is already value here!

Empoli-Lazio Lazio to win by 2 or more goals odds: 2.35

Empoli one of the worst teams in Italy this moment. Losing big last few games.... Lazio in good form..lost to Parma last time around 2-3 but we have to admit Parma is also in superb form. Lazio scoring a lot so i see cler 0-2 or 0-3 here.

My today two picks will be:

Everton-Leeds H @ 1.80
Ajax-Willem II H/H @ 1.70

Leeds has done some bad things in this season. They lost the most crucial players on the start of the season, all except Viduka, but I've read somewhere that he's going to leave the club too. On the other hand there's Everton, solid as always with some really good attacking game. I know that Leeds must get out of this crisis and I know they will, but I don't think that now's the time. They don't have the team play and they will be easylly beaten by Everton.

Ajax is the biggest club in Netherlands. They are always the first contender for the title and they have to win always. They didn't manage to do that last weekend when they lost away at Breda. But they have a great chance to make up for that defeat. And they will.

1. Bundesliga:

Hertha Berlin : HSV - HT/FT 1 @ 3.1

Yes, Hertha is not in form. But after another disappointment in UEFA Cup (0:0 at home) and still without a win in league I believe they will finaly do something more. And it would be the right time to do it now. They face (on paper) strong team who also didn't start season well. Both teams have 4 points - Hertha has 4 draws and two loses and HSV has 1 win, 1 draw and 4 loses. It doesn't look too good for those two teams at the moment but winner in this match would leave the bottom of the table and would get a nice morale injection. And when two teams are equal then home team has an advantage. And I believe that Hertha will win this one with big score - 2:0, 3:0, 3:1 - and with scoring a goal in first half already.

That is my 14th pick and I am saving my last one for the last day of the month - Champions League day!

Grasshopers - Arau 1 @1.60

I guess there is no bigger surprise in european leagues this season then Grasshopers. Champions are just two points above the line and if they don't win this one, it will be almost sure that they will fight for surviving in the Super League this season!!? However they still having much better team then opponents, and with that guy Nunez, who can score anytime, I am sure they can win this one.

Assyriska - Kalmar FF 2 @2.20

Well, two teams in exellent run, but of course quality is on Kalmar's side.
Assyriska don't have much to play for, and for Kalmar three points here can mean almost sure first place. And I must admit, main reason for picking this one were these words from Zoran Manovic, player of Assyriska:
" We are in the good run, but now we are hosts to Kalmar, who are, objectively speaking, stronger then we are. Maybe we can surprise with a draw, but guests are still much closer to victory."

I like the fact that Sampdoria really fights every game and they had some really unlucky results past weekends.Now they play against a weak team and can win...but i dont think that this will happen easily...

Malmo - AIK 1 @ 1,50

After terrific winning streak, Malmo is in chase for championship. Ijeh and Skoog are in good form. AIK is in no mans land - can't go up (to UEFA cup), can't go down (to relegate). Motivation and form should decide this game.

Sampdoria - Brescia 1 @ 1,80

After return in Seria A, hosts still haven't won, but they played good on all three games. They managed to draw away in Reggina and Milan, against Inter, and they lost 1-2 at home to Lazio. Tough opponents for them until now. Brescia draw both home games against Chievo and Reggina and lost 5-0 to Roma. Sampdoria is, in my opinion, more quality team then Brescia and should make today first win in campaign.

Pick 10 [Ice Hockey] Finland
KARPAT v Lukko: 1 @ 1.50
Karpat have made a good start to the season and are unbeaten in their three Home games played so far,including over Championship contenders Assat.
Lukko have only won one of their 3 Away matches,and their best performances Victory wise have been against teams in the bottom half of the League.
So Im of the opinion that Karpat are the better of the two teams on performances so far,and they should extend their unbeaten Home record.

Roda-Groningen 1 @ 1.6

Roda with a very good team this season didn't achieve so good results(1-3-1).One of the reasons is injury of great striker Cristiano who is still out.Nevertheless Roda has excellent team even without him , and desperately needs a win against traditionaly poor away side Groningen who started OK this season.Home team is Highly motivated and with better players is good enough reason to place nice bet on Roda.

Perugia had a tough match in Scotland on Wednesday,while Chievo was prepairing for this Serie A match.
Perugia is definitely more tired than Chievo.
Chievo likes to play open,seeking for many goals,they are not side which defends a lot!
That attacking football can be deadly for tired Perugia's defence.

Greece Premier
Aris-OFI - A - 3.75

Aris is fighting hard despite the huge problems (few players, no money) they have. If i remember well (i am too bored to check it now) it's the first time this season they will have fans by their side, but they come from tiring trip and game (nice result though) for UEFA Cup with Zimbru and they don't have alternatives for their squad. They keep up playing with same players and for sure will be a little bit more tired than the opponents. OFI hasn't bad players, they were unlucky with their program till now, but come from first win, they have excellent coach and they have the capabilities for a nice result. I think (draw and) away win is not something they cannot handle.

One more pick left, probably tomorrow or on Thursday. Take care guys.

Karlovy Vary - Zlin...away win with 2.35

Karlovy Vary are the best aay team so far (3-0-0) but at home have much worse stats (only 1-0-2 when beat just bottom club Budejovice). Zlin is good away with two wins and just one defeat (they won in Plzen and Liberec, the only lose was with leaders Pardubice after good game). I think Zlin can continue these good away performances when K. Vary doesn't look too strong at home this season. Odds are acceptable.

Two top teams that will battle for first place together with Spårvägen, and this game could decide the whole shabang if Väsby win today, but my guess is that there will be a status quo after this game. Both teams would be satisfied with a draw, even if they of course much rather win, but the main thing is not to lose. Väsby also often play very defensive and a draw always seem close at hand, especially now when they play away from home, and have shown rather poor form lately.

Boden-IFK Malmö X @3.55

Two teams at the bottom of Superettan. Boden could have crawled out of there last week, but surprisingly lost to no-hopers Sylvia, further more they got two players suspended for this game, Roberts and O'Brien, and these two have been rather important for the team, especially O'Brien.
I think Boden will be satisfied to just keep the gap to IFK Malmö by playing a draw here.

IFK Malmö show awful form, and if they don't start picking up points soon, they will for sure be relegated. I think they will be more then satisfied with one point in this game, just to break their negative trend, and then try to pick some three pointers at home, in Malmö.

I know some of you will argue with me about my picks today, that I'm just chasing high odds and that these games are not really "the best" picks of the day. But I really can't find any picks that stand out from the rest today, and if I wouldn't have failed to reach 15 picks, then I wouldn't have made any picks at all today. So I rather pick two doubtful picks with high odds, than two doubtful picks with low odds...

I was looking for second today pick and it really wasn't easy. Finally I decided to take:

Sampdoria - Brescia...OVER 2.5 with 1.95

It's just statistical pick. Sampdoria have two OVER (Reggina 2-2, Lazio 1-2) and one UNDER result (Inter 0-0) so far. On the other hand Brescia games are usually really wild (0-5 with Roma and 4-4 with Reggina) when opening game with Chievo was "only" 1-1. That makes five goals average per game... In addition none of these two teams started competition somehow great so both will try to take first win this evening. Guests are without Jadid, Pisano, Colucci, home side will miss only Sakic. I favour Sampdoria a bit and expect more than two goals in the game. Odds like 1.95 are really good IMO.

Well, it seems that today my earlier picks didn't go through at all (maybe they vanished in cyberspace...) so, what the heck, here 're two late Sunday night picks :

First pick : Strassburg v Nantes ................ :arrow: 1 ........................ 2.30 at GB

Second pick : Atl. Madrid v Barcelona .............. :arrow: OVER 2.5 GOALS ..................... 1.71 at GB

As for the French game, starting in about 5 minutes, Nantes looks pretty badly hit by injuries tonight, and in a league as unpredictable as this one, that's good enough reason for me...
Concerning the game in Madrid later on, anything else but an OVER would be a surprise to me ! Atletico is stiil quite unsettled this year, and I remember them getting involved in many high scoring games last season. They have good attackers and they can definately score against Barcelona's notoriously bad defense. Barcelona, on the other hand, has excellent firepower up front and should feel lucky going into such wide-open games ! There is a risk, of course, like in all OVER bets, that the game might close down early on, at 0-0 or after a solitary goal from either side, but the pick still looks very good :wink:
