Norway probably line-up (4-4-2)
Thomas Myhre - Jon Inge Høiland, Anders Rambekk, Brede Hangeland, John Arne Riise - Fredrik Strømstad, Martin Andresen, Tommy Svindal Larsen, Morten Gamst Pedersen - Frode Johnsen, John Carew.
Only Erik Hagen (tired and asked for a break from NT) is out from the team who played a pretty good match against Paraguay. Also Myhre is doubtful, Håkon Opdal is most likely to replace him if he cant play.
Norway actually played a decent match against Paraguay even though they only manage draw (2-2) Norway was definitly the better team in that match and Hareide choosen to trust the same players here. Only Hagen who withdrawn from the squad is likely to be replaced with Rambekk. Rambekk who will earn his 1 cap on the NT was a bit suprisly choosen to the squad after a good start of the season for Lillestrøm in the league.
What can I say aboute the team? Defence is a bit weak defensly IMO, Hagen/Hangeland had trouble with speed against Paraguay, Rambekk on the other hand have a bit more speed than Hagen but also a bit weaker man to man. Wing back Høiland/Riise is pretty good offensive but lack a bit in the defansive work. Im afraid quick/tecknical players can make damage if they get room in the middle. Central mid is very experinced with Andresen/S.Larsen and work well togheter last match. At the wing we got Gamst Pedersen/Strømstad. Gamst got a good year in PL, but still lack to show his best at the NT I think, but still show some great passes now and then (two assist against Paraguay) Strømstad isnt actually a wing, but since we lack typicall RWers I think its a wise pick from Hareide as the little guy is quick and pretty tecknical and work very hard so he win the ball often to set up qounter attack. In attack are the tall guys Carew and Johnsen, obvius a big treath in the air, but lack qualitys to create much for themself espesially Johnsen who only have heading as his realy strong quality at Internatinal level, but he is realy ha head specialist (two goals on head after set pices against Paraguay)
What about the match? I have not much knowledge about the Korean team but I expekt they are overall better tecnhical and a bit quicker in the feet. From the few matches Ive seen they are pretty good orginased too. Meybe a bit Kamikaze in pressure some times. If South Korea manage to held high ball pressure (stop/win the ball from the playmakers Andresen/Larsen) without taking to much risk and find space between Norwegian defence and midfield they may be able to outplay the central defence of Norway. I dont think they will succse much with crosses and set pices. Norway will use their big strengt in the air for what it worth againt a bit shorter players from korea. Set pices will as always be one of the main treath as well with crosses and qounter attack. I doubt Norway will be creative enough nor have the qualty to outplay a orginizsed and balanced defence much.
So I expect to se two diffrent style here, South Korea probably try to keep the possesion, with lot of short quick passes play trough the midfield, Norway also wanna try to play more trough the middle than usually with players like Svinal Larsen, Andresen and Strømstad on the middle, but may get more stuck against aggrisive-qicker players than against Paraguay and play a bit more directly forward. Noway dangerous at set pices and unbalenced defence, while south korean dangerous when they manage to play trough the middle, againt the pretty slow defence they should have an adventake with quick footed players.
I would say its a pretty even match on the paper, with the odds offred I would only considered x2 1,72 (NB) who actually is pretty good paid IMO. I would like to hear more abouth the South Koren team tho..
thank you Bridges, really good job!!
just a question for you did Carew play 90 minutes against Paraguay ?

I think taking asian handicap of +0.25 or +0.5 is a very good bet. Korea shouldn't lose in this friendly match up. The only downside is the latest news of Park Ji Sung injuried during their training.

thanks, so for me Norway has more chance to win without him.. imo he is finished in football wise.. not strong anymore, cant keep the ball, cant press and no team has a luxury to keep a player in team just for 2-3 headers...

Hmmm... explain a bit more please. Carew actually did a very good job vs Paraguay, and is one of the few norwegians with a successful career in an European top club. 2-3 headers?

Hehe ok, you're crystal clear. Maybe you're right about Carew, but your knowledge on the norwegian national team seems kind of limited (no offence) if you think their chances of winning against South-Korea is smaller with Carew. Well, that's my opinion anyway.
Screw: Think you are too friendly-that man obviously doesnt has a clue about what he is talking about cocerning Carew and the norwegian NT!!!
Screw: Think you are too friendly-that man obviously doesnt has a clue about what he is talking about cocerning Carew and the norwegian NT!!!
and do you know what i think? You are too unfriendly!!
lets see what Carew did for 3 years
2004-2005 ?n Be?ikta? 24 games 13 goals
2005-2006 in Lyon 26 games 8 goals
he played 1567 minutes in 26 as total, it makes 60 minutes per game!! (he was in starting line up only for 18 games) he scored 3 or 4 in cl
i did not say a word about Norwagian soccer, my words were clear.. players like Carew just slows the team's play and a team like Korea who runs so much, more technical, plays fast foot to foot Carew will be a disadvantage!
and you know what? you gonna make me cheer for Korea if you go on like this! Screw was a good example how to answer and comminicate with other members, maybe next time you can be in a different manner!!
btw; i wont be suprised if Carew scores today :P

offtopic :P :
so if you are talking that Norway defence will be weakened + pace and overall dynamic of Kereans it should be over 2,5 - odds ~2.2
just my thoughts
can anyone tell me where are they playing?

Scoring goals is not the only job of a striker, i'm also surprised you describe Carew as a player who can't keep the ball, and you can't ask him to be very quick regarding his 1.97 m of heigth, he don't need to be that. I can only guess you weren't impressed by his role in Besiktas, cause generally, I don't know many guys who don't appreciate Carew's skills. If you've seen more games of Lyon this season, you'd surely note he had a very good year despite scoring 'only 8' goals.

zekikum says carew is too slow and he has 2-3 headers.***305;ts more than funny.***305; think carew is the quickest player on earth who is over 1.90(***305; mean his pace ) and playing at forward position.***305;ndeed he isnot very good at heading(of course he has some heading sability becouse of his height)but the more important his teammates can find very easy positions at dead balls.with his partnership at forward his partner can score more head goals than normal.heis also effective sometimes on counterattacks.but he s not in best form.
ps:2-3 years ago he was one of the 5 best forwards of the world for me

***305; think this game is also good for under but ***305; didnt check the odds for it
***305; give %60-65 for under

but in your NT there arent enough creative and fast players like Carew played with in Lyon...
anyway, i regret i didnt save my thoughts to myself... he presses alot in forward line to defenders, runs very very fast, he has a condition of 180 minute etc etc... who cares!
for me no bet but lets hope Carew scores and Norway backers win.. what can i say?
g.l to everybody..
