Coach Kranjcar decided to play this game without Modric, Srna and Kovac who trained seperatly from the team. Simunic has a knee injury - more info to come :wink:

No chance for Austria, they are two classes under Croatia, and the Croatian team will do everything they can to win.
Austrian lack of flair and creativity is always visible during every minute of games against Croatia. And there will be a lot of Croatian supporters. AH (0) on Croatia is a very good bet.
The game will be played tomorrow at 20:15 CET at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
According to Austria Head-Coach Josef Hickersberger 3 debutants will take part in this fixture from the beginning. According to sportlive.at - Marc Janko (Salzburg), Thomas Prager (Heerenveen), Christian Fuchs (Mattersburg), Christoph Leitgeb, Klaus Salmutter und Johannes Ertl (alle drei Sturm Graz) are the new six players, which were called for this friendly. Markus Schopp, Jürgen Macho and Emanuel Pogatetz won't take part in the fixture due to injuries.

Normally I agree with u, but in this case, i also prefer zhe tipp2 , cos I believe 2 of 3 spectators will be croatians.
And I guess they want to win cos they don´t want to have stress with their newspapers and other medias short time before wm. Everybody is expecting win and its known that Austria is pooe and croatia will have homeplay

I guess Croatians who live in Austria know that their team will play with big ambitions cos the most favored bookie for croatians in Austria dropped away win from 2,2 to 1,8 and its the most frequented game.
Normally this bookie don´t lower the odds, just minimalize the money u can play there

Should I write if my opinion didn't really differ from others'?
There is no room for doubts regarding class difference between these two teams, nor motivation of Croatia team. Fans, journalists, experts… they all agree on that.
Even Otto Baric expects two goals margin victory for Croatia in this match, and many will remember his statements about strength of Austrian football, so if even Herr Otto says Austria has minute chances…
I must admit I am unfamiliar with most of Austria players, but their results past few years were nothing but pale. Odds for Croatia at around 2.20 are tempting, yet not unreal, because it is a friendly afterall. Motivation on Croatian side is high, but not to point of risking injuries, especially if the weather goes bad, which is likely to happen some time soon.
An interesting detail regarding Croatia squad is the goalkeeper issue. That is something to be dealt with in next few weeks, for now I will just point out that coach Kranjcar hasn't selected first team goalkeeper, which is often very tricky. Although all three will try to give their best in order to catch their first team place, none of them has been given necessary encouragement, and all three now feel insecure, therefor destabilized. Luckily we have 4 friendlies ahead of us, so this problem still can be solved, if the keepers can be up to the job, which is another story…
Certainly Croatia can overcome Austria, and very probably will, but IMO this match is, as most friendlies too, not worth high stakes, personally I will stake more on Croatia WC matches, where we will have much to say, I can't resist to claim it :).
OK, discussion is fine, but is there anyone serious to put the money on this game, its only a friendly played in Vienna? Only becouse no socer on thusday :? One should forget about class diference. Just forget France and class of players then.
I think most important factor is that season is over for Austria. It's a holiday time for them right now i guess. Imo this is big disadvantage for Austria, as Croatia is preparing for wc finals (+ obvious class diffrence).

Croatia is one of the most improving countries. Their players are mostly playing out of Croatia and in big teams. Their forward line of Klasnic and Prso and their strong midfield seems a lot for an Austria who is rebuilding and getting youngsters. But since the match is in Austria and most important of all a friendly I will take level ball here.

Don't worry Prso has one of the safest place secured in first team.

nobody mentioned here about over 2 goals why?
1.75 over 2 goals (at 2 goals money is back) sounds good because both two teams are offensive playing and high scoring teams not to mention klasnic:)
or you can try something like this
2 or 3 goals 2.00 38 units
4 and over 3.80 20 units
You give 58 and you gain 76 it's about 1.32 odds and with only over 1 goals you will win :)

What confuses me is that Croatian bookie Favorit offers Croatia as a bonus bet with odds of 2.40. Can someone provide some official line-ups - because the first line - up by Muuki is quite different with the second he has posted.

Did u try how much money they accept?? Lot of bookies don´t change odds, but lower lomits down to ridicolous stakes ( 1€ or similar)

This is first from four friendlies for Croatia before WC. Off course result is not most important for Croatia but i'm sure that they will try to win. Croatia played in Wien in april 2000 and beat Austria with 2:1 in friendly game. Also they beat Austria in friendly with 1:0 in march 2001 in Rijeka. Of course we must said that Austria is creating a new team who will play in EURO 2008 which will be played in Austria and this is strong team but i'm not sure that they will have that motivation like Croatia players. Croatian are fighting for place in first team and will push hard. Specialy goalkeepers will have motiv because first keeper Butina is injured and Pletikosa and Didulica are gonna fight for first team place. Also couch Kranjcar will have motiv to show that his choice of players was not wrong like some people from Croatian football clubs said. In march this year Austria lost from Canada 0:2 and today will play with 6 new players.

For me it's clear draw. Maybe Croatia is a strongest team, but remember that's friendly game and everythink could happened.
