OFFICIAL BETTINGADVICE CHAT
Betting chat including a fast livescore, with many people from all over the world watching matches

Hi !

As you are in this forum you are probably a regular visitor of the livescore topics.

Well, besides these topics give a good opportunity to see the newest goals first there is another solution.

As it is already published (http://forum.bettingadvice.com/viewtopic.php?t=27004) in the General Chat forum, there is also an official Bettingadvice chat.

Besides some good discussion time by time, there is mainly space for bringing the newest goals.

With people from all over the world, and many people watching the games, it's normally pretty close or faster than the well known livescore services.

An advantage above these topics is, you don't have to open a new page, as all goals drop through the page.

~~~
If you are interested, it might worth to join the chat for some time.
~~~

If you are well known with Internet Relay Chat (IRC), these are the channel details:

SERVER: irc.ham.de.euirc.net OR irc.ffm.de.euirc.net
CHANNEL: #bettingadvice

If you are not familiar with IRC, here some information how to connect:

Download the program "MIRC" on < this (http://www.mirc.com/get.html) > page.

After filling in some details, like the proposed nickname you can press OK and see an all white screen, with a bar to type messages on the bottom.

Then, type

/server irc.ham.de.euirc.net

OR

/server irc.ffm.de.euirc.net

And press ENTER

If it's all right you will be connected to the server.

When you are connected, type

/join #bettingadvice

And press ENTER

This should be ok to join the bettingadvice chat channel.

If you want to change your nickname, you can type

/nick newnickname

~~~
So far so good, if you have any problems or questions, don't be afraid ask here for some help in < this (http://forum.bettingadvice.com/viewtopic.php?t=27004) > topic.
~~~

Enjoy your stay in bettingadvice chat ! 8)

Hello people!

Let me once again urge you to join the bettingadvice chat channel on IRC!

For those of you who do not wanna download any client in order to be able to join, you can used the webbased chat found here:

http://webchat.euirc.net/webchat/en/

In nickname you ofcourse choose whatever nickname you wish to use.

Password you leave blank, and the Webchat user in name remains the same.

In the 'Channel' menu, you scroll down to 2nd to last, under 'other channels' and find bettingadvice.

Then all you have to do is press 'Go', and you have joined our community in the chat :-)

Here is a quick list of the most common IRC clients out there, ofcourse this is a incomplete list as there are thousands of clients availible, so feel free to add your favorite if its missing out and i will update the list.
Web-Based Access

If you don't want to download an IRC client, or are unable download and/or install one, we have a web-based java applet you may use to connect to BettingAdvice Java Chat (http://www.bettingadvice.com/chat.php). (http://www.vbulletin-chat.com/chat.php)

Windows

As you might expect, Win32 (32bit versions of Windows, Windows 95 onwards and Windows NT based) has the largest array of quality IRC applications.

mIRC (GUI) http://www.mirc.co.uk (Shareware)
X-Chat (GUI, Multi platform) http://www.xchat.org (Free)

Linux/Unix

As IRC originates from UNIX, there are a good few UNIX IRC clients out there.

EPIC (Text only, Multi platform) http://www.epicsol.org (Free)
BitchX (Text only, Multi platform) http://www.bitchx.org (Free)
X-Chat (GUI, Multi platform) http://www.xchat.org (Free)
ircII (Text only, Multi platform) http://www.eterna.com.au/ircii/ (Free)
irssi (Text only, Multi platform) http://www.irssi.org (Free)
Konversation (GUI KDE) http://konversation.kde.org/ (Free)

MacOS

None of us use MacOS, however there are MacOS IRC clients. This means that our own perspective of what is available is a little limited. If you know of any other IRC clients, please let us know what you know! :cool:Those of you using MaxOS X may have some luck with the Linux/Unix software due to the BSD groundings of your OS.

EPIC (Text only, Multi platform) http://www.epicsol.org (Free)
ircle (GUI) http://www.ircle.com (Shareware)
Snak (GUI) http://www.snak.com (Shareware)
X-Chat Aqua (GUI) http://xchataqua.sourceforge.net/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome (Shareware)

This is by no means a complete list of IRC clients, but more of a starting point mentioning the most common clients for the most common platforms.
Most of the multi platform IRC clients will run on all other platforms, but i have not added them to the list, for example irssi will compile and run on OS X, but requires additional programs and libraries to get it to install.

For a even more comprehensive list, please check out the Wiki IRC clients list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IRC_clients) and the Comparison of IRC clients. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_IRC_clients)
