Yesterday I noticed people "stealing" picks from other tipsters at BA. I wrote in the rules (http://www.bettingadvice.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10902) that you are only allowed to link to your own prediction. You can give a link to a prediction at another betting site, but not take someone's prediction from BA. For example, Per wrote a prediction at BA on Sunday and wanted to take it as his pick of the day, but someone else took it before. This is not fair in my opinion and some contestants might just take Kuki's or Lakini's predictions without doing any research themselves. All bets from Monday are valid, but from now on you cannot take another tipster's pick if you don't write personal opinions or other information.

Odds: 1.38
Comments: Forssa v Brage. Last v First. Worst Offence v Best Defence. 2nd Worst Defence v Best Offence. Forssa are knocking on the doors of relegation with 4 points behind the nearest other candidate for the drop, while Brage knocks on the promotional play-offs doors with 4 points lead and a match in hand. Brage knows 4 points is definitely not enough right now and would look to gather some points here as points do not come easier anywhere in the league. Forssa on the other hand would just look to salvage a respectable scoreline of 0-2, 0-3. With 7 defeats in a row for Forssa, I see no other result than an easy win for the league leaders Brage.

Defending Champion will reach the Finals for 3rd consecutive time if they win tonight's game3 at home.
LA lead by 28 points during half time at game2 and managed to rest team starters during the 2nd half.
The Sac Monarchs might have to do it without starting point guard Ticha Penicheiro, who left Sunday's game midway through the first half with a bruised rib.
Penicheiro a key starter, whose 16-point helped the Monarchs' game1 victory, played six minutes in game2 without scoring.
I see a LA victory tonight and I will go with them to beat the 8 points handicap.

Venezuela - Argentina 2 1.50
Argentina comes in this match after disappointing result 2-2 against Chile.
Especially when they were up 2-0 and they managed to draw...They didn't played bad but some moments of lost concentration were enough for the home draw. I think now Crespo's and Aimar's company have the big chance to get easy 3 points vs the weakest team of the group.
Venezuela is not as bad as in the past but their class is minor than Argentina's.
And the important point is this draw against Chile. I think their egoism will make them to do their best and win.

Hmmm... I have mixed feelings about this "stealing" picks. I agree that every pick has to have some explanation. But, instead of providing just a link for Per's or any other "Kuki's" pick, someone could just wrote couple of sentences from that prediction in his own words. I'm not sure if this would be unlegitimate, since reasons for some pick are usually the same (if good form or injuries are reasons for tipsters pick, it is usually the reason for any other person). What I want to say is that it is too hard to draw a clear line between own and "stolen" prediction.
Also, I'm not sure if today's situation happen too often. Today there were just a few football matches and I'm sure Kalmar would be taken as one of first picks even without Per's prediction. If we forbid other members to use tipster prediction before tipsters post their "Pick of a day", other member risk to left without many other good pick, while waiting. And tipster then can choose some other pick, which he find better then one from his own league.
:arrow: I know what you mean, and I agree that it is difficult to limit this kind of behaviour. The last thing we want is that people are insipred by a good tipster (from B.A. or another site) and use their pick but forget to extract the best arguments for that pick. I have noticed that people who surf the net and collect a lot of picks, will be respected by many although they board out the real analysis, as so to speak.
My pick (#2) for today is from Finnish 1st division:
Honka - Korsholm 1 1,38
Honka are biggest underachievers in Ykkonen this year. They were expected to fight for promotion places, but after poor start of the season, they are now just in the middle of the table. Still, their opponent in weakest team in league, "famous" Korsholm. I'm surprised that GB even have odds for this game. This is maybe because Korsholm have improved a bit in recent weeks and unexpectedly grabbed several points. But Honka should be too strong for team who doesn't belong to this league.

Everything has been said,Argentina after poor display against Chile must win this game!
Venezuela should be an easy opponent because of the big class diference beween the teams.
I hope that D'Alessandro (Wolfsburg,two assists) will be as good as he was against Chile but this time defence (although without Walter Samuel,who will be suspended) should have a little job to do!
Underestimation of the opponent is excluded because of the poor start against Chile,so I expect a serious aproach from the beginning,and well motivated Argentinian attack.
Players like Veron (although he plays terrible for national team),Aimar,Kily Gonzales,Saviola,Crespo and others should guarantee an easy away win,which will hopefully for me start in the first half!

Christophe Rochus vs Fernando Vicente @ 1.95
Currently Vicente is on a 9-game losing streak and hasn't won any single match dating back from June 2003! Yet, now he is still favorite over Rochus, so this is rather unacceptable. Besides, the H2H clearly shows a 2-0 advantage for Rochus, both on clay, the same surface they are going to play tomorrow. So, the value is clearly with Rochus as the underdog.

LASK Linz - Austria Lustenau X @ 3.2
Teams are going exactly opposite directions in form. LASK is 2-1-3 6-11 in last 6 matches and A.Lustenau is 4-2-0 13-5. LASK haven't won in last 4 games(3 losses) and I think they are eager to show the real level of the team but this will be too tough place for that. This league is very home win weighted league and LASK played good at home last year so I think draw will be very close. I'm not aware of team news but odds over 3.1 are definitely value.

Motivation will be the deciding factor here. Romania have had an abysmal tournament only beating Luxembourg twice. Denmark will have to win to remain in the battle for 1st place. Danish topscorer Tommy Bechmann won't play but I don't see that will prevent this win. Danish side is flooded by talent at the moment.
England - Portugal U21 pick:away @2,65
Portugal in a must win situation, this match will decide who will win second spot in group. England doesn't look good ( they even lost friendly at home against Croatia). On the other hand Portugal lost two games against Turkey but they looks better than England overall

Chile-Peru X2 @1.83
Chile got a great start with that draw against Argentina, and that's impressive, but I still can't help thinking that it was more Argentina playing rather badly, than Chile playing really well, I did not see the game so I really don't know which, but I do know that Chile had two men sent off, and they will (I asume) be suspended for this game against Peru.
But even if my believes in Chile are questionable, the main reason for me taking this pick (except for the fact that there are very few objects to bet on today :) ), is that Peru seem to be in hysterical form at the moment.
4-1 against a very defensive strong Paraguay (remeber their solid defense in WC2002?) is even more impressive than getting a 2-2 draw in Argentina. And Peru have also beaten Mexico 3-1 recently, even though I'm not sure which players participated in that game.
I see a lot of value in 1.83 on Peru getting at least a draw here and that is my pick of the day.

That was me and i apologise to Per (i did it yesterday too) and to all the users plus Tahoma. I remember that last year that wasn't a problem (or maybe it was but nobody had noticed ;)) when i did a couple of times the same thing.
So, i request from Tahoma to delete my yesterday's winning pick and leave me with two picks only :). If it also can be done, pls give the points from the winning pick to Per who wanted to use Kalmar's win or whoever Tahoma thinks should go, since there were many people out there who wanted this. I think it's better to go to Per, because he had written a preview since Satturday.
In any way, pls delete my winning pick from the table.

I simly cannot see that chilean defenders can stop Pizarro-Mendoza attacking duo. In all other aspects both teams are quite equal, so 1/2 handicap sounds like enough to Peru...

Both teams played Euro 2004 qualify maches just 3 days ago and might be tired after that. Since this just a friendly match, so players/coach don't want to risk any injuries before theirs own league clubs matches start again. Ireland coach Brian Kerr told to the players to play cautious in this friendly match and I think it will be the same for Turkey too. Besides that both teams have met 2 times before and both matches ended in a draw. Maybe this match end in a draw too?

Chicago White Sox (-1,5) to beat Minnesota @2,15
Chicago WS's Buehrle is solid pitcher and his opponent is unknown (for me at least) left- handed Carlos Pulido. Chicago WS hit lefties pretty good- in last 10:.302 AVG and are 7-3 in Buehrle's last 10 starts versus Minnesota. Pulido is one big question mark so Minnesota probably will need good relievers,but White Sox have also better available bullpens with 2,13 ERA in last 3,while Twins- 4,76 in last 3. Adding that CWS is 6-1 in last seven meetings I believe in clear home win here.
This is my 1st pick, hope its not too late for today (fair enough if it is, especially if it loses :wink: ).

Houston @ Milwaukee, Houston to win at 1.70
Redding has an 8-14 record for Houston this season but is also the victim of the lowest run support of all pitchers in the National League. Houston has struggled with runs despite having Jeff Kent in the lineup but are on a mini-surge over the past few games. They are many peoples favourites to take the central title and with the teams involved they really have to start winning consistently to have any sort of a chance. I think they have a great chance of sweeping the Brewers and beating up on them in the same way the Cubs just have. They have nothing to fear in the Brewers pitching staff and their starter Wes Obermuller who shouldn't cause too many problems. Milwaukee were on a tear recently where they had a great run but have already dropped game 1 here to the NL Central chasing Astros and they won't fare too well again today.
