Montpellier full squad? A win here would send them to the championship for 70% already.

Evian is so strong recently. Good morale and they won @ St. Ettiene, Lorient and Valenciennes.

Montpellier in perfect condition, but this race will tire them. They are favourites but i dont know if they can handle the pressure.

Evian will miss captain "Sorlin" suspended
Mensah, Govou, Poulsen and Farina are injured

Govou and Poulsen (ex-Liverpool) are quite important players with huge experience for such big games.

In Montpellier like stressina said Utaka is suspended not a good news he is actually one of the best alongside with Giroud and Belhanda this is the famous magic trio Giroud-Belhanda-Utaka . But the nigerian player can be remplace anyway with Cabella or Aït Fana two young talents.
I think the class between both is too high, as PSG fan i hope Evian to win or at least draw :) but let's be serious Montpellier won't lose the opportunity to win the title against Evian.

Also very low odds for Montpellier...

No i don't like betting on Overs on Montpellier games they are used to win by one , 1-0 is the typical score of Montpellier. Evian have good attack they are used to score but Montpellier have the best defence of Ligue1 alongside with Toulouse with 31 goals conceded and strong defenders like Yanga Mbiwa or Bedimo who will surely move to bigger clubs next season, low odds for Montpellier indeed but this is the game of the season for them the game of the title before they'll go in Rennes on saturday and may lose point(s).

4 games left and this is the easier game for Montpellier, before they'll go in Rennes and Auxerre and facing Lille at home... 3 points is must tonight.

I wanna say lucky Montpellier this penalty missed at 90+5 is just "Justice"

the 2nd Montpellier's goal was clear offside, then at 2-2 Evian scored a clear goal refused for an non-existant "offside" .

there were 3 mins added time but 90+4 penalty for Montpellier...

Seems that refs & french federation wanted to choose their champion but didn't work tonight...

Huge opportunity for PSG to stay in the fight for the title. With a win against St Etienne, PSG will be three points behind Montpellier. In the remaining three rounds, PSG will play away to Valenciennes and Lorient, and will host Rennes.
Montpellier, on the other hand, will play away to Rennes and Auxerre, and will host Lille.
This means that Montpellier has a tougher fixture.
As the goal difference decides in the case of equal points, PSG (PSG have scored 3 goals less than Montpellier) will try to score as many goals in the remaining matches.
Accordingly, after having gained only one point out of six, against Auxerre and Lille, I expect PSG to provide a strong comeback against St Etienne.
PSG WIN 8/10
PSG WIN with at least two-goal difference 7/10
At least 3 goals scored in the match 7/10

i extremely fancy the main page pick on PSG to beat st etienne

thnx mate! Odd now is 1.57 only!

too many punters on home win!

are you bit scared coz of "public bet"?

thnx in asdvance!

Davy
02-05-12, 09:09
Again a so "used" "public bet" theory/term... Public or not, there is no reason why a pick BECAUSE he is public should lose, just public = many people = these 95% or so of punters around the world who are losing to bookies...

Then every week there is some bets where many bettors are involved, some big name teams or so and some are winning, others are losing and no other reason for this.

Than long term betting % and value can help the rest of guys talking about the fact that a bet where many people are just dreamers trying to find explanations and strange things to their losses at bookies.

It is simple 1,57 is almost 64% of chances now offered by the bookies for PSG to win, in the long run, if you think let say out of 100 games, PSG will win > than 64 times out of 100, bet it, if you are right, you will win money, if PSG don't win more than 64 times out of 100 you will lose. Public bet or not means just that people like it, but we know that they like it because PSG is in race for the L1 title and Montpellier got only a draw at home vs Evian yesterday and then now PSG is 6 points behind with a goal difference 3 pts lower and 1 game less (to play tonight)

There is no other place for theories or again being afraid of something else than --> ARE YOU BETTER THAN BOOKIES TO ESTIMATE THE CHANCES OF WINNING OF PSG TONIGHT (being aware that is is not only tonight but a long fight where you will have to better than your bookie to know if there is value or if bookie have a fair or bad price)

first of all, cant be 'public" any odd 1.30 or less, if i bet on real to beat sevilla at home i dont need to know if this one is public or not,

public is always something 1.70 to 2.00

an "opportunity" lets say to make profit

personally i am not "long term' bettor or 'value' hunter, all those belong to mythology, i work to live, to secure my income, i think none of us here is waiting to "earn' money by betting...sounds funny after all, if someone BELEIVES that he will solve the problem with monthly salary by betting...

THEREfore YES there is a public bet rule, i dont care if i am dreamer

what i want is to win tonight, and PSG is ALREADY out of my list!

thnx mate!

Here then it is what you are calling Public bet but there is no definition of that or theory of a public bet always lose or so..

Then the small % of punters around the world, syndicates or so betting good amounts and beating bookies in the long run, living from that are just a mythology for you but you are wrong.

Simply accept that they exists and that you prefer to try to GAMBLE short term to TRY to get money asap, but that is how many people lose more money to bookies than the opposite.

But we won't spend our day talking about betting, value, why X or Y is losing money constantly, why billions of addicted around the world etc...

GL to you whatever you take ;-)

I expect many punters to back PSG tonight thinking, Montpellier dropped 2 points last night, PSG need a win to cut that lead to only 3...

Yes, that's what they need to do, but are they going to get the desired win? I watched Montpellier - Evian last night (no bets placed), and it was evident that Evian was giving 100% even though they didn't necessarily need the points...players are playing for their careers, contracts, and in most cases they will be motivated to do well...

I expect the same approach from Saint Etienne tonight...they are a very solid outfit and can make this difficult for the hosts...PSG might win, but do not expect SE to just roll over and let PSG take the three points...PSG will have to work their socks of to earn it, believe me...

And a few words about PSG...we all know about the major investments in the squad, the high profile names, but I haven't been that impressed by them...they have struggled in many home matches (apart from the 6:1 defeat of Sochaux some 10 days ago), and I have to say they don't inspire me with too much confidence...

As I said, the important thing to be aware of, is that "needing" 3 points badly doesn't necessarily translate to "getting" the three points...we had a similar scenario a few weeks back when Montpellier had lost to Lorient (i believe), and "everyone" expected PSG to collect 3 points at bottom placed Auxerre and close the gap on the leaders...we all know how that ended for PSG!? Yeap, it was a 1:1 draw...

Paris SG - St Etienne
pick: Paris SG (-1)
Ligue 1 ( France)
2012/5/2 12:00

odds: 1.91

Montpelier could have cemented their position yesterday, yet they failed to do that. Not an entirely surprising result. Evian have a very good recent away record but even so Montpelier had a great chance to strenthen their grip on the title. This result will give PSG some hope now. PSG at home looks much better than away, they are making some interesting moves in attack, showing good collective moves. Ancelloti must pile the pressure on Montpellier and I expect a big victory here.

Hello guys. I'd like to discuss match

Lyon - Valenciennes

I foud that Lyon has these injuries:
Michel Bastos MF26/6, Honorato Ederson MF15/2, Dejan Lovren DF18/1, John Mensah DF1/0

Valenciennes injuries and suspended:
Benjamin Angoua DF20/0, Kenny Lala DF2/0, Gregory Pujol FW13/3, Jan-Louis Leca GK0/0 and suspended Carlos Sanchez MF18/0.

Now the question is if Lyon could make it without tose players, especially Bastos. I coulndn't find which of those guys are long term absentees and which are fresh ones. Maybe some french specialists could help.

Some statistics:
Last 4 Lyon Home: 400 9:5

i think you've answered your question .... lyon are in good mood wining the cup although it was a pretty hard match for them against that sensational 3rd league team...

lyon won the last 4 matches on home turf and valenciennes lost the last 4....

regarding the absentees .. lyon played without bastos the last couple of matches so they are used to play without him.... if the injury list is correct i think pujol and sanchez are important players for valenciennes..

the only problem with lyon is going to be motivation they stand almost no chance reaching the 3rd place...

Thanks for the response. I also found this article on english website:

GARDE WON'T RULE OUT THIRD

Lyon return to Ligue 1 action on Wednesday night after their Coupe de France triumph at the weekend, with manager Remi Garde insisting third place in the table is not beyond their grasp.

Lisandro Lopez's 28th-minute goal broke the hearts of third division part-timers US Quevilly to ensure Les Gones picked up some silverware this season.

But now they turn their attentions to Valenciennes in the league, where they lie two places and nine points adrift of Lille, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

With just four more games remaining, Garde is aware the prospects of catching Les Dogues are slim, but he hopes their cup victory will give them renewed belief.

"We wish we could have enjoyed our cup victory," he said. "But we want to finish this season competing for a top-three spot even though it will be very difficult.

"I do not think my players have given up on third. There is a duty to the profession to the end. We do not know what can happen. The Coupe de France frees us and gives us the desire to continue on this positive path."

Lyon will be without Dejan Lovren against Valenciennes, with the Croatian set to miss the next couple of weeks after spraining his foot at the weekend, while Ederson, Michel Bastos and John Mensah remain on the sidelines.

Valenciennes all but secured their Ligue 1 place next season after beating Nice last time out to go seven points clear of the relegation zone.

However, boss Daniel Sanchez does not want to see his side rest on their laurels and wants them to continue giving 100% in an effort to finish as high up the table as possible.

"The win against Nice coupled with results of other teams allows us to approach this match in Lyon with a more relaxed approach," said Sanchez.

"But, we must continue with the mindset that we had to face Montpellier and Nice.

"We need the points as we want to finish as high as possible. It is important for the club over the distribution of TV rights."

PANTALONI FOCUSED ON SOCHAUX

Ajaccio manager Olivier Pantaloni says his side have already put their weekend disappointment at Rennes behind them as they prepare for a vital relegation clash with Sochaux on Wednesday.

The Corsicans fell to a 3-1 defeat after having Samuel Bouhours dismissed for a wild challenge after just 11 minutes.

Pantaloni's men battled valiantly despite their numerical disadvantage, but an injury-time strike confirmed their defeat.

The result leaves them just a point above the drop zone and 19th-placed Sochaux with four games remaining.

But Pantaloni was encouraged by the nature of the performance at Rennes, and says his players immediately turned their attention to Wednesday night's meeting at Stade Francois Coty following that reverse.

Pantaloni told the club website: "We shot ourselves in the foot at the beginning of that game with the red card of Samuel Bouhours.

"From there it was difficult for us to reorganise the team and try and contain Rennes who wanted to take advantage and quickly open the scoring.

"But we fought very hard and it was a shame we conceded the third goal, but I was pleased with how the players performed in difficult conditions and in the dressing room the guys were refocused and ready to address this game against Sochaux in the best possible way."

While Ajaccio will be without Bouhours, Sochaux, who have lost three of their last four games, will be missing Sebastien Roudet and Modibo Maiga after they both saw red in their loss to Bordeaux.

Ajaccio
Suspended: Lippini
Injury: Charvet

Sochaux
Suspended: Roudet, Maïga
Injury: Perquis, Bréchet, Mouyokolo, Gurler, Butin, Bakambu, Nogueira, Corchia

It is massive game that presents one of the most important six- point relegation battles for both sides. F.Diawara and André will return to the Ajaccio***8217;s squad after suspension and despite their not very convincing recent form, it would be counted as a boost. The hosts are tough for beaten, but demonstrate weakness in the visits to the aggressive sides- loss by Rennes and Lille. However, Sochaux are not among them. The Hely***8217;s men have lost their good mood and if we look who has scored the hits in the last rounds, we should be focused on just one name- Maiga. The striker is suspended and with growing injury list (now Nogueira and Corchia will weaken the defence) Ajaccio is slight favorite.

Bordeaux- Rennes

Bordeaux
Suspended: L.Sané
Injury: Sertic, Biyogo-Poko

Rennes
Injury: Mangane, Pajot, Erding, Ab.Sané

Bordeaux were impressive against the confused Sochaux in the last round and as we know them, the Girondins would try to earn as many points they can from the last two matches at home. The first one is against a team in great form that is even better position to attack the European spots. The opponents in the encounter are very efficient up- front, but we have to admit that the loud success of the hosts was helped by the red cards shown to the Sochaux’ players. The absence of few players didn’t disturb Rennes at all to show another aggressive and inspired game in offence. The guests are among the sides that could easily provoke the defence of Bordeaux to make mistakes.

Brest- Toulouse

Brest
Injury: Ferradj, Ayité, Guidileye, Bigné, Brou Apanga

Toulouse
Suspended: Regattin
Injury: Aurier, Didot, Firmin, Vidal, Pelé, Machado

Brest probably haven***8217;t played a match with shorter injury list this season. Despite that they are in the middle of the poorest run with only a single victory in the last eight meetings. The new manager Corentin Martins couldn***8217;t avoid the loss and even worse- his side conceded four goals for the first time since many months. With Zebina played much under his usual level and the offensive line Lesoimier and Alphonse almost incapable to convert the Ben Basat crosses, Brest would have problem today too. Toulouse defended well against the leaders, but didn***8217;t have enough space in attack. Both teams have scoring problems and have reasons to fight for each point, so the ***8220;under***8221; is a good option despite there is no value in it.

Caen- Lorient

Caen
Suspended: Nabab
Injury: Nangis

Lorient
Injury: Sunu, Doukouré, Quercia, Gassama, Lecomte, Audard, L.Koné

The common between these two sides is the fact that they have started to score more easily. It was a bigger problem for the hosts. We don’t believe the threat of relegation to make the teams more careful. Looking at their last games it seems like they mostly try to improve the attacks. The return of Jeremie alongside Kevin Monnet-Paquet would increase the power of the visitors up front. The great performances against rivals as Lyon, Montpellier and Marseille would make the visitors the more confident eleven.

Lyon won the Coupe de France in the final battle against the lower side Quevilly and we expect the spirits in the club to be very high. The youngster Lacazette would continue in the starting line- up on the flank after Bastos and Ederson are still injured. The gap to the third spot is not unbeatable, so we should see the hosts very aggressive. The Sanchez***8217; men were unmerciful against wounded Nice with their opponents couldn***8217;t resist this time to the pressure (they took the points at home with Auxerre in the previous round having almost the same injury problems). But Valenciennes are in pretty stable position in the league standing far enough from the relegation zone and that would make them more timid in that match.

Tip: Lyon -0.75 Odds: 1.92 Stake: 7/10

Marseille- Nancy

Marseille
Suspended: Kaboré, Brandao
Injury: So. Diawara, Mbia, A.Ayew, Bracigliano

Nancy
Misssing: None

The awful run by the Deschamps’ men cut only by the important Coupe de la Ligue success continues. Marseille posses the ball, try to be offensive, but can not convert the scoring opportunities to goals. Remy, who replaced Brandao against Lorient, brought little freshness up- front, but it is too small step towards the improvement of Olimpique. However, the teams are save despite both have been in the very bottom spot in the first part of the season (at least for a while). They have opposite runs, but after so many unhappy games the hosts seem capable to create something. The visitors will play second consecutive encounter with no missing men. Nancy show good football and are the club with the most obvious development this year. We should see free play and goals.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals- Odds: 1.97 Stake: 7/10

Nice- Lille

Nice
Suspended: Anin
Injury: Pejcinovic, Guie Guie, Hellebuyck, Mounier, Pentecôte, Veronese

Lille
Missing: None

Nice definitely will face more convenient opponents till the end of the season. We don***8217;t believe they would drop considering the pretty good scoring difference. The Marsiglia***8217;s men tried to equalize after the break in the visit to Vlencieenes, but the skipper Digart was unlucky to score an own goal. Lille know that almost everything is up to them. Their great form has brought Les Dogues closer to the top. There is a direct fight with Montpellier coming to be played and the Garcia***8217;s men would be highly motivated here. The visitors are too offensive for Nice who will play without Mounier again. The scorer will not play this term anymore.

Tip: Over 2.25 goals Odds: 1.88 Stake: 7/10
Or Lille -0.5 Odds: 1.88 Stake: 7/10

PSG vs St. Etienne / PSG -1 AH 1,9 Pinnacle

Well many see and say logic, PSG must win. I share here a VIP Tip I buy from a site, 20 Euros, saw France Ligue 1 and time, of course, the only game left this one. Away side, St. Etienne arent that bad, but I trust my source once again.

So, GL .. PSG!

PSG must win but Saint Etienne can reach an EL spot so they'll come to Paris for take at least one point.
PSG will attack and Sainté will try to score on counter attacks with fast player like Aubameyang.
Bisevac (Defender) is out, big loss for PSG, Lugano or Camara for replace him...
PSG can score at every moment and I think they'll score at least two goals tonight.
But Sainté is not so bad away, 3 wins in a row, they have no pressure, they can score too.
Over 3 @ 2.12 - 2U (rain is probable tonight).

Lyon - Valenciennes 4:1
Ajaccio - Sochaux 2:1

Some profit is there. Looks like Lyon dominated 2nd half. Ajaccio looks like a very nervous match with lot of emotions. If anyone watched any of those matches I would appreciate any comments of the performance of each team.

Thanks.
