View Full Version : 17/08 Denmark-England
Hey! :D
20:00 / 17-08 Danmark 2.85 X 3.15 England 2.25
Very tight game, but Denmark has a lot of injuries in the back! Helveg, Laursen and Kroldrup is out! So Denmark plays with a new defence line and that´s a big problem against players like Rooney and Owen etc.
England isn´t very interested in this kind of games and Sven Goran Erricsen will properly changes about 6-7 players in the break, so it could be a very boring game! But lets see...
I think England wins this one, but a draw is also very possible! What do you think :?: I dont think Denmark wins, they are just playing to bad and with a new defence line, they will 99% conceed at least one goal!
Nice info about those Danish defensive problems, I was thinking of a bet for England and now I'm a bit more confident about it.
England has a chance to get revenge after the 2-3 loss at home last time.
Let's wait for Englands player situation first, who will travel to Denmark.
Campbell is out as known from Arsenal... So, Chelsea's Terry should start. But important for England is that they will play 2 important games, vs Wales and Ireland. And OWEN will be suspanded vs Wales in the first match... That's why Defoe-Rooney can start vs Denmark to test this 2 together.....
The midfield line-up should be like always with Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard and Joe Cole..
Surely does England look good but as it's a friendly and as both England and Denamrk will play their crucial matches away vs Turkey and Wales+Ireland, and adding on that for ENGLAND, the EPL did just start and PRIMERA did even not start were many of the players play do i see the best bet as the DRAW one...
DRAW @3.15 for medium stakes...

A draw is maybe the best bet here, but I see England as clear favourites. That Danish defense line doesn't as mentioned look impressing, which goes for the midfield also IMO, and Gravesen the most important Danish player, haven't started his season yet which is a disadvantage.
I don't believe those upcoming games has so much reflection here, they aren't on until 2 weeks from now. England gives more than 2.5 in odds which I find of value and I'll maybe take.
Anyone can give the possible starting line-up of Denmark, and give some comments, tks.
Well its not perfect, but it looks like our CD will be Agger and Nielsen from Brondby, who know each other well off course, so perhaps not as bad as it may seem.
Kahlenberg has had an outstanding start at Auxerre.
This is a wild stab at the line up - dont know anything for sure yet:
Sorensen
Bogelund/Priske - Nielsen - Agger - Jensen
Gravesen - Jørgensen/Tomasson/Kahlenberg - Poulsen
Grønkjaer/Jørgensen - Larsen/Tomasson - Kahlenberg/Grønkjaer/Jørgensen
As is obvious, the defensive positions are more or less settled.
I think Denmarks line up will be like this:
Sorensen
Priske-Nielsen-Agger-Jensen (Very weak defence!!!)
Gronkjaer-Gravesen-Poulsen-Jorgensen
Tomasson
Larsen
England has named their starting lineup: Robinson; G Neville, A Cole, Terry, Ferdinand; Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, J Cole; Rooney, Defoe.
Paul Robinson will only play one half of the game and Owen starts on the bench as JuanKaan predicted.
Oddsmoney - since when did we play 4-4-2????
According to the papers, Claus Jensen could start this game.
In that case, its:
Sorensen
Priske/Bogelund, Agger, Nielsen, Niclas Jensen
Poulsen - Claus Jensen - Gravesen
Grønkjaer/Jørgensen - Tomasson - Grønkjaer/Jørgensen/Kahlenberg

With England friendlies I always find value in them leading at h/t and drawing at ft. 16/1 is worth a go. Who knows what Sven might do in the second half. Strikers on the wing, midfielders in goal.....
I think the best option here is booth team to score for 1,70 ...last time it was 5 goal , score 2-3

Wayne Rooney and Jermaine Defoe will start up front for England this evening (Just confirmed on Sky Sports), however I felt this was inevitable as Michael Owen is suspended for the next World Cup game against Wales, thus Sven Goran Erikson was always going to try and gel Rooney and Defoe together in this game in anticipation for the upcoming Welsh game!
One thing I think is certain in this match is that it has GOALS and plenty of them!!! Rooney started in his last match for Man Utd and scored one and set the other up and was excellent!!! Defoe who has a point to prove in keeping the jersey for the next game! also played excellent for Tottenham also scoring one... The press here in UK have been rather unkind to Erikson lately - questioning his motives in switching so many players in these friendlies, I think Sven now knows his best team and will use his best players to start this game (that are available that is!)
England need to start stamping their pedigree and class in games like this and let the World see that England will be one of the Favourites for next years World Cup - all games now are not meaningless but a stepping stone for this Potentially Great team towards Germany 2006...
Wayne Rooney to score the first goal at 5.50 with Paddypower is enough to get my taste buds watering and would recommend a saver on Jermaine Defoe also to score first at 7.50 with Paddypower!
Good Luck Everyone!
anybody watching denmark - italy...i want to bet live on X..what do you think..its 55 min now.

I really thought Erikson was gonna maybe change 1 or 2 players at half-time! NOT 5 like he has done!!! he has such disdain for these friendlies and wants to try out as many players as possible which really annoys me, as the team doesn't know if it is coming or going!!!
Ashley Cole played crap!!! he wouldn't go in for any challenges - I guess Wenger is to blame for that as he doesn't want him getting injured!!!!
This is too bad to be true??? "What the hell are you doing Sven"?
dont put too much into that result. Club matches is more important of course. I was surprised that Sven only made 5 changes at ht . I thought he was going to make 7
