View Full Version : Gamebookers "maph" style
Last night Gamebookers published a mistaken line for the total runs on the Baseball game between AK Athletics and MIN Twins.
The line that was published for over 8 runs was 21.
Though my fav for this game was an under, I decided to take advantage of this "offer" and bet a small stake (30 euros) on the over, thinking that at the worst scenario GB will void this bet.
And so it was, 30 minutes before the game was started GB emailed me, announcing all bets on this game are canceled (no reason for the cancellation was given).
At this point, my account was credited back with 30Euros.
Here comes the tricky part.... at 7:30 Gamebookers sent another email, telling that all bets on this game were resettled.
Fair you'll say, isn't it? Well, no if the game was already OVER and the result was known (2:1, under off course).
Gamebookers placed a bet on a game that already ended (and lost…) with my money without getting permission from me!!
They have just put themselves in a Win/Win situation:
If the bet had won – they just call it a void bet due to a mistaken line.
If the bet had lost – they collect the money.
I tried to email them few times about this – I've got the routine answer – we're sorry you feel this way but we will keep your money…
I must say that I am a long time bettor at GB – they are not the best around, but they did fine till now.
For this lousy 30 euros – I'll stop betting with them.
Bookies are using stupid logic. They think: aha this bastard tried to take advantage from our mistake so we will get a revenge now... but they are forgetting the most important thing: people are only trying to use their MISTAKES, which are product of LOUSINESS from their oddsetters. So, someone who bets at GB has all right to place a bet on a PUBLISHED match but they (bookie, in this case gb) have no right of playing dirty games in revenge!
:!: :!:
But, they know that they can do whatever they wont, cause there is no authority over them (yet)....
If that's how's happend, then I fully agree with you. But I guess u can have some screenshots from your account showing the canceled bet and the rest of stuff u told us so we see this is not a wind up.
I have no screenshot since i had no reason to believe GB will play this way.
But, i have the emails they sent me (canvelation and resettled ) with time stamps and bet IDs.

I was about to open the same topic!!
I have never felt so helpless before (in terms of safe money at a bookie).
I hope they (Gamebookers) will consider it again because they seem to be a respectable and reliable bookie
It's just unbelievable, They had a mistake - so they canceled the bet. after my canceled bet "lost" they took my money back :!: and resetelled the cancelation :!: If the canceled bet was a winner they would never resetled the bet.
Very bad joke, Gamebookers
It soundes so f***ing unfair comeon................ 8O 8O
Here is what they wrote me after I asked them if it was a mistake:
" Thank you for your feedback. We truly apologize for the inconvenience
encountered by this matter and we do understand your point on this matter."
so they understand they are wrong.
" However, please note that because of the error in question, you got an email informing you that the bet was cancelled. "
OK, lets say I understand why you canceled it in the first place....
" However, after a further
investigation by our bookies, "
They mean after the the bet "lost" (if they wouldn't cancel it )
" the event was restore and settled accordingly. "
They mean we took your money back
"Once again, we apologize and we open that you will be able to understand us on this matter. "
How can I?

I didn't know that baseball was so popular in Israel :)
I must say I'm shocked from this story. It's not the first time that GB tries to change its own rules after the game had finished (remember Boca - Chivas?)
I thought about opening an account there, but now there is no chance I'll do it. Seems that Gamebookers is still far from the level of the good and trustable bookies.

I
Hoo my "purple" friend, i realy don't know how popular baseball is in Israel, but be sure it's a nice sport to watch (try ESPN late night) and often an easy way to make some $$
A/W as for this topic, i'm glade i've succeeded with keepping at least one victim away from GB arms
Wow!
This is really unfair way of running a bookie - they must have some place where customers can complain? if not, i want to start a bookie, and put wrong odds, and then cancel / resettle them in order to make a win / win situation for me.
A copy of an email I sent to GB.
Any of you guys who feel the same way, can show them that we have the power to change things by doing the same.
Following our last day emails exchange, I'd like to ask you to delete any financial information belong to my account stored on your computers and close down my account.
I hope I am just the first one to do so and will do my best to ensure many more will follow.
You can read here:

Maybe it will help to understand how the community feels about the way your company was acting.
I will do the same but I still give them a chance to reconsider it.
I sent them another email about this scansdal, waiting to see their answer.
If they will tell me again they apologize and understand me so I will close my account and never use them again....

I would just bring my experience of GB.
I have stopped to be with them but not for this reason.
They do a lot of mistake, in a lot of sport.
But the most crucial is their live betting.
I was a fan of their live betting cause they have done heavy mistakes.
I remember one...
It was during the World Championship of lawn hockey.
During a game (Netherland-Pakistan, i am not sure), it remained 20 minutes and one of the team scored two goals, so the score was 2-0.
GB purpose at this time for the draw a odd at 77 !
The right price was certainly 7.7
A have taken this odds with a small stake (2 units). The game finished at 2-2.
So, i have won 154 units !
Never GB have cancelled my bet, they paid the price and quickly i have asked a withdraw. I have got my money without problem.
I can say they cancelled most of their mistake but not all of those. I suppose it depence of the number of punters in case.
Really disgraceful again from GB  I thought they may have learned after they tried to pull a fast one over the Boca-Chivas game like Holonia says. It seems they just continue to treat the customer with no respect. GL & full support to all with this problem
Man this is disgusting behaviour from a bookie who is recommended by so many sites across the internet. They are quite simply cheats!
I will NEVER bet with this company again as I simply can not trust them with my money. I would suggest others do the same and maybe then they may start to change there attitude towards their customers.
Hello everyone!!
WE HAVE WON :!: :!:
Gamebookers canceled the bet and gave back the money
Thanks for every support and comments in this thread,
I hope this case won't happen again and that Gamebookers will stop playing those silly revenage games.
:D :D
I've just recieved an email from GB telling "all bet on this event were canceled".
Meaning we got back our money.
Thank you all for your support guys.
It's just proove that WE got the power to make bookies reconsider their one sided decisions.
All in all, this decision made by GB came a little too late as i see it.
I've lost my faith on them and have no intention to use their services in the future.
Once again thank you all for your support! :)
Macot, got your advise, post edited.
I think, it is fair enough, but there must be borders, bookies too have their rules, when they are wrong like in this case, we need to comment on it and try to make it better, but we shouldt start to blackmail them with this forums strenght.
But, it is a nice feeling we are succesful and they still have pride and honesty.
GL!
:P
Dear......
Can somebady explain to me what happen with your stake when the game ends void?
Today I was bet on Anderleht -1 and the final result is 2:1 so the bet woid, but Gamebookers dont return me all my staking money! Whay?
Ihaven't find enithing in his rule's about this mater.
Thanks
They charge 5% in case void bets. This is another reason to stay away from this poor bookie.

This is not a void bet but a draw, there is no such thing void bet on GB hdcp (they offer 1 X 2 on soccer hdcp, in this cas X is Anderleht to win by 1 goal exactly) so your bet is a lost one :(

As far as i know that's not correct, GB refund full stake in case of a void bet.
It depends if it was an asian or a european (with draw) handicap.
frcek if you can tell us the odds of your bet we can say if it was asian and you have to get your money back.
If it was between 1.90-2.00 it was an asian, if it was above 2.10-2.20 it was a european one.
this is truly unbelievable and sad, but still none should ever try to cheat on the bookie ;)
i've seen some people who succeded, but these cases are very rare. what generaly happens is that the bookie sees his mistakes and voids those bets. but sometimes the bookie prefers to 'burn' the cheater, and that's exactly how it happened now, not very ethical, but still can't blaim them :)

Froger you can defense this ****, it is your choice. But the hell don't mislead people with your "knowledge".
Taken from gb site
Should the game draw after the handicap is added, all bets are cancelled and stakes refunded (fee of 5% is deducted from the refund amount).
Froger you can defense this sh*t, it is your choice. But the hell don't mislead people with your "knowledge".
If you carefuly read this thread you would learn that i am the last one to support GB way, but when arrogant people like you spreads partial information just to support their case against a bookie - this pissed me off :!:
Change your attitude man, respect other pepole even when you think\know they are wrong.
Now, go to GB terms& conditions, under article 7.6 you will find the following:
7.6. If an event is cancelled and deemed void, the respective selection is considered with decimal odds of one (1.00). In the event of an individual bet, the amount of the bet is refunded. In the case of multiple bets in which events cancelled appear together with other valid events with a winning forecast, the multiple bet is considered won but the combo odd is adjusted accordingly.
So i believe we are talking on a differen events, in general void bet's stakes are refund
GB should not be allowed to cancel bets the coward way GB did.
That is a sign that anyone betting with them should close their account and run away from such a lousy politics bookie.
It wasz their mistake, they should pay for their mistakes.
If i bet wrongly on Ascoli on away win with Juventus, will they refund my bet when Juventus beats the hell out of Ascoli.
Surely no!
So GB should pay for their mistakes! Otherwise GB are just some organized scammers!
