DRAGO, Tony (Malta) vs JUNHUI, Ding (China)

First rounds are always to keep your eye open, and check their forms...
But DING is someone i don't need to watch..

This guy is my hero... And i don't think he will make me sad today

Will lay on him in the first round...

DING @1.57 @centrebet for 8/10 Stakes is my choice..

hi juankaan... Ding Junhui is only now 17 years... think you he has enough experience or see you it through "fanglasses" :?:

i don't know how old Tony Drago is, but when he is older, he has maybe more experience!

for Ding speaks that he won 3 matches last month

Mistro

Yes

But Ding has game. He is getting better by the day. One of biggest talents around. Drago aint nothing. He was something..nowdays he is just going from tournament to tournamen..he can only do something at home at Malta open.

I also belive Ding wins. So far he has shown a lot.

Hehe, peraps Ding is Juankaans hero, but Tony Drago from Malta is mine for sure!
Well, Drago is a player you cant rely, when betting, he can play brilliantly at times, but also make awful dissplays, thats all due to his quick play, the fastest on circuit. He makes a lot of mistakes, so dont bet on his matches in early stages of tournaments.
Ding is in a streak of 5 consecutive wins in qualifications, he looks awesome, he is young, but I think, betting on him at over 2,00 may be worth trying!

Didnt you read, what I was writing, it is typical Drago, sometimes, he plays awful, he is quick, he can underestimate his oponenet and lose quickly, when it was 0:3 I wanted to bet on 0:5 badly, cause it was 100% on that stage... typical him.
When he is on his best (and it is like Juankaan sais, when European Open is played on Malta, or other tournament there) he is unbeliavable, I saw him making break 130, where he stroke last 4-5 balls onehanded in few seconds (almost runing around the table). Those of you, who play billiards will know, how unbeliavably tough it is!

John Parrott v Jamie Burnett

Let's go on.. I played 3/10 stakes on PARROTT, centrebet odds @1.90, other bookies @1.83

So i guess odds @even for PARROTT can be taken for small stakes...

I SURELY DID BET ON HIM; but whether i'll ADVICE to bet on him, will i write later...

Macot
09-11-04, 08:18
Good morning!

Well, my wide selection at the moment looks like this:

Carter @1,60 to beat McManus is the best bet for me, Carter is playing very well, yesterday he had several high breaks around 70 to beat Belgian Haneveer. He made only few mistakes and should beat McManus, a player, who dint show much recent seasons...

Maguire @2,10 to beat Stevens. Maguire was in terrific form on Grand Prix in Preston, he managed to qualify to quarters, where he lost to the finalist McCulloch. I respect that, Matthew Stevens is not a player, that should be a favourite here..

White @1,90 at places to beat Junhui... Jimmy will stop young Chinese sensation, there is not only quality involved, but also expirience and I expect Junhui to break... Mistro told me, he wasnt that convincing althought beating Drago 5:0...

Hicks @2,20 to beat Fu. Hicks is 51st player and improved last season. He made solid impression on World Championships beating Hann (they had post-match fight in the locker room.. )10:4 and losing to OSullivan after a great fight 11:13... In the first round he disposed Dominic Dale 5:0! Fu is 16th player of the world, always solid but his success is limited now (after being pronounced player of the year in 1999) and likes to lose early occasionally...

Pinches @1,83 to beat Nigel Bond

King @2,65 to beat Lee as a value bet.

GL!
Opinions?

Yes right, but how can we be satisfied by his performance when he plays vs a player that just stands up for one try and sits again down...

After 2-0 did Ding know that he had the right to make too many mistakes, or give Drago chances... Drago would miss, and that was sure.....

I still liked Ding's concantration and i guess that's something coming from his nationality....

Surely Jimmy White is some great player, But i'm also sure Jimmy is very excited now to face a 17 year old...

But on Ding's side, do i think Ding is not even thinking about the match.. he will come, play, and go, WIN OR LOSE, i don't care, but he will be there very concantrated for some hours. Do his routine job, and leave the place.. Snooker is like a MISSION for him. DO IT !!! and go on..

Is that important for a snooker play? I guess yes...

I'm not much in the snooker rules.. I played handball for years, but still could not understand why the referee sent me out for 2 minutes, and why he gave the opponent a 7metre shot.. This took me a really long time to understand... Rules are always far away from me, but i like snooker and try to watch the news.. And i see the talent in Ding... Like everyone that played billiard once can easily understand...

Surely; I don't advice to bet on DING but i think his biggest advantage is to be on the side to face O'SULLIVAN before the final.... Just joking for sure, But what can i do??? Play against DING, is something like betting against the T'WOLVES...

No thanks...

Between, I love your HICKS call... He is on fire.... Would choose a 8 or more FRAMES bet but could find anywhere... Still a 3-4 stake bet on him today to win

Hi. Quote of the day for me is 1,57 for Dott to beat Holt. Dott was playing very well in the last events, lost twice to winner of whole tournament O´Sullivan, once to King and once to Ebdon (both were runner-ups in tournament, where they beat Dott). On the other side, Holt played very poor in those events, lost allways in his 1st performance. Two days ago he won his 1st match since qualifying to Players Championships, when he beat very poor Harold. I think, the quote 1,57 must be betted and I give 8/10 for Dott´s win.

hi

Macot
10-11-04, 21:30
O sullivan underestimated Parrott a bit, but he still won quite easily, he is strong.
Lee is a player with very tender touch, he is able to win agaisnt OSullivan on a day, there is no doubt about it... still, he has oscilations in his game and to beat OSullivan he would need to stay 100% concentrated the whole match long...
Odds are 4,00 and Over, so there is a value, in best of 9 (I think at this stage it is still best of nine) upsets are easier. So, if you wanna bet against OSullivan do it in early stages, as with more frames played he is more untouchable.
People are talking about him winning record 6 out of 8 grand prix events in this season (some are even talking of all 8) but snooker is a very tight sport and I dont believe, it is possible.

Winning a British Open or not? Odds 2,80 against him look tempting, too, a lot of good players still in contention, but I dont know... if you decide to go against OSullivan, take those @4,00 or more and bet on Lee...

Hehe, Lees play is one of finest on circuit, he is fat but he is very tender and he has a great feeling. But mentally he is not so strong, and thats my fear.

Yes a top 10 player that has been sucking balls for some time.

He was luck to beat King. Ok Kings is his own sort of duber..but Lee didn`t outplay him.

Belive me..i think he stands no chanc eagaist Ronnie...i mean Ronnie said he had a bad day..yes a terriible day and u still beat Parrot...

First of all, without any comment and surely without any advice,

Stephen Maguire v Ding Junhui; DING @2.10 for 5/10 STAKES

This is my MUST BET, on which i don't care for losing... Maguire is in superb form.. He could never be better. And to be honest, his also being young is an advantage on him, at least won't he face a player that is at the age of his son....

So, no concantration problems for Maguire... Maybe just one little problem.. But he overcame it for sure after the first frame of this tournament...

He won the European Open in Malta... And will play again next months there... As holder in a ranking tournament is something different. And i'll bet AGAINST MAGUIRE there for sure, but TODAY is my bet just based the fact that i want to see DING JUNHUI as #2 in world ranking as soon as possible.. And i trust him...

This one is MY BET !!! I don't advice just share...

juankaan
11-11-04, 08:18
i am thinking of laying him (2.8) on winning the toornament 10/10. i would like to here your opinions
My opinion,

This would be really difficult pick.. And the last one i would ever bet on for outright here..

O'Sullivan.. Who liked him??
i mean Ronnie said he had a bad day..yes a terriible day and u still beat Parrot...
I could not listen to that.. But Ronnie to know had a bad day, does not mean he will be better later..

Now LEE.. (hard match. and LEE +2.5 @1.90 @bet365 is not bad !!!)

After LEE; the winner of Ken Doherty v Andy Hicks, both are in form, but Doherty has more... So O'Sullivan wills till haev to face him at least...

After (maybe) DOHERTY will he have to face, one of these 3, DING, Mark WILLIAMS or Maguire (not hamilton !!! that's quite sure).... I want DING, but to be honest DING will have 2 very hard rounds.. First one today.. REALLY HARD LOOKING.. Than vs WILLIAMS... Let's say WILLIAMS wins... Than will Ronnie have to face Mark Williams...

After (maybe) Williams will he face in final the one's from the otehr side, don't have time to write about them now.. But i guess that part has more PROFIT !!! Esp, this rounds MURPHY... he was brilliant yesterday vs Paul Hunter... And HOLT did win over DOTT... I don't think Holt can trouble in this form Murphy...

Anyway from the other side will also come someone.. My opinion is on Stephen Hendry....

And in a final even VS Stephen Hendry will it be too hard for Ronnie.. And i would surely bet on Hendry if we see such a final....

Ronnie O'Sullivan @2.80 to win outright... I don't see any value... So many good snookers, and so many in form.... But Ronnie is not... I guess Stephen Hendry will win outrgith or any surprise will happen (Why not Ding)

and after so many names lost looks like Ronnie gona win another one..simply the best. I guess this words were esp. for Paul Hunter... I also would like to see a HUNTER vs SULLIVAN game again...... But...

GL !!!

Well, interesting matches today.

Pinches to beat Higgins... @2,85
Higgins is a player with problems, he was No1 5 years ago, but since then, he is falling down the ranks and he admitted, he has psychological problems because of lacking confidence... in Grand Prix last month he lost in the first round to Walden (3:5)...
Pinches on the other hand is an average player, 30th on the world, but improving every season. So far, he had a nice tournament here, winning first two rounds.
4/10 stake.

Williams to beat Hamilton. @1,40

Worlds No 2 is stiill too strong for Hamilton I think and odds are correctly set here, I dont expect and upset here...

Other advicable picks:
Murphy 7/10
Hicks 5/10
Carter 3/10

I might take Lee against OSullivan, I know everyone is agaisnt it, but I just need to follow my gut feelings here... if Lee makes a flying start (lets say 2:0) and O Sullivan is known as a slow starter, being very confident, then I expect a long thriller and Lee cold clinch it at the end!

what do you think about lee to win 1 frame from o'sullivan @ 2.5?

Dont you mean Lee +1? ... if not and the bet is just Lee to win 1 frame then jump on it!!! ... Stephen Lee is now an experianced player and is capable to taking Ronnie all the way today IMO ... although I fully expect to see Ronnie O'Sullivan progress.

I also like Stephen Maguire just now ... he is one of my favourite players ... and I expect him to beat Ding Dong today :P ... sure Ding has a reputation already ... but for me he is still badly lacking experiance at this level and Maguire should have to much for him.

Mark Williams SHOULD take care of Hamilton ... but ... we all know what Williams has been playing like in the last 6 months! ... rubbish at times ... so I wouldnt go to big here.

Docherty has been like Williams ... with a big slump in form ... and todays match with Hicks should be close. If Docherty really wants it today then he should win ... but I fancy Andy Hicks to nick through as Docherty's recent poor form comes back to haunt him again.

GL folks.

Well done to Maguire ... Junhai is for sure a good prospect, but he still has some way to go before winning any major tourneys yet ... maybe in a year or two.

That's what i call good day !!! 12 STAKES LOST !!!

3 Stake bet still pending (pinches @3.0 )

That will bring back 6 stakes profit. Means still LOSE... I can't trust Murphy.. Don't know why, after watching yesterday was i sure i would bet 8/10 Stakes on him vs HOLT.. But now..... After such a losing day.. I skip it..

Just went on PINCHES+MURPHY @5.00 for 3/10 stakes..

So if pinches loses will i lose 18 Stakes in total TODAY !!!

If he win + Murphy wins, than 6 Stakes Profit...

GL !!!

Well, it was a tough day tonight, I think, Andysaint had the best nose of all tonight, I have to say, I didnt expect Hamilton beat Williams, but there you are, a lot of surprises.
Hicks and Murphy were nice calls.
About Carter, hee looked very tough until 6th frame, which he started well, but lost eventually and instead of 3:3 found himself 2:4 behind and he never recovered in the process..
OSullivan?
Let him play on another planet, I was hoping far a good start for Lee and this monster started with 120tish break in the first frame... a nice boost for Lee...
Well, tomorrow we have quarters on program, three betting mathces ans OSullivan to proceed...

These are odds from B&W, opinions?
3:00 PM
Ronnie O'Sullivan (ENG) 1.20

Andy Hicks (ENG) 4.00

3:00 PM
Stephen Maguire (SCO) 1.55

Anthony Hamilton (ENG) 2.30

8:00 PM
Stephen Hendry (SCO) 1.50

John Higgins (SCO) 2.40

It really looks like OSullivan-Maguire-Hendry tomorrow, combined odds at about 3,00

Now, Hendry really reminded me of his best days, he played a very tough oponent tonight, still he was never in real danger!
Maguire is constantly improving, I dont know, how the match Hamilton v Williams looked , but I guess, we need to give the edge to the Scot...
:P
Opinions?
Mistro?
Andy?
Juankaan?
Others?

Maguire is playing well, as Aleksander wrote yesterday and made a fantastic job - he is really hard to stop, Hamilton made one surprise and it's enough I think :)

So O'Sullivan+Maguire for me, but I'll wait for experts' opinions of course! :)

Macot
12-11-04, 03:34
Yes. I expect Hendry (7/10) Maguire (7/10) Murphy (6/10) and O Monsterman (11/10) to win today, but I may be wrong...

O'Sullivan (-2) v Hicks @2.00 in betandwin

Hmmm, looks interesting, will Hicks be able to take 3 frames in this game? I don't think so ;)

juankaan
12-11-04, 11:01
I leave your Monsterman alone.. I'm a big fan of him and he was great yesterday and and and... But, i still won't take him... Surely also not a bet on the otherside @5.00... I'd take Oberhausen not Hicks with same odds...

So i leave this match alone... And wish Ronnie and surely Macot good luck...

----------

My bets are;

Stephen Maguire @1.60 for 10/10 (i don't like him !!! "Ding" That's not FOR him, it's against HAMILTON...)

EDIT !!!
Will send my evening bets later... After the first results will i decide on the stakes

O`Sullivan-Hicks

Let`s be honest...Lee didn`t stand a chance. This that drops into the eye is that he didn`t do anything wrong..Ronnie just didn`t let him get near the table. Why not do it again today...that -2 doesen`t look bad at all.
So far he didn`t play like he is known to. No speed..no rush..no risk. Rather calm and thats what makes him deadly. Couse Ronnie was always a player who would clean quickly..but then if he got into a little bit of situation he got frustrated..took a risk missed..and we kno wwhat happens then.
Ronnie to win 4 sure. Hicks ain`t the type to oppose.

Maguire-Hamilton- not gona comment couse i think it`s a no bet.

Hawkins-Murpy- commentators are non stop saying this is his last tournament for some time and they are completly right. That gives him more motivation to do better. Murphy is a fantastic player and a big builder. Many times u see him 120 and more.
So far he has played absolutley fantastic and who is Barry to stop him. Barry 4 sure made soem incredible results..but don`t forget Barry..is the mystique here. Didn`t deserve to go past some of his matches..and his draw was "easy". He beat Ebdon yes..Ebdon not on top form and Ebdon giving him 2 fames on the house

For last one...ill also not bet...Hendry is my favourite but this sounds silly...but i will not bet becouse......read this: Johns got another baby.....now the last time John Higgins got a baby he went on to win a big tournament...now suddenly he is playing good again..go figure

I know the 1st 2 matches today have just started so I will post my plays quickly.

I will take all favourites today and play ... Maguire (playing with confidance and Hamilton is average player IMO), O'Sullivan (because Ronnie is Ronnie  ) , Murphy (playing very steady and scoring well) and Hendry (because I dont rate Higgins just now) :D

GL!

British Open - Shaun Murphy vs John Higgins
(Handicap Betting) Shaun Murphy +1.5
@2.10 for 4/10 STAKES

These are BET365 odds. If you don't have an account there, than MURPHY @2.75 for 2/10 STAKES can be a choice...

This BRITISH OPEN was with perfect profit. So do i think i should bet with low stakes for teh last 3 games...

RONNIE O'SULLIVAN !!! Not any value in the 1.25 !!!

Three century breaks in a row yesterday and 5:0 win over Hamilton- if someone can stop OManiac, it is him!!
And it will be a real, 6/10 bet!

O Sullivan v Maguire 2 @4,00 B&W
5/10

Well, a decision has fallen!
I took Rennes as my POD today, but over the day I was studying those 3 centuries in a row Maguire made yesterday (he won 5:0 over Hamilton!) and decided to have a go. It is now or never to stop O Monster!

Maguire is playing his best ever season so far! He is #24 on the world currently and he is improving year by year. He is a very calm player with strong mentality which of course is needed when playing against O Sullivan.
So far, he has won over Robertson (5:3), Stevens (5:0), Junhui (5:2) and Hamilton (5:0)...

On the other side, there is not much to say about World Cahmpion and current #1 on the world, he won last two tournaments and is winning here with ease... but he is no Martian and I think, these odds are worth taking!

I didnt bet on todays games as I felt they were to tough to call ... but what a great suprise to see the two Scottish players hammer their opposition to make it an all Scottish final

Maguire will be World Champ one day ... the guy has talent! ... I know hes not the same style as Ronnie ... but then again who is???

Suprised Higgins has done so well ... he has been very averga ein recent times ... and with Shaun Murphy playing so well in this tournament I felt Murphy to be favourite ... how wrong I was! 8O

I really hope that maguire wins tomorrow ... he is the future of Scottish Snooker and it would be great to see him start to win ranking tournaments. 8)

Ronnie lost 6-1, and i guess i'm the only one lucky man to win a bet in this game while betting on RONNIE...

While the 3th frame was in progress did i bet on RONNIE to win the 4th... And he could just win the 4th

Lucky me..

Between, Congrats to Macot... Great call on Maguire...

I don't know either to bet or not for the final..

I checked the odds. and i don't like the odds for the winner. I'm sure on one thing, either Higgins or Maguire win is not that important, but WHOEVER WINS will surely win with a better score that 9-7...

I mean something like 9-5 or 9-4. I guess the closest result would be 9-6 and even that 9-6 looks hard...

That's why i search a BOOKIE that offres Maguire (-2.5) and also Higgins (-2.5)

If i can not get these offeres, than will i take the TOTAL FRAME BET @bet365...

PS;
Checked the odds now, UNDER 15 @1.90 I don't see value in this one.... But to be honest 15 FRAMES means 9-6... And 9-6 is a really difficult result... Should be UNDER.. But still are the odds low..

My BRITISH OPEN RESULTS are good enough for me. Enough profit made, so i don't think i'll bet on the final....

Still would my advice be;

Maguire 9-5 @13.00 for 1 stake
Maguire 9-4 @11.00 for 1 stake
Maguire 9-6 @9.50 for 0.5 stakes

no other way you can bet on Maguire with higher odds than these...

2.5 stakes risk is more than enough...

Well, one thing I need to say, I am going to make only a small bet here, I will back a competitior I would like to see winning the title- John Higgins.
I think he is a kind of player, that will stop Maguire... also, Higgins to make the highest break is a good bet, he is making them regularly now, 144 in semis, 147 in the last contest...

Let me see, what my prediction would look like... I dont agree with Juankaan here (though I agree what he said in other thread about the site and people here- respect, Juan!) I think, John will win it in a small margin, 9:7 is my prediction for tonight!!

Good luck, all, whatever you decided to bet!

7:5 to Higgins at the interval ... not looking good for Maguire fans now :(

You are right Macot ... Higgins is mopping up the errors. I must admit to being impressed with Higgins this week. He has been so "hot and cold" for so long that I dont really rate him much now.

This week though he has been impressive and should go on and win the final tonight, he has been the best player so far.
