wow here we go again kids!!

So excited about the new season and whats in store for us

anyway, at first blush for me in regards to the schedule for Fixture 1, Sampdoria in Siena and Samp and the 2.70 sure does seem inviting, Siena should have been relegated if Juventus didnt get completely knocked out in 05-06, then last year what did Siena do to make anyone think it wouldnt be the same story? But they salvaged the last season and made it thru, and i dont think they have done enough in the offseason to compete with the likes of a Top 10 team like Samp, but the preview shows will be on Friday on FSC and Goltv, and i have some info yet to find, but im just glad well all be hopefully taking advantage of the new year

My crew and I re opened our forum Thinkdog, which weve had for about 5 years that i just rebuilt and relocated and im inviting all the big whigs who play serious money to be invited to cover their sports and we cover alot more than Soccer with the upcoming NFL and Ncaa football seasons and the NHL around the corner, i assume our forum will be pushing out the info daily, so ill bring what i can to BA this season!! hopefully we can do as well as last year

76 - 64 last year with 11 Draws called at my forum in Serie A and i shot 60.2% in the NFL last year as well, so its not about the brag, its about being good at what i do!!!

I hope to see you all do well this year!!! Lets get the bookmakers shakin in their boots!!

I wrote these previews few days ago so odds might have gone up or down and at least Napoli has signed quality players.

Genoa-Milan

Stadio San Paolo welcomes Cagliari for the 07/08 season opener.

Napoli is one of the big teams (fifth in the terms of support), great traditions and great home support. Last season this team proved that it is ready for top-league football (in the toughest Serie B season ever with Juventus, Genoa etc.) and with few quality signings (esp. Hamsik and Lavezzi) they will IMO compete for mid-table places. Last season Napoli had a record of 21-16-5 and at home 12-9-0! Napoli has great defense as they conceded only 29 goals in 42 games last season, less than Juventus! Striker Calaị is one of the young players in Napoli and surely the future Azzurri star. Still, scoring goals might prove to be a problem for Napoli this season as they suffered somewhat with that even in Serie B, but in this game it shouldn't prove to be decisive. Stadio San Paolo is one of the hottest home grounds in the Europe with capacity of 78 000 supporters, and there should be lots of fans coming to see the season opener, even against Cagliari. Napoli also has had good pre-season with impressive wins even if they came against lesser sides.

I don't expect much from Cagliari this season. They sold their biggest (and only) star Suazo to Inter and frankly their squad looks more like Serie B material than anything else. Cagliari is a home team as they are very weak in the away games and things will be even harder this season as Cagliari with ultra-fast Suazo was the constant threat with counter attacks. Last season Cagliari finished 16th (only one point away from Chievo that relegated) with 9-13-16 and away record of 2-6-11. Coach Giampolo was sacked last season because of poor results but he was reinstated later.

I am fairly certain that Cagliari won't score against hard Napoli defense and at least at home against lesser opponents Napoli should manage to score few goals. Probability of home win is IMO somewhere close to 60% and as some bookies still offer odds like 1.98 (Pinnacle) this will be the biggest bet of the first round for me. Early pick because I expect odds to drop (for example Nordicbet has 1.75 for Napoli) 9 units!

Genoa-Milan

Hot game in Genoa! No doubt about it Milan is much better team here, but some things tell me that there could be a possible surprise here. First of all Milan usually plays much better against big teams, but they are having some unexpected problems with lesser opponents (esp. in away matches) drawing with promoted teams like with Livorno (2004) and Ascoli (2005). Secondly this is first game for Genoa in Serie A for 15 or so years so they are fully ready to prove a point here. Genoa maybe doesn't have the quality of Milan but they will fight hard and with great supporters might steal a point or maybe even three. Third Milan has UEFA super-cup game against Sevilla next Friday, so maybe rossoneri isn't fully concentrated to this game. Whole lot of ifs but IMO hcap of 0.5 would be right for this one not 0.75. Small-medium stakes as Genoa strikers aren't proven on Serie A level and their defense was mediocre even in Serie B. 4 units for Genoa +0.75 2.09 @ pinnacle. I would not take odds less than 1.95

The relationship between these two teams (fans) is at least somewhat hostile because 17 years ago, in the last game between these two, Genoa fan was killed....

Inter-Udinese

Inter was rather poor in Super cup game yesterday. Midfield lacked creativity, defense was insecure and only Zlatan played on his own level. And it wasn't only the game against Rome, pre-season losses to Aston Villa and AZ Alkmaar show that Inter isn't yet on the best possible level. Udinese has also traditionally been a difficult opponent for Inter as last season both games ended with draws. 3 units for Udinese +1.5 with odds more than 1.75 (1.81 @ Pinnacle). Over seems probable but odds reflect that already so probably no pick there.

Lazio - Torino

Stupid line here IMO, Lazio is the better team here but they have injury problems and most of all crucial CL game. Even at their best Lazio isn't the team that crushes opponents and Torino usually plays careful low-scoring games. Lazio has the team of hard-working players, no-big stars or anything fancy but they get a job done. Home win won't suprise me at all but draw could satisfy both teams here. Torino +0.5 is also good but I am taking the "safer bet" here Torino +0.75 1.83 @ Bet365 with 6units

So, returne the Serie A. Some consideration ( I hope will be more incisive in my next post, but should give some idea for the kid who will bet tomorrow):

Generally in Serie A the first round give big surprise. Be carefull about Milan and Inter; Milan because will play in a stadium very hot, moreover Genoa has a particular team, very atlethic, they run all match long and maybe Milan could be don't ready for a similar match in first round. About Inter, has lost Materazzi ( I have seen Inter-Roma at the stadium and he is a column in back line) and don't play very well at the moment. Why to risk? A good bet could be Palermo-Roma more 2,5 or AW. This Roma is impressive, play very well. Palermo has Amauri, Miccoli, Bresciano...player ready to go in score everytime. I thing more to 4 gol too. Another sourprise could be Fiorentina-Empoli, the "Fiore" has lost Luca Toni and I'm not sure that will be a easy year for this team. Is a derby and the Empoli has a good team (six position last year). About Siena-Sampdoria need to remember the three official match already plays by Samp, AW or draw is a good bet here.

This is my general prediction but I have to study serious the situation and the atmosphere.........I will be more I specify next post.

Enjoy, the Serie A can be a banker or a hole of moneies.........need to must understand it.

Good night...I agree whith the post above.

IMHO Sampdoria not to lose in Siena is a good good good bet. They've plaied well in Intertoto Cup last week, also they 've shown good phisio condition in a true game (not training game). Mister Mazzarri works well, and team is for 8/11 the same of 2006/2007. Campagnaro and Lucchini are good def., and Bellucci (wing) is a everygreen players. Siena will fight to avoid relegation. They haven't bought impressive players this season.

Siena - Sampdoria X2 DC medium stake.

Hello to everyone and a big wish to a profitable new serie A season.

Lazio vs Torino
As I already wrote on the main site season starts with a very good match (together with some others ;)), speaking in terms of betting.
Bookies seem to overestimate the differences in this game and overpriced Lazio which disappointed in the first Champions League qualifying match at home 10 days ago and thus will have a very difficult return game next tuesday in Bucuresti. Champions League qualification is their main priority right now so they'll probably have more than a thought on that match. Considering also the problems in defence where Cribari and Stendardo have some injuries troubles and should be rested as well as midfielder Behrami, and the improvement in quality of Torino's team I think the draw is the most probable outcome and at these odds it's also very valuable
Pick: Draw @ 3.25 Blue Square

Hi,
even if lazio will play a tough match on tuesday, i think they can be able to win against torino. New manager (novellino) is a very defensive trainer today his team will try to gain 1 point but his forward (ventola-bjelanovic) is a little poor. Today we'll see hard clashes in the midfield mutarelli-mundigay vs grella-barone, anyway i see more quality in lazio team.
Lazio 1 4/10.

Levan didn't say that Lazio can't win. he simply said that with Lazio's injury problems and the important CL clash in Romania only 3 days from this game the high odd for a draw has value.

Juventus-Livorno 1 at 1.41

After 1 year on second division, juventus go back on the main league, everybody is waiting to see what they will be able to do in serie A, in my opinion they will be able to reach champions place but to fight for the title is difficult, they still have top players, like del piero, buffon, camoranesi, nedved, trezeguet, but we have to see what are able to show newcomers, like tiago, almiron, andrade ecc.
In this match i think all the players will be concentrate like to play against a big team, because this match is so important, livorno lost important striker lucarelli and he has been replaced by tavano and tristan, i don't see other than home win.

I am thinking about three games:

- Sampdoria to score twice @3.05, they are in form already, Siena not, plus Siena now starting.
- Napoli to win @1.8, they are very good team, and need points at begining of this season.
- Genoa to score twice @3.95, I remember last years it was Palermo who could do that to Milan, and now Genoa is looking most attacking team.

What are you thinking?

theedge says:
I am fairly certain that Cagliari won't score against hard Napoli defense

Napoli have real problems in defence in this match. P. Cannavaro and Domizzi are out. Cause that Maldonado and Cupi plays. Maldonado is ok, but Cupi, sorry this gay is not for Serie A defence. And another thing, Blasi will start on bench, Bogliacino in first 11, means that they have any real dmc.
All in all Napoli about 2.00 seems fair too me, maybe even few points above.
I agreed with theedge in Genoa and Udine, and especially Samp looks like good opinion, cause Siena isn't team.

so hey, i guess its Sunday and lookie there kiddies, Sampdoria is still +165 at my place boys, ok, Siena missed being relegated by the hair of their chin again, along with Torino by 1 point, thy both had 40 points and the cut off was 39, so we did see Torino salvage the draw in Rome, and now i know seeing a road dog and liking it to the tune of +165 seems just to tasteful, but Siena is home and +155, so whats that saying? obv they have no clue, and its up to ME to find out why it is we can Be On Sampdoria with Confidence, and to me Siena did NADA to try and not see themselves fighting to stay out of relegation again at years end boys, they have a new Coach, they do have Lucarelli from Reggina to solidify some D, but for the most part, they are not wandering too far off the roster that got them nearly ousted

The Sampdoria squad brought in the Reggina Head coach, who did a Spectacular job bringing Reggina with a Pre season 11 point Deduction, to that magic 40 point Mark, Cagliari being the 4th of the 40 point teams that bled out of their ass to hold on lol (Reggina, Cagliari, Siena and Torino all finished with 40, but for Reggina to do it starting 11 points behind, they were the Obv the strongest of the 40 point teams, as they took points in 27 of the 38 Sched Matches we play, so he heads this squad now, who also brings in Montella from Fulham to be the only striker in a traditional 1 - 3 -4 - 2- 1 lineup, with Belluci and Cassano (out with Inj opening game) at his beck and call, and bringing over Lucchini (D) from a Strong Empoli Defensive team to man the left side of the back line, i think Samp got even stronger , and they finished 9th overall, a team that struggled on the road mightily in 06, getting outscored 2 - 1 on the road (14 F - 29 A) but to be brutally honest, there really isnt a TON of discrepency between say 8th and down to 15th-16th, so its more of an even game as we can get, and once again ofcourse the draw can/has to be assumed in 3 or 4 of this weekends games, i really hope Samp doesnt settle for 1 point and walks into SIena and we hit a quick +165 or whatever your book has it at (2.65 i think you get), they are in our favour regardless, Juice is being squeezed for us, i love that, Samp wins 2 - 1, and im not touchin too many Totals too early in the season yet, Goals are a Commodity in Italy, Dont let the 5 - 0 Juventus score today fool you into thinkin thats gonna happen alot, impressive none the less, Livorno? Juve were a -320 Fav because they can beat the Livornos of Serie A, and if Vegas Dares gives us Juve at a decent price, they are more than Formidable as a fav : Evidence: Early lol 5 - 0 GOOOOOL always nice to be home and back in top flight with a crowd behind you, Lazio is going to struggle keepin the ball out of the net i think, If you saw the game, which i just got done watchin from TIVO! , Thank god for that device , i get to see my Roma Boys Sunday when i get home from work with a tough game in Palermo, but thats for later, this might be a long post lol

and if youve read it to this point and just want what im doing for the day, scroll down ill sum it up, if you want to keep reading, read away, i welcome it, and dont know why i really need to go into this depth for 8 -9 people, but you know what guys, thats what i bring, we all have our thing and our ways to present, i like to be this way, its what makes me me, and whats im assuming gotten you all into knowing who i am, before you were thinkdog people im saying

im going somewhat strong here i mean its early yes, its +165 and i see golden opportunites when they come, whenever they come and when i need them, if Siena shows up to draw, but i dont think they can muster it up, and i hope Samp put the Boot down on the Road and repeats last years 2 - 0 victory late last year on this field, and Samp is doing the best of all the Italian teams in the Euro cups so far too, so they are much more together than any Siena squad could ever be in Mid season or beyond

Samp sittin at +167 at my book - OTB!!! (On the Board!!)

Next Ill head to a matchup that sees Goals and i cant believe its a Str 2 to push at worst man, i dont think Atalanta is going to travel the extent of the entire country if Italy (north to Southern Tip be shutout, these two have invented how to play to 1 - 1 ok, the last 5 of 7 times theyve met its been atleast 1 - 1, if not exactly that, but this is also opening day, adrenalin to get it done TODAY to not be 0 - 1 allready is huge, and both these teams gave up 50 + goals last year putting them both in the lower 3rd of the league, and both teams have new coaches, both trying to interpret their way on their new teams, i think both can adapt enough to put 2 in the net for us, hopefully 3 to paydirt and we see a 2 - 1 vitory for whomever we give a **** wins, although hey +135 for Reggina at home, and +190 for Atalanta sure makes a guess that i like Reggina and may indeed take em small to have action on em, Atalanta on the road was what ultimately led to them not being in European stuff other than Serie A, which at the same token is good to take the time to concentrate on a full season attentive to Serie A alone, so well see how well they do with it in time Obv, but for opening day, Reggina at home has enough to hope another 1 - 1 game doesnt come and a weird +205 doesnt make me jump at it when i see it on the draw, so im goin 2 - 1 Reggina at home to open the season facing a road team to had to travel 1/2 of Europe to get there lol

Reggina +135 - OTB!!!!!

AC Milan is a big fav, i mean Genoa is no cupcake guys, first year back in Serie A, and Half Loaded too!! Rubinho in net this season (Brazil Goalie - UH HES PRETTY GOOD YA THINK!!!!!), with what many expect to be the Serie A Winners AC milan this season, Loaded !! Loaded Loaded, like ****in Loaded ok, i dont know if Genoa knows yet how scared they have to be of this team this season, i see AC not going for in the Euro compet. this season to be concentrating on Serie A exclusively early enough to want to win this campaign, and **** man i dont know if that will truly work out, they may wi nEufa again i mean they are solid, but I dont see them repeating that feat this year, for the simple fact that I, as a HUNCHER, and not from a preview or a word heard, I THINK, theyll be wanting this title worst of all the Titles they could win, will it happen? i dont know, They are a Strong fav at bookmakers early prop to be holding the Trophy years end, so maybe they see it too? i dont know, i think AC might tear thru this league this year if it all falls in place and they avoid Inj Etc, AHh **** i cant recommend Genoa at +500 to be a hero but goddamn that looks so insulting for a home opener ya know? with a Powerhouse in town? this over sure looks tough, Dida and Rubinho are just absolutely Stupid (in a good way lol) but the amount of offensive talent and firepower on this pitch might not be able to hold a 2.5 at -105 to boot man, Even basically, i see an over here, despite the Net minding, 2 - 1 is a huge reality, even a 3 goal game for AC any day is Highly obtainable, and you know Genoa doesnt plan on tryin to go after AC with a Defensive head, quite the opposite has been reported as them being /trying to be more offensive minded if/or they get ahead by some fluke or just because the house carried them, we could see them slow it down but 36,000+ and their first Top flight campaign in 12 years, so this is big time now, Kansas is THATAWAY >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (lol American expression)
And if you think Dorothy is gonna save you even if you bring in the Buffon from Juve, or Even Marty Brodeur himself out of the NHL lol
AC is going to score tomorrow, no Borriello for Genoa is the biggest loss to not have for opening day, He was going to be asked to carry quite a load this year if they expect to STAY in Serie A and not find themselves right back in B, cant touch Genoa really, but that +500 sure did look Yummy, didnt it though lol Tickle the Over 2.5 at basic even odds if you like, i wont yell at you for it and ill be right behind ya doing it

BUT for the king of Beers and thinkin about emptying out the old account with what i have left on my Roma Squad to do what they did all year, espec vs this team, 2 meetings last year 6 goals for Roma, We love this team, and if they plan on beating an even stronger Magica Squad (Yes thats why i am Magica10, old school Futballers know Roma as the Magica, as i said ive been a fan of theirs since 83, id say 25 years of loyalty earned me this name lol) Anyway, stop them from doin it again, and opening day, with the Net minder we have, which will ultimately be our demise, he sucks lol Doni is just not the best top flight Minder in the biz ok lol trust me, i saw 13 of their games last year in their entirety and many more highlights weekly ofcourse, wasnt impressed but watched our overs roll in all year with FRANCESCO TOTTI Wearing the GOLDEN BOOT of Europe for last years Campaign scoring 26 goals and leading them all in League Goals in a season!!! BACK UP FRONT and surrounded by talent, STOP US IF YOU CAN GIMME THE NET OR GIMME DEATH!!!

Summary : (And ofcourse play it how you want according to your faith and affordability etc)

Samp +167 ML OTB (2.67)

Reggina +135 ML OTB (2.35)

Palermo/Roma Over 2.5 -105 OTB (2.05)

Genoa/AC Over 2.5 -105 OTB (2.05)

those'll be my 4 plays of the day, i mean close to NO juice against me, and opening day Hopefuls, and again the OTB means On The Board, ill play them how i like, its just what im doing with my loot today, Ciao and Buono Fortuna!!

INTERNACIONALE have quality more than 90% Europian team. They finished last season with remarkable 30 wins,7 draws and only 1 lose. They scored 80 goals and receive only 34.You must admit this is more than good.
For today game players are:
Julio Cesar, Maicon, Cordoa, Materazzi, CHIVU, Vieira, CAmbiasso, Zanetti, Stankovic, Crespo, Ibrahimovic
Udinese sold they best player Iquinta to Juve.Beside him they sold De Sanctis, Barreto and Zenoni what is big blow for them. This year Udine is much weaker and I don't see them stoping the champion todey.
My pick is Inter home win high stake 10/10

Napoli-Cagliari 1 at 2.06

Napoli go back to serie A, famous team with fantastic supporter, napoli owner built a good team this summer, napoli i think will easy avoid to be relegated, first match is always difficult also because all the city wait for a good results, on other side, i 'm so curious to see what cagliari is able to do without suazo and esposito, in my opinion these 2 players where the 50% of the power of the team, difficult to replace team.
I will go for home win, also because will play bogliacino, an unknow player, coming from low division but in my opinion he is very good and to much undervalue, i think around 2.00 is good.
Small stake on home win.

Next Ill head to a matchup that sees Goals and i cant believe its a Str 2 to push at worst man, i dont think Atalanta is going to travel the extent of the entire country if Italy (north to Southern Tip be shutout, these two have invented how to play to 1 - 1 ok, the last 5 of 7 times theyve met its been atleast 1 - 1, if not exactly that, but this is also opening day, adrenalin to get it done TODAY to not be 0 - 1 allready is huge, and both these teams gave up 50 + goals last year putting them both in the lower 3rd of the league, and both teams have new coaches, both trying to interpret their way on their new teams, i think both can adapt enough to put 2 in the net for us, hopefully 3 to paydirt and we see a 2 - 1 vitory for whomever we give a (censored) wins, although hey +135 for Reggina at home, and +190 for Atalanta sure makes a guess that i like Reggina and may indeed take em small to have action on em, Atalanta on the road was what ultimately led to them not being in European stuff other than Serie A, which at the same token is good to take the time to concentrate on a full season attentive to Serie A alone, so well see how well they do with it in time Obv, but for opening day, Reggina at home has enough to hope another 1 - 1 game doesnt come and a weird +205 doesnt make me jump at it when i see it on the draw, so im goin 2 - 1 Reggina at home to open the season facing a road team to had to travel 1/2 of Europe to get there lol

Well...1-1 again...lol....

My pick is Inter home win high stake 10/10

unlucky here.. the red spoil the game.. and last last last minute own goal KILLED the game.. damn i had Inter HT / FT .. :(

Clearly I overestimated both Genoa and Napoli, both had their chances but it seems that their strikers just aren't of Serie A quality. Still it is too early to jump into conclusions, but Napoli might be a team to avoid for few rounds.

Palermo-Roma is the last and also the biggest game of the round and IMO there should be more than two goals in it. Roma has great team but Palermo isn't an easy opponent esp. at home. Odds for over 2.5 goals are pretty good and probably deserve medium bet, maybe I'll put few units on Roma DNB as well.
Palermo - Roma over 2.75 2.03 @ pinnacle 5 units
Roma DNB 1.73 @ pinnacle 2 units

I am thinking about three games:

- Sampdoria to score twice @3.05, they are in form already, Siena not, plus Siena now starting.
- Napoli to win @1.8, they are very good team, and need points at begining of this season.
- Genoa to score twice @3.95, I remember last years it was Palermo who could do that to Milan, and now Genoa is looking most attacking team.

What are you thinking?

Bad day here for me.

Only SAMPDORIA was good one.

Genoa and Napoli played nothing! 0:3  and 0:2
