I am thinking of Ajax. Any comment? So far, the have been playing great. Odds is good for away win. Any injuries or important info we need to know of?

Heerenveen: Peter Hansson is back; Ugur Yildirim probably won't play, Jong-A-Pin 100% won't play because of red card he received

For me clear HW here, just look at the away record of Heracles (0-2-8)

Heracles without Glucevic , and Everthon ( two important strikers in their squad)

Heerenveen - Heracles

I think Heerenveen will win.

they are very good at home
last week they lost in eindhoven against psv and the week before that they had a disappointing 0 - 0 at home against utrecht, but in both matches they could`ve had more.

heracles collected only 2 points in their 10 away matches.
3 players are out for them, gluscevic, michalke and da silva.

heerenveen wants to finish fifth so they can play uefa cup.
With Alves as a fantastic striker, I see 3 points for them.

pick: H 10/10

Why are you spending so much energy on the win of a team, when the odds are only about 1.30 ??? Just because it's Heerenveen? Maybe I am stupid but...
Where's the value ? Still new people doing this and I dont understand why, maybe someone can explain to me what's so interesting on this risk/profit difference and to put some stake on it just because reputable teams are playing...

Better find a more vaulable opportunity for money making.. .

Heerenveen v Heracles

Fairly confident about this one tonight. It should turn out to be a winning start in the Eredivisie this weekend despite the price available. Heerenveen traditionally are a strong home side even accounting for some of the bigger clubs here. Heracles themselves have performed admiralby at home this season picking up 4 wins including a 1-0 win over Heerenveen. However they're on a terrible run right now with just 1 win in 14 games. They haven't won away and have only picked up 2 draws out of their 10 games. Ex Eagle Ugur Yildirim is likely to miss out for the home side where as Heracles could be without Igor Gluscevic, Kai Michalke and Everton. Heerenveen have the leagues top scorer in their side in the form of Brazilian Afonso Alves who's attracting interest from Manchester City amongst others. They have real quality in the side in Lasse Nilsson, Danijel Pranjic and the experienced Paul Bosvelt. Anything other than a home win would be a huge shock for me tonight.

Utrecht - Excelsior................................?

Excelsior out of last 9 games played 6 away :( Eight losses out of 9 some of them very strong oponents PSV Eindhoven, AZ Alkmaar, Heerenveen, Feyenoord, Ajax
Living very dangerous. As for Utrecht he is doing resonably good but is it not time for Excelsior to start collecting some points? As Utrecht I do not see as a championship candidate and is very comforttable in the midle of the table and 1.40 offered do not find very generous or......????

Value. If you want to talk about value you must understand that there can be more value in playing 1.40 than 2.40. Or less. It has nothing to do with favorites or underdogs. Winners are winners, plain and simple.

Value is when a bettor is receiving better odds for an expected payout than what they have to lay in order to bet.

At 1.40 you have to win over 71.43% of the time in the longrun to show a profit. Thats not an opinion, its math. Therefore if Heerenveen has a better than seventy-one percent chance of winning the match than a bettor is getting value when placing a wager at 1.40 or higher odds. Similarly if Ajax has a 55% or higher chance to win tomorrow than you get value also by playing them at anything better than 1.83.

Heerenveen easily won going away 5-1. Nice writeup and win for you davidmphill. ScorpioRed didnt even offer a counter argument against that game or a play on any match for that matter.
If you dont like to play such high chalk thats your option, but keep the backhanded opinions against the 'new people' to yourself.

Well put, bro. For ScorpioRed value only seems to be high odds, which is plain wrong. Even 1,4 or similar odds can hold value if the scenario is as described by you. No other truth there really, what ScorpioRed says is just an personal opinion, a personal kind of betting style.

FC Utrecht v Excelsior

I fully expect Utrecht to end their poor run of results as they host a struggling side in the form of Excelsior tonight. The visitors have just gone on a run of 7 successive losses and that won't fill them with confidence for this away day. Their 1 win since September was a thumping 6-1 home win over Heracles. Utrecht have been solid at home again this term with just 1 loss to Ajax. Wins over Groningen, Feyenoord and Heerenveen show they should be too good for struggling Excelsior. Utrecht won 1-0 at Excelsior in October and should complete the double tonight.

NEC v NAC
Despite NAC's great form of late which includes a great 4-1 win in Breda over Feyenoord last weekend I still take the home side to prevail tonight. NEC are in the tier of clubs just behind Twente, Heerenveen and Groningen for me. NEC ahve only lost 1 in 8 and despite not winning in 4 they have had a fairly tough run of games of late. They drew at home with Ajax 2-2, no mean schievement. A repeat of that effort should be good enough for them. Looking for big games from Romano Denneboom and ex Feyenoord man Ferne Snoyl.

Willem II v Vitesse
Vitesse have improved well of late wnd have 4 wins in their last 6 outings. Tonight they must fancy their chances of grabbing a crucial away win at strugglers Willem II. The home side have won 1 and lost 6 of their last 7 games and have only recorded home wins over fellow struggling sides. Vitesse are enjoying an a good run over Willem II with 4 successive wins to their name, Vladimir Stojkovic and Gill Swerts miss out for the visitors but they should have too much for the home side who are still missing Mounir el Hamdaoui and Murillo.

AZ v Sparta

AZ warmed up for this game with a comfortable midweek cup win over MVV without their leading scorers Arveladze and Koevermans. Tonight these two return to bolster their side. Goalkeeper Joey Didulica is still missing and hes joined by the influential Stijn Schaars but they should still be too good for Sparta without him. AZ have won the last 6 home and away against Sparta without conceding. Sparta a improving team and especially so at home. They have a fine 1-0 win at Groningen to show for their efforts on the road but to be honest Groningen are a pale shadow of last season side. I expect their 3 game winning streak to come to an end at a sell out DSB Stadion.

Yes , but who can exactly determine how is percentage of the chance some team to win? God? Or, may be you? Mathematical chances are 33% of bouth teams to win, to draw and to lose. When you lose several combos because of only one "double chance : 1.05" then you will understand where is the value and for what is SCORPIO RED writing about. :)

Groningen - Ajax
Groningen played last week some awfull games , i'm shure the Magic of this team is ended !
Today the visitors will come with full squad, im shure that is to much for Groningen.
Leonardo, K.Huntelaar and Sneyder will destroy this team.
My confididient on this Ajax this afternoon is very High ( odds around 1.70 ) even the handicap ( 1-0 ) is a good possibility ( 3,00 )
For me a clear away win with High stake !

Look at this...

You have 3 single bets, you put 10 pts on each of them...
If all of them are odds about 1.3, and one of them gets lost - you earn 3+3=6pts, which is not even enough to cover your loss of 10pts, and the result is 6-10= -4 for you (negative).

If all of them are odds 2+, you make 20pts for two wins, and you can cover third loss with 10pts and you are still +10 points in profit (10+10-10=10).

This is how I differenciate the value.

I dare to disagree here. Groningen have managed to ruin their perfect home record in last 3 games and the recent form doesn't look too impressive but the coach said they played a good game against Vitesse last time and were unlucky to be left empty handed.
Ajax are not any world beaters anymore and against a solild home team like Groningen it won't be a walkover for sure. Neither of the teams shouldn't have big injuries to worry about and despite an awful H2H record(1 win and 1 draw since 2000) I think Groningen is highly overpriced here at odds well over 5,00...

Surprises do happen, you know...and I see this one as one of the most possible one of today's games. If you're not willing to risk money with Groningen and I think it's better to skip the whole match as Ajax is far from worth at the current odds!

Ajax when win today has one more point then AZ, its possible motivation to take 3 points. Maybe we should take draw for safe bet.

Betting is not only about singles though, ;). And now stop watering this thread with your personal betting styles. IX_Bender described value as it is approached by experienced punters, there is no more to be said to that. At least here in the Eredivisie thread. If you want to discuss your style in lenght, there are threads and topics for betting strategies etc.

I agree this is not the best place and this is the last post related to that - admin feel free to delete the posts ;-) I was only reacting to the previous post. You really dont have to give me manner lessons in such a style ;-) But I also can't help myself to react to your arrogance for calling people with different betting strategy (and for them profitable and working logic) non unexperienced. GL with your own one.

Roda v PSV

This isn't the easiest of games for the champions today as they visit Roda. PSV struggled a bit in midweek in the cup where Go Ahead Eagles caused them a few too many problems than they'd of expected so Koeman will be looking for an improvement today. So far this season after a sluggish start for their standards PSV's consistency has made them the most outstanding team once again in Holland. Since losing to FC Twente on day 2 PSV have remained unbeaten with an amazing 17 wins and 2 draws. On loan Alcides from Chelsea will miss out as will Ibrahim Affelay who this committed himself to the Dutch cause ahead of Morocco. They still have quality going forward with Arouna Kone and Jefferson Farfan leading the line. Behind that they have the excellent Phillip Cocu who despite his advancing years is still a hge influence on the side. Roda are still missing the long term injured Kevin van Dessel and to be honest they've performed fine without him this season. PSV have lost only 1 of their last 11 visits here and despite it being a tough game I do expect the Champions to prevail.

FC Twente v ADO Den Haag

FC Twente have been the success story of the season so far and Fred Rutten has to take the credit for that for me. He's turned FC Twente into a very tough side to beat this term as PSV, Ajax and AZ can bear witness to. At home they have been most impressive with 9 wins and a draw from their 10 games. They average nigh on 3.5 goals a game in their home games and that stat should be run close again today for me with the visit to strugglers Den Haag. The visitors are once again struggling this season and look set for yet another relegation battle. Their form hasn't been too bad of late but their hopes are hindered with several first team players missing. I won't name them all or i'll be here all day such is the length of the list. FC Twente will miss Otman Bakkal who's serving a suspension but they still possess Blaise N'Kufo who's been in fine form in front of the goal and the Swede Kennedy Bakircioglu. PSV's youngster Ismael Aissati has joined on loan and he should prosper under Rutten who he knows from his PSV days.

Feyenoord v RKC

Feyenoord will be happy to return to De Kuip today following last weeks 4-1 thumping at NAC Breda. Despite their average showing in the Eredivisie this term they've remained a solid unit at home with only Ajax coming there and taking the 3pts. They have a great chance of claiming 3pts today as the visitors are a pale shadow what they used to be. In the last 12 months their performances have been very ordinary and this term they only have 2 wins to their name and both were at home to fellow struggling sides. Away from home they've failed to win on the road despite the odd spirited showing by them. Feyenoord have a good H2H here with a record of 8-2-1 to show. They are still struggling with players missing and today is no different as now Nicky Hofs has joined Greene and Castelen on the sidelines following his suspension. Even so they should still be too strong today for a poor RKC side who have yet to replace Rick Hoogendorps goals. They are linked with Dordrechts in form striker Cecilio Lopes who's been in fine scoring form for them and they could do a lot worse than try and get him in.

FC Groningen v Ajax

Ajax warmed up for this encounter with a comfortable 4-0 win over Haarlem in the Cup in midweek. Last season I would of swerved Ajax here but such is the season Groningen have had I feel the Amsterdam club will prevail here. Groningen have won 3 of their last 10 games with 7 defeats. Those 3 wins have come against sides you'd expect them to beat in all fairness (RKC, Heracles & Willem II). They were a strong side at home last season and despite them having 6 wins from 10 this term they've been far from convincing with many wins coming late on in the games. Ajax have improved well from last seasons offering and ten Cate is slowly building Ajax up again. He's been active in the transfer market selling Rosenberg to Werder Bremen and bringing in Brazilian Leoonardo. The main bonus is that they've managed to keep hold of top scorer Klass Jan-Huntelaar. Ajax have a tremendous recored against Groningen with a staggering 15 wins from 19 games and just 1 loss here in 9 and that was last season. Neither side has too many selection problems to contend with, the home side are without Gibril Sankoh through suspension and Ajax will miss Belgian Thomas Vermaelen likewise through suspension. I expect it to be a tough match for Ajax but its a game they are more than capable of winning.

Agree with you. I don't like the price for Ajax here. Indeed, Groningen has some problems, especially the defence this season is not looking good, but Groningen at home is always a very dangerous opponent. Last season, Groningen won two times against Ajax and also earlier this season they were close to a surprise in the Amsterdam Arena. Goals seem likely here but I'm not sure Ajax will win it in the end.
