Anyone knows Barcelona motivation for this cup? They lost last weekend. Could it be possible they are preparing for this cup and thus, fielded in a weakened team? I didn't watch the match so not sure of the detail.

Barca fielded the strongest possible team avaiable against Espanyol, but it just wasnt enough on the night.
For this match, I suspect that they will play with some reserves, as they won the first match 0-2, and really are through to the next round.
Barca will definitely go trough to the next round, but still I dont think that with these odds they are worth betting on.
I might play on that both teams will score at 2,2 because of Barca propably will play with reserves, and they can more or less relax. But with small/medium stakes.

Zambrotta recalled to the squad
Gianluca Zambrotta has been called in the FC Barcelona squad for the first time since the Christmas break for the second leg of the Copa del Rey tie against Alavés on Tuesday evening.
Frank Rijkaard named the Italian defender after he recovered from a muscle injury suffered in the FIFA Club World Cup. The squad for the last 16 cup clash is made of first-team players with Zambrotta the only change from the weekend defeat against Espanyol.
Strong side
Among the other players is Ronaldinho, who is set to make his debut in the Copa del Rey this season, having not yet appeared in the competition. The Brazilian did not play in Vitoria last week and was also absent when Barça qualified from the previous round by defeating neighbours Badalona over two legs.
Deco remains out of action and will miss the game in midweek as his muscular problems continue. The Portuguese midfielder has not played since the Christmas break after missing the first game back through suspension and then picking up an injury.
Squad list
The squad for the visit of Alavés on Tuesday is: Valdés, Jorquera, Puyol, Sylvinho, Giuly, Edmílson, Xavi, Márquez, Belletti, Gio, Ezquerro, Saviola, Motta, Ronaldinho, Oleguer, Zambrotta.
Not bad line-up :D

Hehe, looks like a mistake by me to think they will play with reserves :-)
Very strong squad.
It looks like Rijkaard will fuel some confidence by thrashing Alaves.
But still the odds are so low, that I wont bet on it.
Best of luck
I wouldnt bet on Barcelona beating Alavez H2H because the odds are so low (1.20). I think Barcelona can win but then again they dont need to win given that they beat Alavez at Alavez home ground 2-0. If you guys want to bet, a good option would be to take Alavez + 1.75 but please bet low. This is a cup game and not a La Liga game so if Barcelona feels motivated it can thrash Alavez but Barcelona would now want to concentrate on the domestic league.
My local bookmaker is offering odds of 1.50 for Barcelona to win the domestic league in Spain. Do you guys think that is a good bet?
How is the official Barca squad on today match ?

Don't forget that Alaves will be forced to offend in this game, 'coz they have 2 goals behind Barca. And that's gonna make Barca to have more space to play counter attack.
I watched the last match and I found that Barcelona's reserves such as Saviola played with their full strenght in order to impress their coach and they did much better than Alaves in that game.
I believe that Barca gonna beat Alaves today and we'll see lots of goals also. So that, my bets today are Barcelona -1.5/2 and over 2.5 goals
PS. I apologize if my English is terrible..

Barca vs. Alaves
Looking at the squad and the stats HC 1 seems to be a good choice, although odds are lousy. Last two matches against Alaves Barca won with HC at home (2:0, 6:1) and I think it will be the same tonight.
While Barcelona scores aproximatly 2,4 goals at home, Alaves only scores 0,96.
Even if this is "just" a Cup match, I can't see anything else than Barcelona win tonight.
FC Barcelona - CD Alaves (0:1) 1,45 4,00 4,10
odds from bet at home:

if u're judging ur bet just on the squad list then bookies will be laughing to the bank, this competition is so low on barce's priority list that it ranks even behind the european super cup and the club world championships in which they fielded all their "stars" and managed to blow it (though i'm not saying the opponent today is on the same level as internacional or sevilla, but who wouldn't be motivated against them?) ... and for this game they can lose by one goal and still advance, by fielding reserves the youngsters will at least give it their all to impress, but u think all those million dollar stars will play their 100%, or even 50%, to help u win infront of a half empty camp nou? ... ok just watch zambrotta or ronaldinho tonight and see if they go at full speed chasing balls or make hard tackles, maybe, but i wouldn't bank on it at such low prices
osasuna-atletico madrid
P***304;CK:OVER
cause osasuna is very dangerous team at their home. And Atletico madrid have very godd players like torres,agüero etc..and they must have a goal in this match..cause i thnk this game is 3+goal game..
GL..
No one commented that Alaves will play with only 3 or 4 members of their normally starting 11. I live in Barcelona and can tell you that a very weak second division team with reserves and young players will not surprise BArça tonight. Alaves is concentrating on the league as their situation is dangerous, and forget about Copa del Rey. On the other hand Barças highest priorities this season are evidently CL and Liga , but there are many Copa del Rey trophies in the clubs museum since Barça has been one of thge most succesfull teams in this competition since it started.
taken from marca.es:
So reserves and a 16 young player will debut today for Alaves, even their new trainer says they cannot win and thes have to focus on league, giving rest to almost all best players....
Personally i ll take the low odds in a combo, i feel extremely confident about it today. Barça will want to show a good image to the fans after disastrous last matches, so even HC could be very sure.
If they dont win, you can shoot me tomorrow! ;)
can zomebody tell me what is happening in barcelona?
2-0 now 2-2?????
can anybody tell me something about barca s team? line up?
Some sweatin starting the 2nd half but made it through after all. ;)
COPA DEL REY
VALENCIA CF - GETAFE
This should be today's banker. Valencia are in great form, winning all they're league matches this year, but managing only a 1-1 draw in the first leg, away at getafe. They are only 4 points behind leaders Sevilla, and have a good shot for the title, but they also want to take the Cup. They have an away-goal advantage, but they know that won't be enough, and will not defend, but rather attack, and try to score. Valencia will try to field they're best team, but they have some injury problems. Baraja and Vicente probably won't play, allowing Hugo Viana and Silva to take they're places. Villa and Morientes should be the strikers in this game, but if one of them should be rested, Angulo will take his place in attack, thus allowing Joaquin on the right flank.
Getafe are also in good form, coming after 3 games without defeat, although recording only one victory in this 3 games. Statistics show that Getafe never moved higher in the cup then they are now, never entering the quarter finals. Defender David Belenguer will be rested for this game, while Guiza could also be rested, and in his place should appear Verpakoviskis.
Probable line-ups:
VALENCIA: Cañizares; Miguel, Ayala, Albiol, Curro Torres; Angulo or Joaquín, Albelda, Hugo Viana, Silva; Villa and Morientes.
GETAFE: Abbondanzieri; Cortés, Alexis, Tena, Paredes; Redondo, Celstini, Casquero, Vivar Dorado; Verpakovskis and Manu.
Pick: Valencia - Getafe > home win, odds 1.55(betsafe), stake 9/10
I don't think that Valencia is a banker especially with such poor odds it's not worth the risk.
It is true that Valencia doesn't have problems with injuries any more but Getafe is not a poor team either. They've been pretty solid and can be dangerous in attack which the previous leg showed. They are dangerous in counters. It can be a very tight match.
For today's match getafe also has good astrological aspect so I wouldn't be surprised with the x2 on Getafe.
Good luck.
Odds on Villarreal's win at betfair 1.91 (IMHO very high)?
Can smb tell me, why? Will Villarreal play with their first team today?
getafe u say X2???
hehe,i dont thin so,cose i spoke with coach of valencia and he says that thay must win this game, cose he want go in (at least) UEFA cup through this cup.cose thay not standing well in championship
my pick here is 1
Copa del Rey second leg, with everything to play for after the first match ended 1-1.
Both teams look set to field strong line ups, Atletico have travelled with all their star names and have added, the long time injured, Miguel de las Cuevas, to the squad. For the hosts, only Delporte is unavailable.
Get the feeling that the Cup is more important for Osasuna, the visitors having made no secret of their ambition to play Champions League football next season and they probably view this as an unwelcome distraction. Their fans seem to agree, as only 5,000 attended the first leg.
These two will meet again, for the third time in 11 days, when they face each other in the league, at the weekend, back in Madrid. Given the choice, I believe Atletico would rather take the points.
Osasuna's public are a little more interested in the game and over 13,000 tickets had already been sold yesterday. The Pamplona club could hardly be in better form and are very attractive to watch. They are 8-1-1 from their last 10 starts, with a goal difference of 28-9 and on the back of a fine, 5-1 win over Real Betis.
H2h record favours the home team, who have won the last four meetings at the El Sadar stadium, also putting the side from the capital, out of this competition two years ago, with an away draw and a narrow home win.
History repeating and a one goal victory for the hosts.
4 points Osasuna -1/4 ball asian line 2.21.
If Valencia wants to win it will win. It can thrash Getafe either 2-0 or 3-0. If Valencia fills a strong squad with Davd Villa and Fernando Morientes and if it has its natural GK Canizares, I will see no problems for Valencia winning. The last game was drawn 1-1 so it is in Valencia's best interest to go for the outright win.
Remember Valenica has only conceeded four goals in the domestic league at home (Mestalla) so I dont think Getafe can score at all and if they can I am pretty sure they will not put two past Canizares if he's playing.
5/10 on Valenica to beat Getafe.
Valencia a banker ? lol
First have a look at Getafe's recent form. Draw with Barca and Valencia (they were better in both games unlucky to draw) and easy win vs lowly Gimnastic.
Sure Valencia looks good too and Mestallia not the easiest place to visit for any team and they are favorites and rightly so but a banker? no way.
Under seems good value odds, are about 2,00 + for a medium bet. Getafe don't score a lot (except last match) and Valencia should be happy with a 0-0 draw or a narrow win.
Remember Valenica has only conceeded four goals in the domestic league at home (Mestalla)
That is true, but Liverpool also conceded only 3 goals in 11 games in premiership and then conceded 9 goals in just two games in FA & LDV cup. Remember it is a cup game and despite Valencia being at home cup may not be so important for them!Afterall they are chasing the highest places in Liga and still have CL to play for, so many games ahead of them! Getafe is a well organized team(especially at back) and they will play for counters.I think the best choice at these odds is Getafe (AH+1) @1.85!
Worst thing about Getafe is Schuster will likely field Garcia instead of Abondaccieri and there is a huge diference hopefully he has a good game .
Another shot i'd be too  if Sevilla trash Rayo so rather post here .
Sevilla-Rayo 0-0 HT CS @ 3.5 (better odds at BF ) 2/10

Agree and I would add a small try on Getafe @6.5 or more. They are really pretty good and solid team right now, and I know they will give hard time to Valencia again.
Valencia managed to survive in first match in last minute, but that will rarely happen twice in a row. ;)
I really think Getafe won't loose this one...
Real Madrid - Real Betis
First leg was 0-0.Betis won copa del rey a couple years ago.Now only league is importnant and they will field a side with mostly reserves with some decent players in it.Real Madrid taking this cup more seriously and apart from the injured ones the mighty ones are expected to field a full strenght side.

Dear guys,
Thanks for correcting me about Valencia. It is now the 70th minute and Valencia is losing 4-1 at the Mestalla. You are smart bettors.

Is real madrid to win at home a good bet? Their quest to clinch the champion is quite slim now and their hope on this cup in the dosmestic league is important now.
I'm thinking to place a bet on the game Real-Betis:
Yellow Cards from 0 to 4 at odd 2.2
What everyone think? And if some of you knows how many yellow cards was in first game?
Thanks

Madrid is back on the tracks and the good games wiil come, not because Capelo, but pure mathematics (cant go down forever). History is on Madrid side, Betis didnt win ever (since Aug 30, 2003). So my choise is home win. Capelo squad is Casillas; Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Helguera, Raúl Bravo; Reyes, Diarra, Gago, Robinho; Higuaín y Van Nistelrooy, subs Torres, Nieto, De la Red. Injured : Cicinho, Guti, Raul, Salgado Marcelo and Roberto Carlos, with Beckham, Cassano and Ronaldo once again being left out. Real Madrid form (WLWD) home win 64% in last 50 games. Home goals 2.1 per match. If they score a early goal, its gonna be a lot more in Betis net. After Capelo public apology,is to expect full Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Betis:Doblas, Isidoro, Melli, Nano, Romero; Rivera, Juande; Maldonado, Xisco, Wagner; y Dani . Luis Fernandez, perhaps a little too worried about relegation in the League but still set to field a strong team for the clash, though still without a couple of regulars. Many could be surprised, suggest reports, as he tries out his own new-look team with few from youth team players getting a start. Yellow card betis from last match at home: Francisco Munoz Xisco (25), Johann Vogel (56), Conceicao Jorge Wagner (67), Victoriano Nano (88), so rough game is expect again and maybe some red card, wich will alleviate Madrid home win. Betis form (DWLD) away win 16% and away lost 42%. Away goals 0.98 per match. So my pick will be home win -1 2.10 at betsafe
Jan 11, 2007 Copa del Rey Betis Real Madrid 0 - 0

Well, IMO, 'Real Madrid-Zaragoza' was an extremely poor match without any serious goal opportunities over 90 minutes.Zaragoza played like sh*t(except Aimar, who was just awesome), being a huge dissapointment on the night(considering their league position), while Real's new signings Gago and Higuan(both clearly overpaid) didn't look like a players capable to change too much in the game of Capelo's side. Also, their winning goal(RVN from 2 meter) was a joke(clear handball by Higuain) and honestly, after watching some of their latest matches(vs. Zaragoza, Huelva and Deportivo), I'd be very careful with any bets on Real Madrid.Their defense is worse than ever(just take a look at the Depor match, not to mention Huelva), no creativity in midfield and Ruud is mostly useless up front(I have absolutely no idea how he did manage to score those goals)! At the moment, only Robinho looks like a man who can make a difference(some terrific moves against Zaragoza indeed)!
dont compare betis with saragosa, u remember osasuna-betis?
with defence like that 5-1
sorry kamei again
It's over now I'll ready place my bet.. so.. we shall see ;)
U should check who is referee? on marca
I'd stay clear off Real game if there is value is on Betis yes they may field
mixed formation but one able to surprise on th eother hand all available players traveled so nothing is confirmed at Betis hq's tehy are not happy with coach throwing cup away
while real does not impress anyone and they keep with their off pitch show with everyone critizasing all the rest .
On BF rather tasty odds on 0-0 ,0-0 HT , away win, asian etc ,,but best to skip .

I'm not sure what game you were watching. Higuan was top class and quite possibly looked the best player on the pitch. Set up the first goal as well, and could quite easily have scored a couple.
Funny there was no mention of Reyes in your post either - he was fantastic in the last game.
I don't in any way advocate a bet on real tonight, but I'm afraid thart post is misleading. Real have been rubbish for weeks - they looked disinterested, didn't play well at all - but against Zaragoza they were very good. Their only failure in that game was not taking their chances - they could easily hav scored at least 3. They looked hingry, defensively controlled (ironically with many regulars out) and controlled the tempo of the game.
HOWEVER, there has been further chaos at Real, with Capello fined for some sort of gesture at a couple of fans, and more importantly Calderon making a speech at a university (somehow aired on radio) where he basically said the supporters don't cheer the team on like they do in england and italy, there is too much disparity in wages, beckham is going to hollywood to become a bad actor, etc etc etc. The players were obviously outraged by the comments, and Calderon has since been apologetic. Capello insists that training has been excellent, but I would say best to be cautious here.
Also, in recent years there have been some surprise winners in the Copa Del Ray. Not much value on Real.

I do agree with u on that, but its a bad and poore thursday, so take what u can.

Couple? What couple for God's sake? Yeah, Higuan set up the winning goal...using his left hand. Both Higuain and Gago were no better than rubbish in the Zaragoza match, alongside Diarra who was making a mistake after mistake.Except Robinho, they have no player capable to make a difference at the moment.Simple as that...
