Let starts this day.

My favorite pick from this day is

Hertha - Frankfurt H 1.72@WillHill
PICK LOST - 1:2 Tomor

This should be an easy one. Hertha, a team which was thought, before the season of course, that they could win a championship is fighting against relegation. They were in big problems and they still are, but after the 2 last games which they have won (Stuttgart in Berlin and Freiburg in Freiburg) they have enough selfconfidence for another win. This time it is against Frankfurt, one of the worst teams in Bundesliga. For Hertha, this is the first time this season that they have a chance to move a way a bit from 16 place and to stay in Bundesliga. They have quite a good team, and all that they have needed was to win a game against a strong team like Stuttgart, to start believing in themselves again.
This is how they should play, if nothing changes:
Hertha: Fiedler - Friedrich, Van Burik, Simunic - Rehmer, Dardai, Fathi - Reina, Marcelinho, Rafael - Bobic.
Eintracht: Nikolov - Preu***1071; - G***1100;nther, Chris, Hertzsch, B***1100;rger - Cha, Schur, Skela, Kreuz - Amanatidis.
Eintracht has not won in Berlin since 1977, but of course these 2 teams have not played against each other every season, because Hertha was in 2nd Bundesliga and Regionalliga for quite a long time.
I will put maximum on this game, and of course on Herthas win.

Now some (ir)relevant statistic:

25-11-2000 Tottenham - Leicester Premier League 3 - 0

Last meeting:

It seems like Tottenham has the edge when meeting Leicester. Futhermore Tottenham are doing good right now: 5 0 1 in the last 6 games.

Leicester´s last 11 games says 0 6 5 !!!!!

Leicester is working hard to get their points, but against Tottenham they might collapse if Tottenham can follow up on their recent form. Allso notice that Leicester is awfull then playing away.

Fiorentina - Albinoleffe  1  1.60@NordicBet

WON (2-1)

I usually don't go for such odds, but this one seems to be like very probable home win. I backed Fiorentina four times (with asian handicap) since start of the spring part of the season, and they let me down only once. To summarize: Viola have strenghten their squad a lot in winter break, bringing 7-8 very good players for this level. But they haven't impressed, results were so-so, and they finally changed a coach 10 days ago. Last week, accoriding to Italian sources, they were robbed by ref, who disallowed four goals in match against Vicenza. Now they play second game in a row on home ground, where they are very good this season (they won 28 out of 34 points this season at home).

On the other side is Albinoleffe, average team whose main aim is to avoid relegation. Last week they were trashed in local derby against Atalanta. Seria B is tough league, with hard defences and usually few scoring chances. Viola will not have easy task today, but their quality and ambition should prevail today.

Good luck!

Chievo Verona - Lazio Roma under 2.5 goals, 1.95 @ Expekt
PICK WON - 0:0 Tomor

I'll be short, it's late. Also because firstly i wrote a pick on Aachen, but when i saw they will miss Krontiris and Salou i decided to skip them.Old betting rule says: when you see 2 Italian teams are satisfied with the same outcome, that result will very likely happen. After a sad Inter defeat Lazio can be satisfied with a draw, we can say the same about Veronesi who beat Perugia last week and with this point they will confirm their place in the top.But also under is very probable, Lazio have been defending very well lately, and Chievo will play more carefully too.Lazio never won in Verona (2 matches).I'll play draw and under for money, for this competition under looks better.

my pick of the day
Brescia - Lecce over2.5 2.000 at Pinnacle
PICK WON - 1:2 Tomor

Lecce - 8 goals on last three away games all victories(Chievo,Ancona,Reggina)They play with no respect to anyone and can score against everyone(Milan). No problem with injures and I don't see reason to not score against Brescia.
Brescia - two close games against favorites (Milan, Roma)and tie(Sampdoria).
I think that guests will start with open game and try to suprice(like games before), and if early goal be scored over is very close.
stats:

Oct 5, 2003 Lecce - Brescia 1 - 4
Sep 16, 2001 Brescia - Lecce 1 - 1
Jan 27, 2002 Lecce - Brescia 1 - 3
Dec 23, 2000 Brescia - Lecce 2 - 2
May 5, 2001 Lecce - Brescia 0 - 3
Oct 18, 1998 Lecce - Brescia 2 - 0 SERIE B
Mar 14, 1999 Brescia - Lecce 0 - 0 SERIE B

VfB Lübeck - Jahn Regensburg H (-0.5) @ 1.93 Pointbet
VfB Lübeck - Jahn Regensburg 0-3 LOST

This decision is very much based on value thinking more than actual home/away statistics which point towards a draw:

VfB home 2 6 2 15 - 15
Jahn away 2 5 2 16 - 14

(call that balanced...)

Form (last 6):

VfB 3- 3- 0, but only one home victory
Jahn 1- 4- 1, but last 3 away not lost

So, Lübeck actually surprising many by the latest run and even made it to DFB- Cup semi finals. Especially their away record is stunning, at home they haven't shown their best yet- to me it seems like Lübeck has problems in build up when being a favorite, thus surprising potentially stronger opponents on the road with tactical discipline. The last home game I saw was the match against Duisburg (1-1) and Lübeck showed pretty nice but offensively inefficient football. Against Regensburg, and with these odds they must be backed, nothing else is being expected from Lübeck.

Meanwhile, some must have cut out the table from a newspaper and pinned it to their walls at home, people around the club and supporters are becoming somewhat greedy: Promotion, although coach Hecking is realistic, has been set as a possible new goal... and exactly that might be the biggest threat to them in this game against a team they should normally be able to beat with this form and a working squad. Suddenly VfB became the favorites! How will they cope with this situation?

I hope, they'll be doing well, otherwise it's business as usual in 2.BL today and Regensburg can get something unexpected here. But as of now I am confident that Lübeck are in a good position to convert a 3rd home win for the season and odds are really worth the bet- my estimations show fair odds of around 1.85.

My 5th pick is once again an under/over one, but this time from EPL.
ASTON VILLA - BIRMINGHAM - UNDER 2,5 goals @ 1,75 BY SPORTINGBET Bet lost /Per
Though Birmingham let me down last week, winning 3-0 at home against Everton and denying my under bet, i will trust this team once again.
 Birmingham has 9 unders in 12 away games, with overs coming from Tothenham, MU and Liverpool. In away games Birmingham usually plays very defensive football with rare counter-attacks.
 Aston Villa has 7 unders in 12 home games. Results against teams playing in similar with Birmingham style (tight defense and counters) - Middlesborough, Saints - 1-0, 0-2.
 1st leg game resulted in a goalless draw.
 Both teams have several squad problems - striker Darius Vassell (AV) is fit to play, but i think illness he had suffered in mid-week will have its consequances. Birmingham is without key winger Stan Lazaridis (harmstring injury) and this will probably affect their attacking potential.
All in all we have here a good offer by Sportingbet which i will take.

Plzen - Vsetin...home win 1.50 with Bet&Win WON (6-2)

After yesterday's win at Karlovy Vary Plzen become one of the hottest candidates to reach 8th spot (last for play-off). But they definitely need to win this one. Vsetin have only theoretical chance for play-offs (even if win all ucoming games it wouldn't be probably enough). Must win situation for home and great goalie Malek in goal - home win for me.

Bologna+0.5 - Juventus-0.5 away 2.02@bet365
BET WON - 0:1 Tomor

Bolonia home 4-3-4
Juve away 5-3-2

After yesterdays' win of MIlan, Juve is 9 points behind, and in 3 weeks they host Milan in Torino.
So, they'll try to close up to 6 today, and in the next two rounds hope Milan lose points once, and with two wins of Juve(Ancona and Brescia), the gap should be just 3, 4 points, so managable to overcome with victory over great rivals.
Offcourse, first step is today, and without a win over Bologna, all those projects to save the championships are failed.
And, a little conspiracy theory (like Real yesterday)...I feel Juve paid something to Bologna in advance, with that 3-1 away win at Udinese, great 'friends' of Juve...
Oh, and to mention that there's a class difference between todays' oponents.

Aston Villa
>In the three games Villa have played Birmingham since the St Andrews club won promotion, they have not scored a single goal

>Aston Villa are without ankle-injury victim Mark Delaney for Sunday's derby clash with Birmingham City at St Andrews. The Wales international right-back will be out for two months due to the injury he suffered at Fulham last week.

>Ulises de la Cruz has been recalled to replace Delaney in what is set to be the only change to the Villa side that won 2-1 at Fulham.

Available players: Sorensen, De La Cruz, Mellberg, Johnsen, Samuel, Solano, Hendrie, Barry, Hitzlsperger, Vassell, Crouch, Whittingham, Ridgewell, Allback, Dublin, Crouch, Postma

Birmingham City
>Birmingham go to Villa Park trailing Aston Villa by just one point in the table. They're unbeaten in seven League and Cup matches, and know that victory would not only recapture bragging rights, but also lift them above their rivals in the table.

>Birmingham boss Steve Bruce will be without key winger Stan Lazaridis for Sunday's Second City derby at Aston Villa. But Bruce will have the midfield duo of record signing David Dunn and Stephen Clemence back in contention after lengthy lay-offs with respective hamstring problems.Bruce has to decide whether to recall Christophe Dugarry to the starting line-up or again persevere with the Clinton Morrison-Mikael Forssell combination.

>I think Steve Bruce is good and prudent manager he has European ambitions. Bruce also knows the time is rapidly arriving when Birmingham can stop looking over their shoulders at relegation and instead raise the stakes.

Available players: Maik Taylor, Tebily, Cunningham, Purse, Kenna, Johnson, Savage, Clemence, Hughes, Morrison, Forssell, Bennett, Carter, Dugarry, Dunn, John, Upson, Martin Taylor

Good morning !!!

So far, up to (and including) Saturday 21/2 : +121 points, 3/4 picks

My pick of the day for Sunday is from the Greek Div.1 :

Paniliakos v Akratitos......................................... .. 1.......................................1.72 at Sportingbet

http://www.supersport.gr/logos/paniliakos.gif Pyrgos Municipal Stadium, Sunday 14:45 p.m. (12:45 GMT) http://www.supersport.gr/logos/akratitos.gif

Following last night's away win by Kallithea at troubled Aris Salonica (0-1), the situation at the bottom of Greek Div.1 is as follows :

POS.....................TEAM................GAMES PLAYED..................POINTS

13. ....................Kallithea....................2 1..................................15
14.....................Paniliakos................. .20...................................15
15......................Akratitos................. ..20...................................11
16.....................Proodeftiki................ .20...................................10

With the bottom two teams bound for relegation and the No14 team subject to a playoff survival game against a Div.2 team, today's match assumes a paramount importance. The hosts know too well that, having secured a 2-2 draw in the corresponding first round game in Athens (Akratitos tied that game in injury time on October 5th), a win here will practically guarantee them a constant H2H advantage over Akratitos. Please note, goal difference does NOT count in Greek Div.1, only H2H results are pertinent in case of a level-finish between two or more teams !

A couple of weeks ago we would've been lucky if we were offered odds of about 1.30-1.40 for this one... Despite the bad form Paniliakos is in, and despite the fact that the hosts sold two of their best players over the break (Taralidis to Olympiacos and Vydra to Panathinaikos), they remain a far better team than Akratitos. However, Akratitos' recent win over Proodeftiki in the previous round gave them hope of survival and -indeed- injected an aura of "derby" to this game ! The hosts won't take any prisoners here, that's the way I see it, and as much as experienced Akratitos' coach Tennes' players will try to build on their window of hope, Paniliakos will attack relentlessly until they get what they want. At Paniliakos, no doubt, coach Tsiolis must know that if they don't get to put a few goals past the visitors' vulnerable defence, they don't really deserve to be thinking of survival. This must be an akward position for everyone in Paniliakos to be in : back in autumn, the team looked a lot better than it is now, and surely no match for this Akratitos Div.2 material, or Proodeftiki, or Kallithea for that matter... But, here they are fighting for their lives in this relegation 6-pointer against a team they all must've considered miles behind them in terms of class !

An extra twist to this game is added by the presence of referee Tsahilidis here. Tsahilidis was the guy who disallowed a perfectly good goal for Paniliakos in the recent Paniliakos away defeat (1-0) at the hands of Aris ! Today's hosts also have several other serious grievances from that day, when everybody in Greece knew Aris "had to win" one way or another... A different story here, therefore, and time - maybe - for Mr. Tsahilidis to "get things right", as often happens in our not-so-perfect world...

Paniliakos (AH 0:1) is also available at 1.95 at Gamebookers, in case some of you were more than convinced by this presentation... Unfortunately, I couldn't take that one since (in case of a push) I would be left with 6 bets to take within 7 days !!! For good or for bad, I'll stick with a straight 1X2 pick, therefore.

Good luck to all 8)

PICK LOST (0-3) Sure enough there was something rotten about this game, too bad I couldn't smell it ahead of time... Paniliakos finished the game with 10 players and, afterwards, the team president was physically attacked by irrate fans ! Paniliakos deserves to get relegated, but I wouldn't be surprised if they now come up with an "unexpected" away win at a much stronger opponent.

Olympique de Marseille vs FC Nantes Atlantique

Pick AWAY WIN @ 4.00 PinnacleSports (FT 1:1) LOST

Reasons:

1. Marseille seems out of form currently, they still managed win against weak Monpellier, but that team can beat even Swift Novy Dvor from Poland

2. 26.02.2004 They play UEFA game with Dnipro, so there is possible, that they won't give all 100 % against Nantes.

3. Last three meetings won Nantes 8O .Ok, you may say it's time to change.maybe, but with current form ????

4. At home they still did not DRAW, so I keep my stakes low, it could happen now.

5. Anyway, DA (2X) seems very safe.

Maybe HT/FT 1/X and
UNDER 2.5 and
SCORE 1-1 can be good bets

well done man  It looks like finally lady luck smiled to you again  :D

Pick 8 (February)
Borussia Dortmund - 1. FC Cologne
German Bundesliga 1

Statistics:
 Dortmund home goal scored every 39min and home goal conceded every 81min
 Dortmund scored only 2 goals in their last 3 at home. Expect to fill Cologne;ln's net with goals. Hope they won't be more than 3. Also they have conceded 3 goals in their last 3 and 8 in their last 5 games at home. Expect today to allow no more than a goal
 Cologne;ln away goal scored every 162min(!) and away goal conceded every 54min
 Cologne;ln scored whole 3 goals in their last 3 games far from home. They won't score more today. No way. Also they conceded only 2 goals in their last 2 away, which is not typical for them. Expect today to concede more than a goal.

The match:
Nothing else than a home win, that's sure. After the break Dortmund started unlucky with 0-1 at home with Schalke. Next two matches they trashed Wolfsburg (4-2) and Munich 1860 (2-0) away. This match is very important for them. If win here Dortmund climb to the 4th place. And I don't see anything to prevent them to do this. Their opponent is last table Cologne;ln. Away team is also with the most inefficient attack in the league. I only hope Dortmund will not go to 4-0, 5-0 ...
Expect: Sure home win. Cologne do not to score. Dortmund -1.25 and -1.5 are great bets in my view. But I will go for the better price.
Probable scores: 2-0, 3-0, 4-0

***1058;***1072;***1082;***1077;: Dortmund to win with score 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 (Correct Score Special) @ 2.65 (Betinternet)
******************
What happened:
Dortmund scored early goal (26min Ewerthon), but did't managed to score more as I expected. Anyway, the match finished with home win 1-0, which satisfy my pick. Counting +150 points and 1 whole week to search for 2 more 2.50+ plays.
Won

My 6th pick - from Canadian hockey - LHJMQ:

Val d'Or - Shawinigan 2 Odds: 2,2 at Centrebet

LOST 1-2, ahh, these defenisve play showed off

Val d'Or is a below average team, which gets the results thanks to their defense. They are one of worse teams in offense and have big time problems playing with Big clubs.

Shawinigan is the best of B class teams (right after the best 4 clubs in the league). They have great defense and especially like to play in away games, where they can defend for a long time and then counterattack.

Val is 1-1-5 in last 7 home games and they've lost not that long ago to Shawinigan 0-2 (Yes, one more time great defense and waiting for opportunities). Shawinigan is 3-2-1 in last 6 away games. Both teams played already 3 games in Val home venue and only at the beginnig of the season Val won 3-2. Then there were 4-2 and 2-0 results for Shawinigan, which also in last home game defeated Val 7-4.

So all points out to another Shawinigan victory, and especially with these odds it's up to grabs.

Good Luck.

Peace.

Pick no5 3/4 +102

Chalkidona-AEK over 2,5 1.75 Interwetten 2-0 FT BET LOST

Match between two very offensive minded teams...

Chalkidona scored at 9 of last 10,conceded a goal also in 9 of 10 last...
AEK scored in 10 of last 12,5 of last 6 away...

Chalkidona 5/last 6, over 2.5 at home
AEK over in 3 of last 6
I predict both teams will score but AEK is very close to win after PAOK draw yesterday...But 2-2 is not something outrageous...

WhyNot?

hello!

Amiens v Lorient
pick: 2 @4.00 with Gamebokers (2.50 for comp)
PICK LOST - 1:0 Tomor

I don't believe Lorient will suffer their 3rd consecutive loss here. After humuiliating 0-3 home loss they shuould fight hard for 3 points here. They are playing with a candidate for promotion Amines, and a win could do Lorient very good. I think they'll focus on defence here, after all those conceeded goals. So i see 0-1, with a counter-attack.

Let's hope 4 the best!

GL!
