View Full Version : Planica Ski flying, 20.22.02.2004
So, the time has come, again!
Arbiter, let me tell you, organizators managed to bring all objects in connection (except a new ski lift, which is still only a dream) with flying slope into solid state, so the flyings should be a real festival of human flying skills.
100.000 people expected, from all parts of Europe in 3 days!
Welcome to SLovenia and welcome to this thread!
*PS- notice SLovenia is the only state on the world with LOVE written in its name, we love you all, Muslims, Christians, Budists, Agnostics, atheists or others!
Welcome!

Very good Macot, as I said, I always trusted organisators will manage everything in time. :)
No Planica = no real season.
Altough I prefered when jumping on Velikanka was ending WC season and Adam was getting his trophy 3 times in a row there

Not this year, anyway... but he will be back!
programme for today has been canceled due to heavy snowing and windy conditions.

Höllwarth-Morgenstern 1,65-1,97 @gamebookers (yes, they finally work again)
Well I don´t really like betting on ski-jumping because when a jumper has bad wind conditions my bet can go down the drain within the blink of an eye. But for all of you who like to bet on this event tomorrow I think that Höllwarth would be a good choice.
Why? Because Austrian Ski-Jumping Federation was so stupid to let Morgenstern jump in the Youth-Championships two weeks ago (were he got only 2nd behind Polish jumper Rutkowski) And guess what, he lost his form. Everyone who saw him jump at the team-competition in Willingen will agree with me (126 m and 128,5 m), and Höllwarth pulled down a stunning 147 m jump there. I know that Willingen is not Planica but I think that Morgenstern will struggle till the end of the season. Also Höllwarth is one of our most experienced jumpers and has been to Planica a couple of times, and is still in a position to grab 3rd place in the world-cup.
Ok, hope you can use my posting. Good Luck to all ski-jumping tipsters.
I'm going for Ljoekelsoey here. He's simply the best jumper at the moment. Great form. He's better than Ahonen and Hautamaeki. One of these three will win with regular wind conditions, but i took the Norwegian. Intertops offered great odds (4,0) for the win and i took iot with medium stakes.

Jup organisators have done a great job again.
Everything seems to be ready..just the one thing we can`t control is wind.
Sad.... ..i just hope not another cancled competition...
i expect a big crowd again. I was in planica today for 30min...and wind was crazy....
Will be there tommorow and on Saturday and on Sunday.. :D my plan was to hurt Roar...and go on Hautamaeki but now i changed my mind...you will see what i mean all i can say is poor...Austrians
Weather is also poor now ..i hope something better comes tommorow...

day 1 winner: Janne Ahonen 6.50 Centrebet.
Skiflying differs from skijumping. Technics and ability to fly are much more important in skiflying. Wind varies but even with bad conditions great flyers are among the best in final results. Personal skill balances wind conditions much more in skiflying. Janne Ahonen has been reliable flyer year after year after year. Ljoekelsoey has been great during this season. Probably he will be very high here too. Perhaps not number one anyway. Tight fight expected. I agree there are three big favourites in this contest: Ahonen, Ljoekelsoey and Matti Hautamäki. Small thinks can make the difference here. My estimation differs from bookies (again). Estimation to Ahonen 20%, to Ljoekelsoey 22% and Hautamäki 20%. No sure winners in skiflying so stakes have to be low. Not to mension if the weather conditions vary very much during the contest. 2/10 bet for Janne Ahonen to win day 1.

I agree with your pick Jimbo Roar is in best form of jumpers who can win in Planica I mean Malysz,Ahonen and Hautamaeki and 4,0 value is exellent because I saw 2,8 but few minutes ago i found 3,8 and i will play it.
GOD LUCK.
Winner 2 day:
Tommy Ingebrigtsen
Yesterday he jumped very good. Second jump was bad and that was the reason because he didn't win. Today at training he was extremly good. 226m for him which means more then 10 before Ahonen and Kiuru.
