My pick: Waregem to beat Anderlecht for stake 1/10
I highly doubt Anderlecht will be more motivated for this supercup then Waregem. Waregem did great job in Cup, and Anderlecht's main task is to win league again. They will have more problems this year cause Genk is looking very good ATM.
Waregem is not brilliant in championship, but they are very perspective squad. Look just what they have done in Uefa cup! I think they are most successful of all teams in Uefa cup that came to that competition through winning domestic cup. So any team that advance through Uefa group stages to next round can't be called ''bad club''.
Waregem might play with youngsters, but you forget that they want to prove themselves and they will fight for their position in starting eleven.
Anderlecht is surely better team, but not much better as odds suggest.
Therefore I see value in backing Waregem with small stakes.
Deuchar, WTF are you talking about? It's supercup, not cup. Just one game. I'm sure Anderlecht will be motivated to win today's clash
Hmmm it won't be a clash.. Both teams are motivated. Both teams will play with +- B-squad. Zulte-Waregem will let play some young players (but those are well talented guys, 3rd keeper seems to be really good)
Anderlecht does NOT want to take risk with players who are doubtfull.. Mpenza, Frutos, Pareja, Vanden Borre, Akin, Tchité, Legear probably won't play. Boussoufa was ill, but probably could play.
It's cold here, veeeeeery cold, I doubt about motivation here. For me there is not big difference between this 2 teams, the only fact is that Anderlecht trainer said that Anderlecht MUST win this cup, that they WANT this trophy, he takes pressure on his shoulders while Zulte-Waregem must NOTHING, but they'll play free, especially to learn and enjoy (how can you enjoy to play in such weather.. brr)

I'm really thinking about backing the x2 option here.
Both sides will field reasonable B squads, and who initially believed the that Anderlecht would field an A-squad, will feel cheated now, cause they're not ...
Anderlecht has a bunch of absentees, mainly in attack, where Frutos, Mpenza and Tchité won't play. They're still rated doubtful, but I'm 90 % sure they won't be in the eleven, as coach Vercauteren said it's not the ideal moment to be taking any risks in such an unimportant cup. So that leaves Anderlecht with few striking options. Actually, they won't have a real striker at KO tonight, with Akin leaving the club soon and not being included in the squad, and Legear being injured. The offensive minded department is now concentrated on Boussouffa, Hassan and Goor, 3 midfielders. Probably Bous and Hassan will play a bit upfront. Their defence is the normal one today.
Zulte got it's worries too, and they'll field a side with a lot of youth too. The midfield is being formed by guys aged 20, 22, 20 and an experienced rot in Verschuere who's 34. On paper this looks a way too light midfield, but guys like Vandermarliere and Vandendriesche have played in the A-squad before (Vandermarliere even scored vs Loko Moscow). Upfront Zulte will play with Peruvian bench-sitter Gonzalez-Vigil and supersub Mohammed Aliyu-Datti. Vigil is quite unknown to me, Datti ain't that bad a player and if he's motivated he can cause a probably unfocused Ander defence some trouble. Defensively Zulte looks good today with Leleu, Dindeleux and D'Haene, while only one young player steps in, Buysse.
My conclusion is that the odds are really ridiculous, this is gonna be much closer than it looks.

Supercup is not important here hé, remember how Brugge won with their completely B-squad in Genk, or 2 years ago Brugge won in Anderlecht.. and last year Germinal Beerschot could manage draw in Brugge..
The thing that worries me is the referee, he always gives advantage to big teams :o

So he might not take the pressure off his shoulders. BTW Trond already in Belgium ( for vacation as he said ) ;)

Anderlecht will face Zulte Waregem on Wednesday 20th December 2006, for the Belgian Supercup. Questions still rise for Franky Vercauteren who didn't announce a squad selection for the game. Mbark Boussoufa has been ill since Wednesday and is unsure for the game. Jonathan Legear is also ill since Tuesday, so he probably won't make it to the game. Vercauteren can't count on Akin, Tchite, Pareja, Proto and Vanden Borre for the game either.
Serhat Akin still has some troubles with the adductor muscles and is also out for the last game of Sporting before the end of the year. Mémé Tchite has a left thigh elongation and is getting treatment. Nicolas Pareja still has issues with his muscles and won't be there. Also no Anthony Vanden Borre or Silvio Proto. Proto has an ankle injury from training and didn't train yesterday either. Vanden Borre has a hamstring contraction. The echo didn't show anything special, but he's out for RSCA-SVZW.
Boussoufa, Frutos, Legear, Mbokani and Mpenza are doubtful. Boussoufa and Legear are both ill. Mbark Boussoufa has been ill since Sunday so he might be able to make it to the game. But the odds that Jonathan Legear will be fit are a lot smaller. Nicolas Frutos will be tested by the medical staff on Wednesday. The striker will probably be fit, but the technical staff aren't planning on taking risks with the Argentine. Dieudonné got a sprain during training and may not be able to make it either. Also Mpenza is unsure. He is yet to finish a practice session with the group.
"We'll see who's available", said Vercauteren. "We won't let any players play the game if there are risks to it. We were planning on letting some youngsters play anyways, but now we don't have a choice", Vercauteren told the press. "Wednesday we have to play to win. You always have try to win everything you can win. Anderlecht has to take it's first trophy of the season on Wednesday."
Youngsters Bakary 'Bouba' Sare and Oladapo Olufemi will be part of the selection.
