Icehockey, NHL

St Louis-Chicago 1 ----> 1.70 @Expekt Bet won, 7-4

The only really good bet that I could find today. I rank St Loius as the much better team here. Their form haven't been the best lately, and they have one draw and one loss in the last two home games, but that should also make them more motivated to win today.
And if you like statistics, they are also on your side in this pick. St Louis is a strong home team 13-4-4, and Chicago are pretty awful away from home. Only 3 wins in 22 games.
1.70 is nothing special for being the NHL, but copmaired to some odds on for example football, I think this odds is very good, for a strong and superior home team against a weaker opponent.

Penguins v Flyers 1.5:0 2 AH 1.70 @ gamebookers

flyers should put an end to the curse tonite against the leagues poorest team overall. Pittsburgh lost with more than 2 goals or more last 5 games. With a win hungry Flyers at home they wont hold much chance. Flyers have 3 losses 1 tie and one win in last five games where they outscored their opponents. Flyers also lost nine of their last 14 games and now are at a risk of not making it to the playoffs. i believe they can not let it go, at least to the weakest team in NHL

good luck to all

Good afternoon !

My pick of the day for Monday is again from French Div.2 :

Angers v Amiens.......................... X.............................2.75 at Ladbrokes

Well, France hasn't exactly been kind to me lately, though I figure the under-representation of draws this year, at both top 2 flights, is bound to adjust itself to more "statistically correct" figures. With that in mind I simply must take this draw tonight : a strong home team at the bottom of the standings, having suffered only one home loss (4-5-1) and having drawn half its home games (Angers), goes up against a superior team with a good away record (5-2-3), indicating at least they can avoid defeat (Amiens). Amiens suffered a rare home loss against lowly Grenoble last time out and that put a serious dent in their promotion hopes. The hosts, coming off a satisfactory away draw, feel a bit more secure now in their quest to avoid relegation. For different reasons each, they'll be happy with a draw in the end therefore... At least that's the way I see it ! No recent history between these two unfortunately, since Angers are newcomers to Div.2...

Good luck to all 8)

Football, France Ligue 2

ANGERS v AMIENS; Pick:X/X; Price:4.33(BetAndWin)

5.Amiens 19 9 6 4 20-12 33pts
15.Angers 19 4 8 7 18-23 20pts

Amiens are on a much higher position at the moment, but the hosts are typical "home team",where they have w4-d5-l1,10:6.As they have a lot of problems to get any point on road, they simply must keep their good run at home.In the last 10 matches,Angers have drawn in five and it's really hard to expect anything else here, than a new tight, low scoring match. The hosts are eliminated by Rennes from the French Cup a few days ago, while Amiens done their job in the same competition a very well. But the visitors have lost their last league match,vs.Grenoble 0:1 at home,so they can't afford to lose again if they want to continue to make a pressure on their opponents for the promotion place. Both Angers and Amiens have a one of the weakest attacks in Ligue 2,so a draw is the obvious choice and a very probable outcome tonight,IMO,as well as under 2.5!

Head2Head:
2003-08-09 Amiens v Angers 1:0 /2.Division/
2001-09-01 Amiens v Angers 2:1 /League Cup/

Hi all. After calling at the betshop and staking a few money on Greek Jocker ( ;) ), i decided to post another pick here :).

There rnt many games that i like today, but still there r the SA Olympic Qual games in play. So, i choose from there:

Colombia - Bolivia Home Win
1.45 @ Centrebet Won, Colombia - Bolivia 2-0

Unfortunatelly the odds r two low, but i hope that this time Coliombian youngsters will not disappoint me. They have a good squad, although missing a couple players who play at Europe and they still have to win in order to qualify.

The best part is that Equador (team that forced Colombia to defeat at first game of the series) is playing earlier against Peru. Colombia will know the result and the players will be double boosted in case Equador loses the match at that difficult game.

Bolivia cannot show something special and how could they, since their Men Squad sucks when they play abroad. This is happening of course because of the high altitude of their country, which makes it difficult for players to adjust under normal circumstances away from their borders.

The current table looks like this (sorry, i cannot work well with html tables, so the layout sucks):
1. Argentina - 1 1 0 - 2:1 - 4
3. Ecuador - 1 0 0 - 1:0 - 3
3. Colombia - 1 0 1 - 3:2 - 3
4. Perú - 0 1 1 - 1:3 - 1
5. Bolivia - 0 0 1 - 1:2 - 0

Good luck.

BEIRA MAR v GIL VICENTE - over 2,5 goals odds 1.80 Centrebet

Short summary:

Beira Mar scores an average of 3 goals in their homematches.
Gil Vicente scores an average of 2,5 goals in their away matches.

Past meetings:
18/05-2003 Beira Mar - Gil Vicente 5 - 0
22/12-2002 Gil Vicente - Beira Mar 3 - 1
23/03-2002 Gil Vicente - Beira Mar 2 - 1
04/11-2001 Beira Mar - Gil Vicente 2 - 2
14/04-2001 Gil Vicente - Beira Mar 3 - 0

And almost the most important thing: Beira Mar misses 2 main middle defenders wich i think gives Gil Vicente some avantaga in attacks.

My 4th pick, profit -100...

NBA, L.A. Lakers - Cleveland Cavaliers:

Player to score most points: Kobe Bryant (odds 1,50 @ Centrebet)

Other players offered: Lebron James, Gary Payton, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Stanislav Medvedenko.

Shaquille O'Neal, Karl Malone, Rick Fox and Horace Grant are out for this match (well actually Horace Grant has ill father and he was in Atlanta these days, some sources concider him "only" doubtfull for this match, not that he is in any way importand in this story...), Gary Payton doubtfull, somebody must score and there is only 1 name crossing my mind ---> Kobe Bryant. Could easly go over 40 points, even 50...

I can't beleive my luck, Kobe got injured during the 2nd quarter so few players scored more than him, pick wrong!

Clevlend Cavaliers at Los Angeles Lakers - OVER 192.5 Points @1.90 (WilliamHill)

Total Points per Game:
Los Angels Lakers - 101.5 for, 95.9 against.
Clevlend Cavaliers - 90.3 for, 93.9 against.

Total Points per Game in the last 5 games:
Los Angels Lakers - 100.2 for, 99.6 against.
Clevlend Cavaliers - 85.8 for, 93.4 against.

Missing Players:
Los Angels Lakers - Karl Malone, Rick Fox, Shaquille O'Neal.
Clevlend Cavaliers - Ira Newble, Bruno Sundov.

The Lakers scored 113 points in their last game: 113-67 win over Atlanta. Althought the missings of Shaquille and Malone I think that both team will score more than 192 points.

NBA
Los Angeles Lakers v Cleveland
Most Points from (Cook, Sampson,Medvedenko v LEBRON JAMES 2.60 @ Nordic Bet

This for me is a value bet. Cleveland will be up for this game after getting rolled over against Boston and this bet comes down basically to Medvedenko v LeBron James. If you look at the other 2 players involved, Brian Cook and Jamal Sampson, neither are formidable scorers as Cook averages 5.7 and Sampson 2.2 per game. Admittedly Medvedenko got 26 points against Atlanta, but prior to that, his scores were 7, 4, 18 and 14. I see the Lakers winning this game, but LBJ should be able to keep the scoreboard ticking over and make this bet worthwhile.

this is a pick based not purely on stats or form...
here is an idea : Next week is the Ausie Open, all players are very motivated for it.. the main tourney starts next week, but the qualifiers start some days prior to that. So the players who need to play the qualifiers (rating >120 for sure do need) can be really questioned about their motivation in current tournaments, as every passed round here, will mean less time to rest for the VERY important qualies.. of course, some can just forget the AU Open and play as good as they can here, but i will take the risk and bet against a girl who is 174th in the ratings Salerni

always risky to bet 2-0 on girls but with this odds i ll try

Kukalova - Salerni 2-0 @ 3.1 @ Gamebookers

NY Knicks (0) - Dallas Mavs(0) AWAY @ 1.98 Pinnacle

Knicks are poor lately. So is Dallas :). But knicks will miss Keith van Horn and Marbury haven't still 'jelled' with rest of the team. Dallas has only 4 away wins and that MUST change. I see great value here. Dallas have almost beaten Detroit last night and they want revenge. They will win today! Go Mavs!

CLE Cavaliers v LA Lakers pick 1 4.18@gamebookers

Lakers without:O' Neal(20.0 PPG), Malone(14.0 PPG) & Payton(14.1 PPG).
So, this is great value-bet for me, and even complete Lakers are not in proper form yet, totally unstable.
Cleveland not so good away, but I expect Lebron to have to proove something tonight...

My pick for tonight would be Philadelphia Sixers, but it's already taken.

I will try a bet from the NHL.
I advise only low stakes on this one, as I believe tomorrow is a rather good day for betting, at least when considering US Sports.

My pick of the day is:::::::>

NHL
Philadelphia Flyers - Pittsburgh Penguins.......UNDER 5,5 goals 1.85 at PinnacleSports. PICK WON 1-2(sorry for not editing earlier)

I believe this will be a low scoring game. Penguins will surely wait for their chances tonight and try to play defensively, and Philly isn't really in a high scoring momentum lately. I predict this will end 1-0 for the Flyers.
There is actually not that much to write about over/under bets, this is just a feeling, based on some stats.

As I said, save your money for tomorrow, low stakes on UNDER here.

Good luck.

pick #4

ORL Magic - PHI 76ers UNDER 188.5 @2.7 WillHill

we have sixers, who are very good in defense, they allow only 88.5... we have also magic, who are scoring a lot but I think they will be stopped by philly's defense as it was on dec 22 when they scored only 73 8O and the final score was 95-73 what gives 168, which is 20 points bellow today's line from hill so i see value in this pick... what a long sentence :)

So far: +220 (5/8) 17th position

pick N9:
*192,5 Philadelphia 76ers v Orlando Magic
OVER @192.5 points Centrebet!

I could not resist this option, I saw a prediction up and it is OK, but there is an important change to it: Philly played very defensevely, when they were without IA, they scored and received less, even up to 20 points per match.
But now he is back, a bit ill, still we need to expect a runa and gun game between two of the top NBA scorers, Tracy McGrady and alan Iverson and line at 192,5 looks pretty low to me.
After all, Orlando went over that line 14 times out of last 20, lowest scores were against top defensive side of the league, SanAntonio and Philly without Iverson.
This time it should be different, over 200 IMO!
(I wanted to rest a bit but could not resist this offer!)

Hi!

Well I decided to take a pick after all since I'm already in DEEP S..T I really have nothing to loose, guess I'll have to wait for february competition cause really NOTHING has gone my way this month! Well I saw that some of you picked someone to score most points. Well OK than let's try that!

Well I personally think that tonight in NBA Philly has great chances against Orlando, they really improved on their offense in last games and plus that they play much better defence than Orlando. So that's why I think that 3,35 for Iverson to score more points than Tracy is really generous from bookies! Tracy is really fired up right now and he's hitting those 3pt. jump shots like a mad man, but still for me personally Allen is the best. It's true that he's still warming up after the injury, but it has to open up for him sooner or later. So it better be SOON :P , let's say tonight! I think he's capable to score around 30 tonight, and I'm sure they'll limit Tracy at around 20 or just a bit over! Well we'll see, but for sure such big odds are a great opportunity to take. All the problems Allen has (shoulder injury, flu) are gonna be put aside in tonight's match up with Tracy, cause he never makes any excuses for not peforming well:
"I'm out there on the basketball court, so I don't have excuses for how bad I play," Iverson said. "I don't blame it on anything. If I felt that I couldn't get the job done, then I wouldn't have stepped out there on the court. It was just one of those nights for me."

I hope tomorrow he won't need to say anything like that!

So my pick: Iverson to score more points than McGrady 3,35 NordicBet

P.S. Oh just to remind us all of what Allen is capable of:

November he scored 31, 33, 37, 40, 36, 27, 28, 30, 50
December: 35, 35, 35 ...but then injury! So back to track he goes!

Good luck!

I will write a prediction for it later at Bettingadvice. I am not sure if this would be a pick for tomorrow or for today? Cause the match is played at the Australian Tuesday...I would like it to be todays pick.

Oh well, I was too late home to write that at BA. Kohlschreiber is one of the few promising german players, he had already some good results at the end of the last season, especially on hard he is ok and in the qualifiying round he eliminated Wesley Moodie - which 1st has to be done! Luis Horna - well, a great player on clay, but not that good on hard, with a negative record last year. Odds on the dog are exzellent here, it's Hornas 1st tournament in months, while Kohlschreiber has played last week already and also the qualifiying round. I am sure he will give the south american at least a strong fight - his countrymen Schüttler and Kiefer are in a desastrous form these days..

Bet: BASKETBALL - NBA H2H - Most points. Daniels Marquis (Dallas) - Finley Michael (Dallas). H(4.50 - 0.00).
Pick: A
Odds: 1.90
Bookie: NordicBet

Once again, I'll let the stats speak for me. There were 17 games this season when both Finley and Daniels appeared on the court for Dallas. Finley has outscored Daniels by 5 or more points in 14 games.
Yes, I realise that those 3 games when Daniels "won" are the last 3 Orlando games, but hey - this "streak" surely cant last forever.
These 3 games were Finley's bad days - he only scored 20 points in total while he scores the same amount on an OK day.
Daniels on the other hand played good games, but he started the game for the first time in his career yesterday when Mavericks decided to go for a more "light" starting five against Detroit. He might, and probably will, start from the bench again today. Finley is a key player for Dallas and he will surely start.

Dunno what else to say really, I trust the numbers.

Pick 2 [Tennis] Sydney,Start 2.45 am
LINA KRASNOROUTSKAYA v Hantuchova: 1 @ 1.75 [Interwetten] WON :)
Hantuchova is still suffering a hang over from her poor form at the end of last season, going on her play at last week""s Hopman Cup.
Although her team reached the final, she was carried by her male partner Kucera, and failed to win any of her single matches.
The Russian Krasnoroutskaya played well in a close 3 set defeat last week in her first match of the season. This gutsy player will be the better for that work out,and should have too much heart for her slovak opponent.
