Barca's medical staff have been rushed off their feet in recent weeks, with the latest additions to the treatment room coming following Sunday's night game against Real Zaragoza where Leo Messi, Javier Saviola, Andres Iniesta and Edmilson all suffered knocks.
Messi is likely to be out for around three months with a broken metatarsal, while his fellow Argentina international Saviola is set to be out for up to six weeks with a thigh problem.
Iniesta, meanwhile, was forced to pull out of the Spain squad for this week's friendly with Romania because of an inflamed knee tendon, and Edmilson is expected to be missing for around 10 days with his injury.
They join the likes of Xavi, Juliano Belletti and long-term absentee Samuel Eto'o on the sidelines, leading to suggestions that Barca may have to dip into the transfer market to add reinforcements.(Sporting Life)
i am thinking about backing up Getafe not to lose against Villareal (X2) and a draw in Espanyol against Athletic Bilbao match.

Here are some statistics from EL QUINIELA (spanish totocalcio) of EL MARCA newspaper. Next to it will be my comments 'cause I don't agree smtmes with the general opinion.
R.Madrid :85% Draw :9% SAntander 5,..% No comment
Seville : 43% Draw : 34% VAlencia: 21% . I think Sevilla, according to the valencia's problems with quique flores ought to be higher than that (55%)
Sociedad-BETIS : 40-33-26 . I think Betis is back on winning ways and they could keep the score low against a disappointing Sociedad. Draw for me and Under.
LEVANTE-at MADRID : 20-30-50 : Couldn't disagree with the stats. Levante is an open minded team who tries to reach out for points at home. true that at. madrid like that kind of confrontation but 50% chance of success is way beyond their grip.
Villareal-Getafe : 53-29-17 - No way to agree with this. Villareal has lost its last year touch and finds it difficult to score while Getafe has surprised many on away matches among them Real Madrid. I think there is clear value here on X2.
Zaragossa-Gim : 88-8-4 : Clear Home win. but I won't play it.
;)
see you soon
After the recent injuries at barca's offence i believe that against mallorca they might not have any task.I am not saying that they won't win,but we could make some profit from this game with any result.
I am thinking to bet on two things:
1)home win or draw(double chance) odd: 2,25 at gamebookers
2)barca to win with one goal difference, odd: 3,65 same booker
All in all i believe that if barca will win they should win with only one goal difference.small profit ,but almost sure since saviola, eto'o and messi are out.
I would like to listen to any ideas about my thoughts before i take this bet.....
thx

i see a chance for barca to win by 2 goals or more. Although they are away, they still have the firepower to overpowered mallorca. that is my point of view.

Barca will struggle to win in Mallorca, if they finally do so... I see value at the home side here, as Litost does.
Completely agree with my amigos predictions in the main site :D

Regarding Real Madrite.
With Emerson and Diara stuck in the middle line, and with just one striker in the box (even if that man is Ruud), Real won't have the luxury to enjoy a wide victory against solid teams like Racing at Bernabeu...
Maybe in the 2nd part, when Capello changes his formation and give Emerson a brake, Real find the way to beat Santander...
I feel safe on real madrid since the arrival or ruudtje. he is man of the moment and have eclipse raul phenomenon influence in the team. though becks is out for attending cruise wedding, there are back ups. becks not used often anyway.

Sevilla to beat Valencia 2.25 is bet of the season.
I saw Valencia at 10 man Espanyol a couple of weeks ago and they were simply pathetic. They were equally bad in Donestk earlier in the month where they got a lucky 2-2 draw. They are poor away from home this season,
Sevilla are playing magical football, they are so strong and in fantastic form, won all their home games this season.
I think this is a really top bet. Sevilla to win, probably by 2-1, but I will bet on a straight home win. I am certain of it.
Anyone agree?
18.11.06 Spain Primera Division: Sevilla FC - Valencia CF, Our Pick Sevilla FC 0 handicap @ 1.62 10bet
Well Valencia lost focus late in the game last week and that costed them a lot, but still I think they lacked fire power to win that one comfortably. Sevilla is really a new power on Spanish grounds and they should proove that against Valencia. They play at home, both teams are good but skills determination is definetly on Sevilla side. Valencia has been always playing diffrently away than at home. So 0 handicap for Sevilla for that price is really a gift which I take with pleasure.
Heading up for Sunday's matches, emotional matters are taking place:
Real Madrid beat Racing Santander 3-1 in the Spanish league on Saturday as it paid tribute to its all-time great Ferenc Puskas, who died the previous day aged 79.

ghoast of the past... took influence ghoast of puskab in the name of ruud
any value on Ataltico madrid today ? or they will suck away like always and will be happy with the draw ?
Real Zaragoza v Tarragona
The 4th place Zaragoza will meet today the newly promoted Tarragona, 19th place after 10 games. It seems that the Primera Division challange is too much for the visitors, who had succeded only one win so far in the first game of the season against Espanyol (1-0 away).
Zaragoza is strong at home (4-1-0, 12-4) and they are currently on a good run, despite the last round defeat against Barcelona (1-3).
Zaragoza's last 10 games:
Nov 12, 06 Barcelona 3 - 1 Zaragoza (Primera)
Nov 8, 06 Zaragoza 2 - 0 Hercules (Copa del Rey)
Nov 5, 06 Zaragoza 3 - 1 Getafe (Primera)
Oct 29, 06 Atletico 0 - 1 Zaragoza (Primera)
Oct 25, 06 Hercules 1 - 1 Zaragoza (Copa del Rey)
Oct 21, 06 Zaragoza 2 - 1 Betis (Primera)
Oct 15, 06 Real Sociedad 1 - 3 Zaragoza (Primera)
Oct 1, 06 Zaragoza 2 - 2 Levante (Primera)
Sep 24, 06 Villarreal 3 - 2 Zaragoza (Primera)
Sep 17, 06 Zaragoza 2 - 0 Mallorca (Primera)
Zaragoza's last 6 games at home:
Nov 08, 2006 Copa del Rey Zaragoza Hercules 2 - 0
Nov 05, 2006 Primera Division Zaragoza Getafe 3 - 1
Oct 21, 2006 Primera Division Zaragoza Betis 2 - 1
Oct 01, 2006 Primera Division Zaragoza Levante 2 - 2
Sep 17, 2006 Primera Division Zaragoza Mallorca 2 - 0
Sep 10, 2006 Primera Division Zaragoza Espanyol 3 - 0
It seems that Zaragoza is not a team that is wasting chances, as they won most of the games and also draw only once. There is another good chance today, when they will face a team in big trouble and, despite the missing of the suspended midfielder D'Alessandro and defenders Diogo and Gabi Milito, I think they are going to win without doubts.
Gimnastic Tarragona is without a win in the last 9 games and have a very poor run this season: 1-2-7, with a goal line of 9-20. In the away games, the had a 1-0-4 run so far and a goal line of 3-10. Last round, they draw on the home ground against Dep Coruna, 0-0.
Gimnastic's last 10 games:
Nov 12, 06 Gimnastic 0 - 0 Deportivo (Primera)
Nov 8, 06 Gimnastic 1 - 3 Valladolid (Copa del Rey)
Nov 5, 06 Recreativo 2 - 1 Gimnastic (Primera)
Oct 28, 06 Gimnastic 1 - 3 Real Madrid (Primera)
Oct 25, 06 Valladolid 1 - 0 Gimnastic (Copa del Rey)
Oct 22, 06 Sevilla 2 - 1 Gimnastic (Primera)
Oct 15, 06 Gimnastic 2 - 3 Athletic (Primera)
Oct 1, 06 Valencia 4 - 0 Gimnastic (Primera)
Sep 24, 06 Gimnastic 2 - 2 Racing (Primera)
Sep 17, 06 Osasuna 2 - 0 Gimnastic (Primera)
Gimnastic's last 6 away games:
Nov 05, 2006 Primera Division Recreativo Gimnastic 2 - 1
Oct 25, 2006 Copa del Rey Valladolid Gimnastic 1 - 0
Oct 22, 2006 Primera Division Sevilla Gimnastic 2 - 1
Oct 01, 2006 Primera Division Valencia Gimnastic 4 - 0
Sep 17, 2006 Primera Division Osasuna Gimnastic 2 - 0
Aug 27, 2006 Primera Division Espanyol Gimnastic 0 - 1
There are no key players missing for the visitors in this game.
It looks like Zaragoza is the better team here, has a better form, a higher goal this season and I think that they are going to win this game, so I will go for a -1 handicap here, which means that if Zaragoza will win on a goal difference of two or more, I will take the money. If the game ends with only one goal difference for Zaragoza, I will get my money back:
Real Zaragoza v Tarragona handicap 0:1, with the best odds 1.758 at 10Bet.com
As usual quite busy in the weekend, and as I don't have any picks I will just write shortly about my thoughts!
The odds for Getafe in Villarreal is falling quickly today, and I almost don't see any value in the odds anymore for X2. Villa w/o Riquelme, and usually this is a major missing, but with Riquelme not in best form, their game could actually benefit from this against Getafe!! Villarreal makes weird things at home, so I'll recommend people backing Getafe keeping stakes low!!
Depor is somewhat favourites at the bookies against Celta who looks stronger at the road this year! From my point of view the important thing is if Riki starts!! Without him, I see this match as very equal, and Celta is always very organized! Could be a tough one for Deportivo!
Barca has a difficult task on the island, and even though I think the odds doesn't reflect this enough, I'm not really that tempted to back Mallorca! They don't concede many goals, but they will also have big problems scoring tonight as I see their options in set pieces!!
Understandable to back Mallorca here on a handicap like Litost (also as Barca has important CL match they have to win!), but make it asian (+0,75), and keep the stakes rather low!
Good luck -
any info about Mallorca - Barca ??
I see Zaragoza are missing the suspended midfielder D'Alessandro and defenders Diogo and Gabi Milito for today's match against Gimnastic..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are three important players for Zaragoza, and while on paper Zaragoza should win this match, these three missings worry me. I don't think Zaragoza are of the level of Real Madrid, Barca, Sevilla and Valencia where they can easily replace this level of quality and it's worth bearing in mind that Gimnastic only suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat when they went to Sevilla a couple of weeks ago. I really think there is an outside chance that Gimnastic might be able to get a draw here.
While I still think Zaragoza should win this, the odds just don't represent the risk and the best odds of 1.44 at Bet365 have actually gone OUT in the past few hours. No bet for me.
Levante - Atl. Madrid
the odds on Atletico are crazy... ~ 2,42
Levante missing:
ALEXIS, ALVARO Luiz Maior ,N\'DIAYE Sylvain, MANOLO GASPAR, HARTE Ian DL, ROBERT Laurent, AIZPURÚA Jose Ignacio
Madrid
(without long inj. like petrov, maxi etc.) nothing more
Mista back
Atletico 3 away games without win but Levante at las 5 home games win only 2 (including middle Deportivo 2-0 and traggedy San Sebastian 2-0 it's his the last home ground match). Lev nothing speciall, the will figt to take a place 15-10 but nothing more. Atletico will fight CL and they must start winning way, especially Levante is very week to many out/inj. 4 me Atletico must win this game 2 7/10
Villarreal - Getafe
the most important loose 4 home side is Roquelme. the last 7 games witch Getafe Villa win 6... and now is perfect chanse 4 guest to break that fatal series agains Villareal whose played very bad in this season. Getafe is superb, they play fantastic (3 away lose witch Sevilla, Valencia and Zaragoza- so it's the best team at the moment in spain... mabey not Valencia and they beat at home Depor and Real Madrid) Position in league table is suprising especially if Getafe will win today they've 22points. Seville is 1st 25points...
pick 2 6/10
Zaragoza win 9/10

edu is out on 6 montch... ;(
LOS CHES DON'T GIVE UP

Mallorca: Toni Prats; Navarro, Nunes, Ballesteros, Fernando Navarro;
Jankovic, Pereyra, Ibagaza; Arango; Máxi y Víctor Casadesús.
Barcelona: Valdés, Zambrotta, Puyol, Márquez, Van Bronckhorst, Motta, Xavi, Deco, Giuly, Ronaldinho y Gudjohnsen.
GL!
Is Diego Milito playing tonight...also the defenders, what are the quality of Zaragoza replacements for G.Milito and Diogo?
Yes, Diego Milito will play and I hope will score. Pablo Aimar will play too. As for defenders - Pique and Ponzio are good replacements for Gabriel Milito and Diogo, I dont see big problem here.
ZARAGOSA at (-1) is very good bet IMO.

Excuse me!!?? I posted MY OPINION on the match. Everything I stated was correct - none of the three players mentioned played, and it took Zaragoza until the second half to take the lead and I daresay playing against ten men for the majority of the second half might have helped them too. I didn't tell you how to bet on this match - that was YOUR decision, so don't blame me if you didn't win what you might have won. As I won over £700 (1150 Euros) since Friday morning, I think I might know a thing or two about this sports betting lark and I don't regret not backing Zaragoza today as they were a risk. Still they won, and you won - so be happy!
