I don't know why this topic is still not opened as it usually opens around 2am?! I have to go somewhere and won't be able to come back today so I will dare to open new topic myself. Sorry Tahoma...

Spain – Primera Division:

Real Sociedad (-0.5) – Valladolid – 1 @ 1.95 (Ladbrokes)

LOST (1-3) kfb

Real Sociedad is in relegation zone and they need this win badly. It's for the first time since a long time that they will have full squad available for the match. They were preparing for this match for whole week and I think they should be ready to win. In last 10 matches between these two on this stadium, Real Sociedad won 9 times and 1 match finished with draw.
Sociedad is without win in last 8 matches in La Liga and without win in last 12 matches in all competitions! So this should stop somewhere and this is the right chance. Valladolid is still without an away win this season and I think it will remain like that.
Kuki and Holonia also suggested to bet on Real Sociedad in this match, so I think enough has been said already! 8)

Good luck!

Cardiff-Millwall 1 1,85 unibet

LOST (1-3) kfb

Two teams with a recent dip in form. In Cardiff's case the dip coincided with a horde of injuries, including skipper Kavanagh. Their opponents didn't make the losses easier, Cardiff playing most of their recent games against top notch opposition. Last week they got hammered at Carrow road but they get Kavanagh and Weston back after a long while and also Bonner will figure.
Millwall have had their share of difficulties aswell and the teams performances have been somewhat indifferent throughout the season. Installing Wise as the player-manager gave them a temporary lift but now things seem worse. They have had a huge number of injuries and Peeters, Ifill, Whelan, Harris, Muscat(susp.) and Ryan are still out. Due to these absentees they have huge scoring problems and have failed to hit the net in 3 out of four last games, only scoring twice at the sorry Bantams(still losing 3-2). They haven't won away from home since the opening day of the season and they are not going to get anything from here. With the returning players, Cardiff will put their promotion campaign back on track overrunnin the Lions.

Rouen v Troyes * 1:1* 4.00 *GB

This is my last pick just before Xmas and I like to wish everyone happy holiday. See you next year... this bet marathon was a bit draining for me.

Long shot (?), but frankly the draw is just aroud 2.5 for this game ! It's really not worth to bothered. If you look at statistic simply cannot think about anything else than 1-1 draw.
Well if i would cover this bet that would be 2-2 draw odds around 15.

Birmingham-Middlesbrough UNDER 2,5 goals @1,75 with Expekt.

Match P.P. (kfb)

Birmingham has 14-18 in 16 games, 6-11 at home for 8 games.
Boro has 12-15 in 16 games, 6-5 away for 7 games.

Both teams has got very good defensive capabilities and both teams has got a dry spell in scoring right now. Boro for instance has scored 3 in their last 6 while keeping a clean sheet for 7 straight games.
Birmingham's defensse has let up some goals lately, but that has been against either strong teams or in-formteams. Either way scoring is not a strong feature with Boro right now.

Elazigspor-Galatasaray (-1) Asian Ball Handicap 2 @1.80 Interwetten 2-2 FT BET LOST (last minute equalizer...)

Elazigspor
Overall:2-4-10 17-40 (2.5 goals per game conceded)
Home:1-3-3 9-15

Galatasaray
Overall:8-4-4 25-21
Away:3-2-3 9-9

This game is one of those which "big" teams want to undergo a series of bad results.
(Remember Juventus against Parma and Olympiakos).
Galata has only one win in last 6 games and no win in last 4 so they desperately need a victory.
But they visit the worst team so far in Turkey.
The stats above show everything.40 goals in 16 games...
Besides Elazig hosted so far only 2 from 5 first teams,Besiktas and Denizli, and lost 1-5 and 2-4...
I am sure for Galatasaray win but I prefer Asian Handicap because of bad Elazig's defense...
The only disadvantage in this bet is the bad Gala's defense...Gala conceded a goal in 12 of 16 games so far.
So they have to score 3 to win this bet...
But as I said Elazig's defense is very poor besides Besiktas and Denizli scored 5 and 4...Why not Galata do the same?

My pick : Liverpool win hdc(-1) 3.20 sportingbet

match postponed (kfb)

Wolves - Liverpool. Wolves is the worst team of premiership. It will be a miracle if manage to avoid relegation. This is a big opportunity for Liverpool to get 3 points and I think will manage to do so with such a weak opponent. I am taking away win with 2+ goal difference because I predict Wolves will not perform any resistance and based on the strong willing of Liverpool to win here and climb up to the League table as team's target is not 9th place of course but at least 4th place. 35 goals has manage to concede Wolves till now , I do no see how that can change today!

English Premiership, Charlton vs Newcastle

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.97 with Pinnacle

LOST (0-0) kfb

Charlton have enjoyed some great success this season and continue to build on their stay in the Premiership. But their home record is very poor so far this season and they have been conceding a lot of goals. This is because Charlton play proper football with an excellent passing and running game that can be very threatening but also lead to an open fast paced game. I think this will be a great game to watch as Newcastle play in the same fashion and with some good creativity from midfield. Alan Shearer is knocking them in consistently whilst Robert finally looks like a £9 Million player. I think that there is a terrific chance of there being at least 3 goals in this game.

Empoli(AH+1) - AS Roma(AH-1) ( WIN / FT : 0 - 2 )
Pick: 2
Odds: 1.97 @ Pinnacle

Europe's most on-form team, Roma, takes on a side fit for relegation, Empoli. Undefeated in the league this season, Roma looks good to go one better here by winning away to whipping boys Empoli who had already succumbed to Juventus 5-1, Siena 4-0, Modena 3-0. Losing many other games, with a few credible draws and a lucky win against Parma. Roma however are THE opponent to avoid this season, firing all cylinders and equipped by an even more air-tight defence, seemingly nothing stands in their way. Ok, maybe the big guns such as AC Milan and Juventus stand a chance, but Empoli? I do not think so.

Empoli, like I said, are in my opinion one team that qualifies for relegation. Pathetic offence and defence, it is tough to see how they could even scrap out a draw here against the mighty Roma. Maybe last season they would have had a chance, given Roma's form last season, but today is a different story. The Roma of today is one brimming with confidence and playing flowing football. Watching them play is a delight, watching their goals are even more awesome most of the times. They seemingly carve out opponents at ease and I really am looking forward to Roma doing the job again here.

An easy win here for Roma is fully expected and it will be ideal to end their year on a winning note too. Full marks here for Roma!

Ahonen - Malysz 1-------> 1,6 ----->expektpick won

For me this is a real good bet! Ahonen on the first training jumped 133,5m
, Malysz got only 127,5m. Second training again was for Ahonen when he jumped 127m(Malysz only 123,5). On the qualifications Ahonen again was better than Polish star. (128,5 --- 123).

"Janne Ahonen, Matti Hautamaeki and Sven Hannawald are on a very good form. [...] Ahonen and Hautamaeki have a good jump, when the weather condition is equal for everyone they are strong. This time we had a good weather," said Polish coach - Apoloniusz Tajner.

good luck for all!

England, Premier League, Blackburn-Aston Villa 1, 1.95 Expekt

LOST (0-2) kfb

Aston Villa is a poor visitor 0-2-6 away, only 4 goals scored. The last time Villa won against Blackburn at Ewood Park was during the 1996-97, and I expect them to continue their miserable run despite recent victories over Chelsea and Wolves. Blackburn has had a terrible season, but clearly they have improved a lot recently, especially at home. I expect Blackburn to take their fourth home win of the season.

Hi there !

My pick of the day for Saturday is from Belgium :

Royal Antwerp v Beveren.................... X.....................3.40 at Unibet or Pinnacle

Purely a statistical delay pick this one ! Beveren still without a draw on this, the last day of Round 1 in the league... A few days ago, in a similar situation in Bundesliga's last gameday of Round 1, I seem to remember Wolfsburg drawing away at Schalke ! This time we got Beveren, with 17 straight drawless games (running into last season, as well), playing away at lowly Antwerp whose dismal home record (2-1-5) and proximity to the relegation zone guarantee they'll be giving the superior visitors a big fight... I hope this all ends up in a "Merry Christmas draw", which will see Beveren as well get their first draw of the Championship (they're 7-0-9 overall, 2-0-6 away) on the last day of the year !

Good luck to all 8)

Today's pick

Charlton vs. Newcastle | X | 3.50 | Expekt

WON (0-0) kfb

Charlton and Newcastle is in the league ranking 5. 7. Charlton doesnt have a good home form so does Newcastle away..

Newcastle 2w 3d 2l 11 scored 15 conceded 9 pts. AWAY

Charlton 2w 2d 3l 9 scored 12 conceded 8 pts. HOME

I think this match will end without a winner, but this will be a hard game and if you will watch this match you'll enjoy absolutely.

Look at these statistics..

HEAD TO HEAD TOTALS
League: Charlton 16 wins, Newcastle 28, Draws 14
Prem: Charlton 2 wins, Newcastle 3, Draws 3

HEAD TO HEAD at Charlton
League: Charlton 9 wins, Newcastle 9, Draws 11
Prem: Charlton 1 win, Newcastle 1, Draws 2

It has been always in a midpoint it's not sure who wins and mostly with a draw...

Well I know it sounds risky, but this is my pick and we will see. Good Luck! 8)

my pick of the day is:

Real Sociedad - Valladolid 1, (1,9 @ Centrebet) 1-3 LOST

Sociedad with 3-6-7 (15-25) total and are at the moment in the relegation zone! They had success last season, where they came in 2nd place at the end, and so far this season they have qualified for the next stage in the CL, however they struggle big time in Primera Liga. They are without a win in their last 8 matches!! Last season they didn't lose a single homematch, this season they have 2-4-2 (9-10) at home. Some days ago they lost against segunda team Alaves in the cup, but Sociedad rested most of the first team players in that match, so all shall be rested and fit for this match. They have also said that they really want to win this match and they are really motivated.

Valladolid have done it better than Sociedad this season with 5-6-5 (19-22) currently placed 12th. But they are a typical hometeam, with only 0-4-4 (7-15) on the road. They are without a win in the last 4 matches, but 3 of these have ended with a draw.

Probable lineups (marca):

Real Sociedad: Alberto; López Rekarte, Schürrer, Jauregi, Aranzabal, Xabi Alonso, Aranburu, Karpin, De Pedro, Nihat, Kovacevic.

Valladolid: Bizzarri; Torres Gómez, Jonathan, Julio César, Marcos, Sales, Caminero, Ricchetti, Losada, Oscar, Makukula.

Normally Real Sociedad is a better team than Valladolid, at least when they play home, and I think they will win this match and get back some confidence before christmas, so a home win for me.

I threw 1 look around the NHL for today's games, saw the St Louis Blues are unbeaten in 7 games, winning them in regulation or overtime, having the confidence after backing them 2 times in December and winning in 1, while tieing in another, saw the revenge factor (because this game will be in St Louis, and they have to put up a performance like division leadership contenders) and came up with this selection:

St Louis Blues v. Phoenix Coyotes 1.68 Home win with Unibet.

Coyotes receive a lot of goals (evident in those 2 teams last encounter 5-4 winners), but also are ranked 28th in this section, as oppose to St Louis 5th. Power Play and Penalty kill speaks volumes for the Blues, as they're in top 6. My man Tkatchuk still had 3 assists in a 4-2 win even last time vs Sharks.
Coyotes for their confidence have rallied from 3-0 down to earn a 4-4 tie with LA Kings on Thursday. However, the previous matches with the Blues were both in Phoenix, this one is in St Louis.
Confidence 7/10

Everton v Leicester - Everton HT/FT @ 2.87 (Bet365)

LOST (3-2 (1-1)) kfb
Les Ferdinand has now scored 16 goals against Everton throughout his career!! Why couldn't of he waited until the second half to score his goal...instead of deep into injury time of 1st half! :?

Everton will be hard to stop today when they host the Foxes at the hot pot that is Goodison Park. Everton notched up a much needed win away to Portsmouth last week and will be willing to improve on a useful home record of 3-3-2. Leicester's away record is not too flash 2-0-5, winning their last 2 away games at Portsmouth and Manchester City....nothing to write home about.

This has been a close encounter over the years but I think Everton will
get on top for the following reasons:
1. Everton have a tough Christmas period with matches against Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal within the next 3 weeks. Winning points against teams like Leicester is imperative.
2. Everton are always tough at home no matter which team they are playing. With the team getting a win last week...the crowd will be right behind them today.
3. Rooney broke his goal baron drought with a goal last week. He came out this week saying that he wants to win a Premiership with Everton one day. With these comments, it is obvious that moral in the team is high, irrespective of media reports saying the opposite.

I recommend high stakes on the win (1.72) and as always, a small stake on the draw.

Hi

Nantes(0) – Auxerre(0) 2 2.05 bet365 LOST 1-0

Cisse is on fire. Aux are 5 on the table and moving up week by week. They are playing some nice football lately. Their away record is 3-2-4. Nantes are strrugling in their form a little lately. Had to fight in the cup to go forvard. They are 4-2-3 at home. Auxerre can finish in top3 if all goes well before winter break. IMo they cannot lose this last round when they are playing like they are at the moment. Cisse can decide the game alone....

Well, Sociedad (LOST 1-3) is sold out long ago, and I have to choose my second best pick.

Lierse - Brugge  2  1,90@WilliamHill LOST (1-1) hard day, huh :(

Brugge underachieved in Jupiter League this season. Still reigning champions are on 4th place, 8 points behind Standard who is on 2nd, the last CL place. Now Brugge must collect all points they can and away game at average Lierse should not be a problem for a team who got into last 16 in Champions Legue. They are without long-term injury, striker Mendoza, but Lierse also have problems, with two impotrant player missing from their short squad. At 1,90 this one is surely a value bet too.

Good luck!

Expekt offers great odds on English premier league this weekend...and I'll take one there too.

Charlton - Newcastle Away win @ 2,55 (Expekt) (Lost 0-0)

It's never a good idea to bet on a team you support because your opinion is alway a bit biased for sure I think. Anyway I can't resist this one and it's against Charlton once again. Maybe a loss once again

Charlton are still suffering from many injuries and especially in defence and attack. Best scorer Kevin Lisbie is out, also Shaun Barlett misses, backup forward Jonathan Johansson is doubtful but will probably play. Defender Luke Young is missing but Mark Fish has recovered and takes a place in central defence.

Newcastle's defence must be reformed as Jon Woodgate got injured during the last weekend match. Also Titus Bramble is out suspended. Probable defensive line is Bernard-S.Caldwell-O'Brien-Hughes. Craig Bellamy is the only big absentee from the other players but Shola Ameobi has been replacing him quite well lately.

Probably a high scoring match coming up but I believe Newcastle midfield is able to create enough scoring chances for Shearer and maybe Laurent Robert takes another superb free-kick...

Newcastle is unbeaten against the Addicks in last 4 meetings and won here last year 2-0. Goooooo Magpiesssssss

Match looks to have been postponed (kfb)

Pick;

Take DRAW @3.35 @expekt

Analysis;

HOME side with just 1 goals scored in last 5 HOME MATCHES..

AWAY side doing very well with 3-1-1 and just 4 goals scored but 10 points made in last 5 AWAY MATCHES !!!

----

Last week did BIRMINGHAM do very well with the LEICESTER win , and that's good morale for them...
Middlesbrough drew at home with charlton 0-0 and that not an easy score !!! Esp against charlton !!!

---
I think of an UNDER 2.5 and DRAW match here... Every STATISTICS show this.. Butis soccer statistics ??? Maybe not.. Esp ENGLAND PREMIER LEAGUE never depends on stats...
But for this match is the DRAW surely the BEST BET...
And thismeans the VALUE IS ON DRAW...
---

Christophe Dugarry won't play. And that always good news for the DRAW !!!

---

That's all i can say...

Score Guess;

as i wait for an UNDER 2.5 and DRAW will the 0-0 or maybe 1-1 be a GREAT SCORE for me...
I lay on 0-0

Today for the first time pick from soccer:

France Division 1
Amiens - Grenoble X Odd: 3,25 at Pinnacle

LOST, but the result 0-1!. So it was really value to back it also with 8,0 odds!

This is really strange for me. This is French second league and to give odd below 1,55 is really not worthy, when there is so low scoring and so big chances for achieving draw. And here we can even take Grenoble to win it with 8,0 odds!.

But Amiens is 4-4-0 home this season, so I don't give such big chances for Grenoble to win it, but should really give fits to the second team in the table. In fact Amiens is an average team in offence and third in my rankings in defence, but in home games they are really worse. Although they haven't lost a game on their own stadium, they have great problems scoring some from positional attack. Also their defense suffer from it some times, although still they conceded only 3 goals in eight games.

As for Grenoble, they are 18th with 1-3-4 in away games. But in fact they are not that bad, more average in offense and defense, and especially in away games they are playing really better than normal teams. You have to take a look on their defense they are rated really high, although they conceded 10 goals in 8 games, but with real classy and more offensive playing teams than Amiens. In fact for me they are one of better away playing teams in the whole league. And as I can see here their win, still draw is a great option. So I predict here also a 1-1 result at the end. :D

Good Luck.

Besiktas - Rizespor Under/Over 2.5

Pick Under @ 2.30 (Gamebookers)

LOST (too embrassed to write the final score :D )

I think there is value in thess odds, because Besiktas playing without Guinti and Sergen can have some difficulties in creating goal scoring chances against a stubborn Rizespor defence. A score like 1-0 or 0-0 is likely in my opinion.
If we look at the statistics, Besiktas has played 8 games at home, 4 of them finished with under. The average goals scored is 2.375. On the other hand Rizespor played 6 away games this season with average goals scored 1.83. Only 1 of the 6 games went over. So the stats are on our side too.

Good Luck.

Hi guys!

My first pick yesterday was succesful (Orlando won by a large margin)!

Well hope I'm that lucky today! My pick for today is

Seattle - Denver (-5) 2 Gamebookers 1.91

Denver is a great team with for me one of the best rookies ever Carmelo Anthony who is already leading the team scoring with 18,7 points on average! They've got a bunch of players that can easily score at least 15 points in a game (Lenard, Miller, Nene) and that for me is a big plus! They also got Camby who is a very good defender and he's great on the board! They've got a home record 10-2 (Seattle on road 5-6) and they've won last 8 of 9 at home with the only loss being against a team in an up-trend Boston! They played in Seattle just 3 days ago and won by one point 99-98! That was a close game, but I still see The Nuggets defeating the Sonics and by at least 6 points! Well I hope they do anyways! :)

Good luck to you all!

Macot's pick:

Pick N11:
*Mons v Charleroi, X2, 1.65 (GB)
This is a local derby between two teams with different history.
Charleroi were always a first division team, midtable team for ages. They were very poor this season, but I expect them to start gatting some points, with new coach Weisege (ex Belgian team). Mons on the other side are also in problems, they also had a coach changed last month, but it only bring more worries, since he (he is Otalian) did not stick well with players, his tactic not suitable to players.
I expect a very tough match, perhaps under (Charleroi are known as under team), but at the end I think, better technical skills of away players should mean, Mons wont be able to win. For me 2(X), nice odds!
Good luck!

Rennes-Monaco. Rennes is strong at home, does not loose easily. Today plays against the best team in France and away win is at 2.10 GB.
I think the odd are too good. Why? Because , Rennes will be today without their two best scorers. And when you play with Monaco this is a bid disadvantge, I predict a an easy away win and my pick is : Monaco win by 2 or more @ 3.60 GB
Liverpool postponed so my pick now is Monaco.

My next pick comes from NFL:

New York Jets --- New England Patriots at 2.4(Pinnacle) LOSS

I like the home team in this Saturday night NFL game even though New England has won 10 games in a row. In reality, their offense has been struggling and their defense is winning games for them now. On the other hand, Jets best player Chad Pennington has been very hot and is very capable of beating Patriots at home. The JETS will not make the playoffs this year, and this game is their SuperBowl, they would love nothing else than to beat New England in front of their fans, they also won their last 3 home games. It will not be easy and this game will be decided at the end and my opinion is that JETS will pull this one out at home.

Final score: New York Jets - New England Patriots 24-20

It means that kfb has edited your post. But where did you find 3.50? It's quite high. In Expekt's history they have X @ 3.30 and X(+1) @ 3.85 (i.e. newcastle to win by 1 goal). Isn't 3.50 from an odds comparision site that averaged the 3.30 and the 3.85 or have the odds for a draw been lowered from 3.50 to 3.3 somewhere along the line?

ok.
well, let me explain.

i wrote my analysis and checked these matches yesterday night and because of the hour difference between my place and europe i was always sleeping when the topics are opened. when i woke up i post my pick immediately. :)
maybe they lowered it as you say but i never cheat about that. please don't think so! you can make it as it's 3.30 but i wrote and bet what i see and read!

as i said my pick for tomorrow is ready now, too.

Well, my today's pick goes to....

Lecce vs. Juventus | 2 | 1.40 | Expekt

Juventus is 7 points awat from the leader Roma and has to win if they want to go on with their chance in championship. They have a good away performance (4-1-1) and they're playing with LEcce, 16th in italian league. They don't have any good results (2-1-3) to make an advantage against such a good team..

I think this game will be a win for Juve.. Good Luck! 8)

you see?

P.S. Can you put it to tomorrow's pick? I will sleep now! ;)
