Aidan Lynch and Trevor Vaughan are both injury doubts for the home side.

Athlone are without experienced defender Tom Silke, who will not be available for the rest of the season.

Key players :?:

I think not. Key player is Philip Hughes, with 18 goals this season, has been in blistering form in recent weeks, scoring braces in away victories over Cobh Ramblers and Kildare County.

And other interesting fact:
"Dundalk have gone seventeen games without defeat but the last loss came when Athlone last visited Oriel Park. Goals from Jim Sheridan and Brian McCarthy gave the Midlanders a win back in June."

Dundalk wants revenge. They lost to Athlone almost 4 moths ago and since then have no loss 12-5-0, Athlone 6-1-10 in same period.

Team news

Dundalk wait on skipper Aidan Lynch, a doubt with a calf stain
...
Striker Trevor Vaughan (hamstring) remains out.
...
Athlone's Tom Silke intends to 'take a break' from football and the 29-year-old central defender won't feature again this season.

Philip Hughes scored 4 goals in last 2 Dundalk's matches, total 18 goals this season, so I suppose Vaughan is not big miss for home side.

Dundalk won only one of six last home match versus Athlone (1-3-2), but won 5 of 7 last matches at Athlone, so we have 7 away wins, 4 draws and 2 home wins in last 13 mutual matches.

Excellent current form or negative H2H home record? Home win or no bet? Too complicated for me.
