Bruins @ Thrashers
The Thrashers have a good record against Boston. The Thrashers are coming off a b2b win against Florida and sneaking past the Lightning. Thrashers played great defence in that game and the Lightning had no answers what so ever.
Atlanta is 7-1 in their last 8 home games, 6-0 in their last 6 as a favorite; Boston is 1-5 in their last 6 against the Southeast, and 1-6 in their last 7 following a win.
The Bruins aren't so good with there defense and Atlanta should be able to get to the net if they play as well as they did in Florida and against the Lightning. As i said Boston will have great difficulty with the Thrashers defence.
To many things against the Bruins and lots of good reason to back Atlanta. They really have improved as a team from last year and should have succes against the Bruins.
Atlanta 2u-1.32u (Canbet)
Coyotes +1.5 2u-1.32u (Canbet)
I smell something fishy in the Bruins - Thrashers game. Hannu Toivonen will start for Bruins in net, Savard comeback to Atlanta, Kari Lehtonen has already 2 shotouts, will he get 3 in a row? Atlanta also won 'only' 1-0 against Tampa Bay with only 19 shots on net. Perhaps under 5.5 @ 2.00 is worth a shot?

NHL
BOSTON +130 Atlanta
Atlanta for the second straight year enters with high hopes. True Kari Lehtonen getting hurt was a major reason why but they also could not follow up great games with other great games.
Fresh off of consecutive shutouts, this is the situation they have letdowns. Atlanta lacks offense especially since Mac Savard departed.
Trashers : Bruins Pick: Trashers/-1.5/ Odd:@2.87 4/10 Pinnacle
I see few good reasons for this HC bet on Atlanta. First is odd. No doubt about it, that @2.87 offerd by Pinnacle is nice Value. Why?
Trashers are on of the most intresting teams in whole NHL. They have two extremly talented forwards and they have great goaltender in Kari Lehtonen.
Lehtonen begin season with extremly good stats, averaging 0.65 GAA and cca. 97.00% SVS, which is for this high scoring NHL, more then excellent. I doubt he will shout -out Bruins today, but I belive, that Bruins, without depth in attack will not scored more then two goals toady, I hope I am wrong. Trashers are playing very good on PP with 29.4% effiency. So, both conditions for winning a hockey game are here. In-form goalie and killing PP.
On the other side Boston has a lot of new players on their rooster. Their defense is almost completly new. They have pretty good defense in names, but they are not in the form yet. They are allowin a lot of PP goals, with terrible 66% PK effiency. Their goalie Toivonen is solid or even better, he is good. But I rate Trashers stronger at the moment and despite fact, that Savard is playing against his old team I will back Trashers here to cover HC, because IMHO, they are clearly better team.
Ducks of Anaheim/-1.5/ : NY ISlanders 1 @1.962 5/10 Pinnacle
Prety same situation as in the first game. We have storng in-form Ducks with excellent goaltending on one side and tired, shaky and out of form Islanders on the other side.
Ducks has probably the best defensive duo on the blue line in Pronger and Nidermayer. They have excellent goaltending in Giguere and Bryzgalov and yes, there is not importnat who if these two guys will be Ducks netminder tonight. They are both excellent. With such excelllent blue-line duo and finnish flash Teemu Sellane and Andy MAcDonald Ducks are also extremly good in PP, with 27.3% effiency. Again, both conditons for winning hockey game are here. Great goaltending and great PP.
On the other side, we have Islanders, with completely new look. They are out of form, losing all three games in their season opening western coast trip. 6-3 against Phoenix, 2-0 against Sharks, 4-2 against Kings yestrday.
Their goalie Rick DiPietro is strugling with terrible 4.53 GAA and 87.9% SVS. TOday probable starter for NYI is Mike Dunham with solid 2.69 GAA and 90.9% SVS. Islanders are playing terrible shorthanded and I think that today they will be tired in IMHO, they do not have any decent chances to get points out of new named Honda Arena...

Boston has played only 2 games so far so it's not worth to put too much weight on PP/PK stats. Boston let 4 PP goals against Florida. In that game, thier PK was awful indeed (with Thomas in goal) and the coach and the players realized that. They improved in that department against Tampa Bay and vent 6/6 in the PK. IMO, Atlanta hasn't any deeper offensive corps than the Bruins and the big plus for Bruins is that they've got one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL in PJ Axelsson who shut down succesfully Kovalchuk several times last season.

Atlanta Thrashers -0.5, regulation time, laying $100 to win $100
Kari Lehtonen is healthy this year and living up to all the expectations put upon him the last few years early this season. He has been outstanding and the Thrashers have a potentially high-powered offense and Atlanta is off to a 2-0-1 start. Boston is working on a goalie rotation and will most likely go with Hannu Toivonen tonight, but regardless whether it is him or Tim Thomas, I will ride the hot team early in the season against a Boston team who has yet to play a Home game and has been travelling all season to this point.
Week 7: 2-0: +$200
Week 6: 5-1, +$750
Week 5: 4-4, +$681
Week 4: 3-6, +$110
Week 3: 3-3, -$575
Week 2: 5-3, +$306 (did win $509 on the Mansion free bet & hedge)
Week 1: 5-1, +$913
GOGO ducks i know u can Good luck everybody
